If You Are 14 - 18, Please Watch This.

I had a friend in primary school who Moved overseas but we recently caught up again we spent hours talking about the good old days of primary school where we played handball tag octopus dodgeball sword fighting with sticks and grinding Super Mario Galaxy 2 and our Wiis super super nostalgic I'm currently in my final year of University and before my internship started over the summer I caught up with a friend of mine who went to the same high school with me we talked a lot about the good old days of high school where we our entire en friend group would just sit underneath the shade of this one massive tree and we would just talk about assignments girls like cracking jokes nuggeting each other's bags and I don't know if this is a thing outside of New Zealand but nuggeting is pretty much when you take someone's bag and you flip it inside out and zip it up so that it looks like a nugget again super super nostalgic but when my internship started over the summer I I talked to these full-time Engineers who had been in the industry since they graduated for 5 10 years and naturally they asked me how my university studies were going and when I talked to them about it what they said shocked me they said man those were the good old days and they told me how they wished they could go back to those good old days of just being an intern and being a university student and then it hit me so hard the good old days that we're always referring to is is always here I will look back on my years now 10 years later and I will reminisce about being an engineering intern about making YouTube videos just in my my shitty little room and getting so excited every time my video crosses like a couple hundred views but for so much of my life I've been in a rush and in a hurry to grow up even under that tree at my high school my friends and I would talk about all the amazing things that we would do after we left high school to go to UNI to have our first girlfriends to build businesses and find amazing jobs and travel and now that I'm in uni I'm thinking about all the things that I'm going to do once I leave uni and a work I'm going to do the places I'm going to go the kids and family that I'm going to have and if you're 14 to 18 chances are you've had this thought as well I think it's like a natural process of growing up so please let me give you one piece of advice right now you guys are in one of the best times of your life and I don't mean it in the sense that things are only going to go downhill from here no I mean that it's just that almost everything that happens to you now you will remember fondly even if it seems completely tragic to you at the time for example you get dumped cheated on get sent to the principal's office you fail a class you get suspended you have no friends you're poor you're broke no matter what happens to you you will look back on those days when you're 85 years of age on your death bed and you will smile and you'll be glad that they happen and you'll wish that you could go back to that time now to be honest this is kind of true for pretty much all ages but the reason why it's most important for kids aged 14 to 18 is because this is the time where we think the most about our future in fact everything that we're doing now School everything almost everything is in preparation for our future we are literally a blank canvas we have Limitless potential and we can be anything we want that's why it's so easy for us to be so fixated on all the amazing things that we're going to do in the future that we forget to appreciate and enjoy the life that we have now but I think it'll be a little bit easier for you to appreciate your life now if you just remember even if it seems hard at times even if you can't wait to grow up one day you will look back at exactly where you are right now and you will say man those were the good old [Music] days sh I wear cuz I I
