all right in this quick video I'm going to show you how to check a coil and just before we get into the multimeter if you're checking the primary side so basically what you want to do is hook one of your leads of your multimeter up to this tab right here and the other lead on the iron core now it should read in the specs that your manufacturer gives for that coil now the check the secondary you'd put one lead on the iron core and the other lead inside there and once again you will check and see if it matches what the manufacturer specifies anyways let's go to the video see what I did okay we're going to do the coil test right now that's a short between the old one and the new one alright to do the primary side we should hook up a lead right there and touch the coil we should be about 1 to 1 point 2 ohms and the existence is a little high on the new one but then the secondary coil we touch it here you touch it inside and reading 10 ohms I'm going to check see what the spec is yeah so the secondary coil checks in at 10 K so we're perfect there alright now we're going to check the resistance of this old one so we read a little high right there but we do the secondary Severine 18k which are way out of spec 18k now please keep in mind when you're checking your coils they may check good but they still may be bad as the instance what I had when I was working on that GX 120 is that the coil indeed had sparked for a bit and also nits would stop the coil would be bad and if you came back later the coil would come back good so use it as a reference only you guys have any questions or comments post them below I'll always I want to thank you guys for watching
