oh let's go all the water's gone hello and welcome back to another bleach reaction today we will be reacting to the final two episodes of the first core I can't believe it's already here I can't believe we're already at the end of the first quarter more bleach to come I don't know um exactly July really yeah uh I hadn't got it I hadn't had a chance to watch because I didn't want to watch it before I finished the core but there is like a little I think like a PB for the next core but yeah it's July 2023 which is kind of always let's go I mean it's it's it's it's a lot shorter than I think like we talked about in the last episode than when they do season to season because sometimes it could be like a whole year yeah but uh I'm very excited to watch these two episodes today we're going to talk about them uh both in one episode we're gonna talk about the first one or watch the first one then talk about it a little bit watch the second one and then talk about it a little bit you know my expectations have been exceeded this entire core this entire part um I'm sure they're going to be exceeded once again where we left off in last week's episode we were finally starting to get into the flashback of how ishin and ichigo's mother met each other we even got to see udyu's father in the mix and uh how he was really involved in ichigo's mom's life and we're just getting to learn more about their pasts which I I always love and it was a fantastic episode I am not ready for it to be over but we have two episodes to watch so we should probably just get into it as far as like I said expectations I know they're going to be exceeded once again so I just want to get into it is that okay Megan no all right absolutely not wait a little bit okay uh all right so starting things off will be episode 12 everything but the rain June truth let's freaking go are you a cutter is yes [Music] he's already suspicious it's so cute [Music] a little Sol Vibe right now [Music] that's because she was bit by that Hollow looking like that a snack like chill chill [Music] oh he's freaking out right now he senses it episode only do opening show spoilers for the show spoilers for the episode you're about to watch oh Gary's snitch she snitched she snitched because she's jealous dude foreign Quincy or whatever are pure blood and that's why they care about her so much [Music] you sell it again I mean there's trauma this family has trauma history yeah oh my god oh Let Her Go showing up cool as hell foreign I think damn this is crazy I love this music have we heard this the whole at all this season foreign [Music] like a little too much yeah immediately [Music] you're so similar let's go so now you have to marry that's a super Ichigo uh like pose face good hell yeah dude [Laughter] [Music] or I could watch a whole ass anime about that I know just them I know damn he is sad boy ours to the F Max yeah and rebound let's go rebound Central from half court damn yeah oh I like this yeah me too they're beautiful wow hmm this is so sad yeah I literally gonna cry too damn that was [ __ ] beautiful June 17th yes it got you oh it's so sad guy like why can't anyone just be happy whoa what the [ __ ] that was for real one episode yeah what do you mean I know we say that all the time but that was that was Unreal I thought that was a halfway mark uh too much see look at how much we that I know poem time oh [ __ ] is that you have Bach or is that like zangetsu it sounds like you have oh my God that was a very emotional episode that was a that was intense that got you yeah it was just sad like it was Saturday well now we know I mean it wasn't just like oh she wasn't strong enough he's like no she could have taken it easily like it was just she literally in that very moment got her powers taken away but I like it I like this now because we had speculated that Ishida would you know maybe join the Quincy side but now knowing that you hubbock was responsible killing his mother for killing his mom then now I think and now Ichigo is like Quincy as well so there's like you know they'll team up together probably um instead of the other way around where he would go unless he should like we've talked about or do you like we talked about ghosts yeah so infiltrate there their sort of ranks um yeah man I mean that was beautifully written um it was beautifully directed hearing that song I forget the name of it but uh I don't know if we've heard it in this core so far I don't think I think you wouldn't have had that reaction but I think he reacted that way that that sent me all the way back it is so that's not bad yeah [Music] um yeah it's just so emotional and seeing just how I mean it wasn't just like a case where you know it's like pick one or the other it's like right like she literally had like he sacrificed like pretty much everything to like save her and because she saved him yeah and to like eventually you know be with her um and it's just so crazy to see urahata with both of them and it like mirrored with like both of their kids like what did yeah like they're exactly they're both like identical to each other yeah um they're both so similar to their parents but also like their moms too like they have you know a mix but it is just so funny like his Fool's like I've dealt with both of you before that is so funny now going back rereading are re-watching those interactions you can kind of see it through that lens like oh yeah yeah this is not