Why the hell would you leave a $400 aftermarket fence on a tool you are sending in for repair? Without proof that it was in pristine condition when you sent it off you are SOL.
I get being mad. They should have taken better care of a tool they were repairing but it shouldn't have been on there when it was sent in.
Iβm sorry to say but they are all the same. The bolts that hold the base plate on my 18v Milwaukee jig saw snapped off just a month after I purchased it. Clearly a defect of some sort. Instead of returning it to where I purchased it, I sent it to Milwaukee service. They proceeded to tell me that it wasnβt covered under my warranty but they would make a one time exception. Cβmon man, give me a break. BTW I sorry about you rip fence, that sucks.
The motor did not take the AC power as good as DeWalt initially thought. That is why they never made anymore tools as 2x60v with the 120v AC adapter. Even their latest and greatest miter saw (which is seriously nice) went to single 60v.
They never did any sort of stop sale or recall, so I assume it was a very small percent of saws that had issues, probably ones on dirty power, but there were enough issues that DeWalt pulled the plug on the adapter. Pun intended, sorry. It still was a beast of a saw, better in some ways over its predecessor. If you run batteries exclusively, nbd.
Iβll have to follow up on this my Dewalt miter saw 12 inch stopped working right after the warranty ran out I thought it was a switch, replace the switch still nothing.
And full disclosure from me, I have a 10" DeWalt corded miter saw that i've had for 10+ years. It's great, bulletproof and never failed me.
I just thought it was an interesting issue, especially with all the discussions we've had in the past in this sub about dual power for the bigger tools.
Hasn't affected mine...use it everyday and frequently swap the power supply. I love this saw and wouldn't trade it for a kapex. All the YouTubers are slowly being bought by festool. The makita is too heavy and has a awkward sliding mechanism plus the laser is awful. Milwaukee mitre saws are trash.
"There is a lot of cool stuff in this house but there isn't time to show it in this video because I need the whole 7 min to be a whiny bitch."
