HOLD ON... Abby has been out to her friends and family for a YEAR?! Wow, I mean, Holy Shit... Anyway, i'm happy for her <3
The more obvious stuff aside, I'm really, really impressed with Rhys' performance. He really nailed the mannerisms and style of delivery!
Oh God, that Contrapoints paraphrase at the end made me cry so hard
Iβm very moved by the video but also just really impressed by the artistry Abbi employed here. If youβve been watching Philosophy Tube for a while then the first half of the video probably felt a little uncomfortable and almost surreal? Off? Like, weβre looking at this person who is performing like Ollie, looks like Ollie, but that isnβt them.
Abbi is putting us in the headspace of herself, watching herself, feeling a little like somethings wrong. The staging, the script, the couple of stumbling line reads, weβre forced into the perspective of seeing this as the performance it has been for her. For something so personal and vulnerable, I find it really impressive that she also considered it artistically, conceptually, and crafted the message for clarity and impact. Which is exactly how Iβve felt about Bowieβs Blackstar record, so what an excellent choice!
Congrats Abbi, on everything.
lol I like how succinct that final send-off was. That whole, 'if you're just here for philosophy and wondering why I'm a woman now, this is why.'
It elicited a lot of "okey dokey then see you next month" energy out of me.
Guess we'll get some bowie in this video
Awesome!!
Also, Rhys did a stellar job.
I cried at the Contra interpolation.
We have Philosophy Tube at home