udahata's first rodeo with uh uh akurasaki uh yeah uh you know uh uh you know Ishida but even like um you know ishin has ishin right his dad uh yes yeah you should like you could see how he is a little bit more he is definitely more level-headed than Ichigo is I mean he's definitely older here yeah um but he has like his mom for sure because his mom was like I'm just gonna go save the guy this little Reaper the guy right now I'm just gonna run out right right now like that's so Ichigo versus like let me think about it he wouldn't even think it'd like not to write that in his uh report he'd be like oh yeah no I met a Quincy and they'd be like like they're just yeah I just love the mix so yeah you should have a little more attacks yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah discretion yeah he has his mom's for sure just like run into it run into it to battle Yeah uh run in first ask questions yeah yeah um but uh yeah and then finding out and getting that bomb sort of uh at the end I mean we already knew and had gotten this sense given this man's presence alone but you have Bach being the father essentially father quote unquote of all Quincy's yeah he has a different vibe than even like I mean like an Eisen or someone like running a fleet or an army of people it is like you know people are yes there's something like ancient about it there's something older about him there's something yeah because he's a lot calmer more calculated he is definitely more just like Cut Throat ruthless like he'll just let them die for him like so easily like he doesn't even think about it yeah someone who because he's like a god I mean he's just like okay you deserve to die for me yeah you know and yeah he does seem like and he has been through so much stuff I mean Eisen is a definitely a calculating sort of Mastermind um pulling the strings behind the scenes but I don't know something about I it's like Eisen wanted to be a God wanted to be above everyone else and was and was like executing his plan to become that but it's like you how back is already that yeah like he is that he is on that Throne he is sitting up I mean he's able to take like who he chooses like the powers from like yeah Eisen could just like choose to kill someone um and create a plan that way but he's just like yeah I can do it I mean when I when I woke up I could just you know and yeah that that and I think they can you know use them right they can take them and then use them the Bankai of the Soul Reapers the Shinigami that's insane that's insane I remember when I was you know reading it again the Thousand Year bloodwork Arc I never read but I think I followed um you know two events to a degree um you know certain certain moments but that even that was years ago uh but I I remember the reveal Aviation becoming uh or being a soul Reaper but that was obviously a long time ago that was in like the you know final battle of katakura or maybe even before that uh or around that time not important either way I always you know wandered and I had always heard in the community people sort of debating and going back and forth whether this was something that was genuinely set up since the very beginning or if it was something that was sort of decided at a certain point and then reverse engineered to to kind of make sense either way I mean especially after this episode it is so well done seamless well explained and it is explained and based on and built upon all of these other things that we have already known to be to exist in this world like the gig eye and and and you know the spiritual pressure being short of uh subdued not being able to not being able to feel things or see things I mean just like all of these pieces these very intricate pieces have been laid out in such a way that whether reverse engineered or being a plant from the very beginning like is so well executed and so well done that it doesn't feel like they could throw away like no no Quincy his mom was uh or his mom was a Quincy established it feels like a really great way to wrap up all of these concepts for the end of a story yeah like it is yeah whether reverse engineer or not like all of the things coming back and not in a like we're just gonna push it all out there to have it explained um it is a really good way to like end the story to have like not as many yeah Loose Ends just everywhere yeah yeah exactly like oh what happened to ishida's Mom oh she just died what happened to each she goes well oh she just died like to bring this uh you know the Quincy's versus the Soul Reapers like back into the story at the very end like it's just super fitting because we've had like contentious we didn't really know the history and now we're getting to to learn about yeah to learn about it um and it just feels so complete it does and it feels like wait to wrap up just like ichigo's character in general because that's always been like I mean it only happened like nine years ago like that's yeah that's crazy it's crazy like it's like not that long ago he's dealing with his mom's death like everyone has been dealing with it but you know it is just not something that happened a long time ago uh so for it to come back and for him to learn the truth and for him to get that closure hopefully um is is really cool yeah we have one episode left this is it episode 13 the finale I don't know what to expect based on you know the poem that we got uh from the last episode you know