Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Many companies remove their branding from vehicles before selling them at auction. If Domino's did that before selling it, this wouldn't have become an issue.
We just need Pizza Hut to give him a car with an 81 pizza maximum capacity and go do the disability idea.
Domino's should have removed their logos before junking/selling. Things could be worse, the car could have ended up like this guy's truck ( a US based plumbing company truck ended up in the hands of ISIS with guns mounted on it, with the plumbing company logo still on it)
If he has the title they can't win. They could just ask him to remove the logos. This is just going to be a bad PR shitstorm for them.
What they should have done was something like UPS. I liked the way they looked and wanted to acquire one. I asked a driver once about this. You cannot buy a used UPS truck. They were worried that someone would impersonate a driver, or trucks in poor shape would be roaming the streets reflecting poorly on the company. The brown is a custom color and the trucks are washed every day. Drivers have to adhere to grooming and dress standards. At the end if the truck's lifespan, they are gutted for spare parts and destroyed. Somebody fucked up here. Domino's probably doesn't have a policy in place for these vehicles. They'll learn the hard way, but from here on out I'm sure there will be steps in place for totalled and end-of-service vehicles.
What's most likely happening is Domino's doesn't want someone who isn't an employee, and thus is not "authorized", to be seen weilding their brand. If he goes out in this car and acts a fool, it could reflect negatively on Domino's and potential cause them to lose money.
He legally owns the car. There isn't shit anyone can do about that. At most, Domino's could sue to have him pull their logo off, and that would be the end of it.
Chevy is probably just happy to have their car in the videos. Domino's should be too. It's free promotion. With the legal threats they are just shooting themselves in the foot.
Sad to see Domino's is delivering lawsuits more quickly than their pizzas.