people have pointed out to us and we've started to notice that the poems the people reciting the poems at the end of each episode tend to have a pretty big part in the episode The Next Episode um I don't know what to expect if it's gonna be a big reveal um some crazy action uh I I I I I I I yeah I I uh my expectations are all over the place but I know again I'm gonna be blown away and so happy because even hearing like I said that little piece of music in the background like freaking sent me all the way back and and uh it is flamed your Nostalgia oh man yeah my Nostalgia gland is inflamed it sounds gross but I am just so happy to be here and so happy to be watching this and uh yeah um I think we should just jump into the final episode of the first core all right let's go and this one is just called part one finale let's do it that was better huh that was way better yeah way better than what the [ __ ] I did whoa whoa whoa it was immediately he learned he's back that guitar nasty damn they're all bound down to Ichigo this is kind of sick dude this is sick as [ __ ] oh my God whoa this is crazy what the hell bro whoa [Music] what the hell that was like beautiful and epic and intense oh there's the oh wow they showed that in the op what the hell see we had no idea what it was yeah we didn't okay so zengetsu and yuhabak they look so similar we've seen them we still haven't gotten really anything any information about that is that two blades you wanna go back I mean that and then when he's walking away oh oh yeah it does look like that baby boy maybe hitsugaya oh cute oh oh oh now I like that I like that mentality I [ __ ] love the visors man [Music] why why are you still so attached to that man [Music] he's nasty little freaking experiments everywhere Korea what is it can't see intense very intense there he is what the hell it's like the never-ending Story dragon I know and I want to learn more about your clan I know [Laughter] [Music] I hope they come out and fight that'd be sick damn what the hell are these things yes I want to see more of this I want to know whose ass is that oh okay he's in he's here he's here he's here don't panic now for very much longer [Laughter] crazy oh ah good God Zach you're all sick sir I know foreign [Applause] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] so what you mean [Music] oh [ __ ] that's what they've been conspiring about since the very beginning that is confirmed that is what it is he's been pretending that's why there's always been two in there that's why they look so yeah he's that's why there's two it's not that they look similar he is here yeah crazy Society wow of course whoa dude yo this is crazy face crack like yeah face crack of the century yeah manifested bro this makes too much sense no foreign foreign that's this new yeah wait let's do some cocktail yeah but it's like it's like glowing it's like imbued with like some Quincy energy or what what the hell your true zanpakto so many you know chapters episodes and I want to see him I want to see it oh my God oh my God let him cook yeah hell yeah dude hell yeah oh let's go all the water's gone it evaporated holy [ __ ] you are me holy [ __ ] don't be over please oh Crystal yeah yeah he looks real good I don't buy it though holy [ __ ] we finally got it the explanation holy [ __ ] shooty [ __ ] that was incredible I'm so glad we finally got all that information uh okay so so okay let me unpack a little bit in my in my head so it is like he said it is and it isn't you hobok the reason he looked maybe a little different was because he was manifested as a younger version of yuhabok that represented the Quincy Powers within him but it's also because he does Quint uh U-Haul box blood is flowing through all Quincy um but that makes so much sense then the whole time that every other character that we've ever met every other Soul Reaper Shinigami from the very beginning has always had one presence you know in them zabimaru I forget you know some people was like I don't know it always sticks in my head um you know and and yeah one presence but you were every time it was two you just kind of assumed that it was because of the hollow yeah it wasn't anything else you weren't like oh that's kind of weird it was just like oh that makes sense because he is you know he got the holified in him uh so you never really like questioned it and you never really questioned why for me like zengetsu and yuhabok looked so so similar um and I mean even now I'm trying to think about you know even watching some of the anime hearing The Voice or anything like I'm like were they that similar were they really um but yeah that that makes that makes a lot of sense and it's just so beautiful and so poetic like you were saying in our discussion on the um last episode just to bring all these Concepts and themes together like Ichigo is the physical manifestation of all of these Concepts like in one body in one mind like it's and it would only make sense for him to be able to make a not a men's but like to fight on the front lines because he does represent both parties yes yes he he has uh you know he has skin in both games I guess uh that's not how you say that uh but um it's also crazy too because white okay let's talk about white Eisen being an Eisen sort of qualification experiment it seems as if it was you know all of these uh Shinigami Souls kind of like stacked on top of each other you know combined to create this this uh this this being white which is now inside of of Ichigo and even though zengetsu was helping um Ichigo he even says like I was I was the one that was always kind of like suppressing it like I was the one that wasn't always like wasn't allowing you to fully reach your true potential um because I mean he probably would have allowed him if he went the Quincy way well yeah and it was a part of but that's what was so crazy because it's not it is you how back but it's not because he said like the whole time I wanted you of course I I was hoping and you kept going down this Shinigami path despite the pain despite all of it but uh you know still at the end at the very end there he was at he was at peace he was he was still glad to have been a part of all this to have like I don't know been there um even though Ichigo ultimately chose a path that he might have not wanted him to choose well I mean that's kind of like the complexities between like the complexity like how yuha Bach as a character is so complex because like it is that like relationship where like you're a soldier but like also my son also my daughter you know like it is that weird relationship that he has with all of the quincies and I think that Zen gets you kind of like embodied that part of him as a character more so than like the ruthlessness and everything like that it was more of like a fatherly love that he had for Ichigo because he just didn't want him to get hurt and he always said that I just don't you get her I don't want you to like you know anything to happen to you so I think that is also just kind of telling to like you know we see how ruthless yuhabok is and we did see him just completely disregard people in the fight but also we got that moment too when he sees like his past like pretty much like family like murdered but was that him or was that someone pretending to be him at that time oh yeah I guess maybe he was like he wanted to get in method acting he's like this is how he's crazy that's right that's right I forgot um but who knows who knows um but if that is just an inkling that is I like that complexity of the character versus like I'm just bad I'm just bad like I have no feelings you know like I don't know I mean some people might disagree and be like well that's a good villain but I mean yeah yeah I I think this whole uh Bach thousand year blood War Arc all of it has been phenomenal being you know Ichigo being the physical manifestation of these two worlds these these enemies I mean like three worlds yeah an existing existing as three yeah existing as uh as uh all of them and seeing that that struggle within himself and having these parts of himself sort of conflict and combat each other when he really kind of needs to be at peace with everything that is inside of him yeah I mean down to and and it's about everything down to like literally like oh like I have to figure this out but also internally likes and gets you like the hollow and myself sure it's so much I mean it could be looked at through the lens so many different lenses I guess like this realizing and discovering like who you are as a person but also it could embody so many other things you know because you have these like dark parts of you these parts you know that you might be ashamed of or or you know things inside of you that you're not proud of but coming to terms with all of those things but then it's like your history your ancestry like where you came from and also understanding not just who you are now but how you came into this world like looking back on your lineage to discover like you know the power of of of every every person that led up to your life being being in existence like I mean I mean this one episode like took everything everything to a completely new level like through the stratosphere and it all makes so much sense like I said none of it none of it that that zengetsu reveal none of it feels like convoluted yeah it doesn't feel yeah yeah yeah and some of the times I had felt that in this series in the beginning of just like this is not this this is actually this and I'm like okay you guys come on but now this feels like like I said complete it makes sense in the scheme of the story it's not just a thing to power up Ichigo I guess and also like to the power-up point you know I think and I could be wrong about this but we talked about white and I think that's where I was going on my train of thought uh uh on white white being you know um this experiment by Eisen that was all of these uh had all of these like Soul Reaper Souls it was a result of like all of these you know Soul Reapers [ __ ] at me Souls being mashed together whatever um that being inside of it so he had like all of these Shinigami Souls in this one being inside of him and then he also had his Quincy blood inside of him so when and but then he also because his dad was a soul Reaper he also had his own innate Shinigami Powers but his own innate Shinigami Powers never got the chance to Blossom because he was always counting on the power of of white and to an extent zangetsu I mean mainly I mean he even says zengeti also said like to uh you know like every time you ask me for help it wasn't really me helping you it was more the hollow and that's why I kind of got so out of control yeah for him most of the time but that's why he also and again there's like it's like reframes everything because when when uh Ichigo would be in in danger and and something would happen and his life would be on the line uh and he'd be at risk of losing everything it would be the hollow who would that would come out and Yeah previously through through a different lens we always saw that as like oh this is you know his this is like the evil inside of him like taking advantage of his weakness and and taking control of him but it was actually the one part of it was actually trying to like help him yeah um but yeah so he's been using and relying on like White's power uh and and to an extent like his his Quincy of power but he has his own innate um spiritual pressure well yeah he has really that he is really like neglected to to nurture because he's been and he's neglected to nurture as Quincy Powers too because he had no idea yeah he had no idea yeah so now that he knows I mean it'll definitely that's why he has too you know I mean it just all makes so much sense and it gives it gives such a great reason to why he was always so powerful um what is I think sometimes maybe can be a little frustrating and just this is just with I think Shonen in general as we get this explanation so far into the into the series because for so long you know it was this question of like damn and you know when we were reading it early on reviewing it on our Channel people would always tell us in the comments like there's a reason they'll explain it they'll explain it they'll explain it and you know you kind of start to feel and understand why as it goes on and on and on and on but this really is the definitive explanation as to to everything yeah um but it does I mean it really does give so much sense to you know a lot of the things that happen yeah protagonist just being stronger than everybody um this is a good way to do that yeah masterful way to do that and I did like the I mean like it did happen later in the story but I do like the build up to everything because it just allows for more mystery because I feel like if I knew about what happened to ichigo's Mom like way sooner it wouldn't have uh hit as hard I think right yeah no for sure and that's what I like about bleach and love about bleach is even in this last episode here there are still so many things that we don't fully understand malicious never really super in your face about its themes for sure and and how everything works because we even saw the vizart at the end who is now a a a captain or assistant Captain I forget her name um first with an M I think I forget uh so many characters sorry but um you know there was this whole and maybe it's uh expanded upon in the light novels or maybe it has sort of been hinted at more than I remember but we were told you know her qualification process like she was the she was the one to not only like I think achieve and and Conquer it the fastest but it's also the only one who can use it for as long as she can and she seems to have this like different sort of relationship with uh with it than everybody else she doesn't seem as tormented by it as like maybe some other people do and we really and we we've like had all these like little hints as to like you know her being incredibly powerful but it's never like fully shown and I feel like that is all throughout bleach they're I mean even with kimpachi and you know his unpakto and you know like so many other things too sprinkles of all of these things it's never super in your face but it's all there and and I really appreciate that in uh in a in a series something being not so in your face all the time same thing with zengetsu it was all there but it was never really like explicitly thrown in your face I mean this was incredible I mean it was like thrown in your face like this character looks identical to this other character I would say like maybe that was throw but but there was like there's I mean we had no idea who johabak was until this this moment nobody did yeah so it's like oh okay yeah I could see that looks weird yeah they look similar and the reason that they might look even slightly different which is another Master stroke to me is that of course you get the sunglasses you get the the fire fit you know what I'm saying gets you always had that fire fit but he's a little younger too um because he is a physical or a manifestation of uh Bach from like a thousand years ago I think they said or something like that so there can be a reason for him to look slightly different while also kind of looking almost exactly the same um it's just the facial hair yeah it's definitely the facial hair you're swaggy yeah he's yeah I know you hate it every episode the second episode yeah like yeah yeah smaller facial hair right right I mean look we have talked about um you know reading the manga there's so many things I I I want to say more things I want to say um just about these two episodes about this core as a whole um maybe a few of them we can just touch on really quickly but you know we had talked before recording about really wanting to do a sort of like entire part one retrospective and you know manga comparison at a certain point we had tried to do it um every couple of episodes but it just ended up being like way too much with everything else we have going on so we might just wait till the end of each core to do that and so now is the time for us to do it with Discord um we don't know exactly when we'll be doing that but we're going to start working towards it as soon as we can but I do want to touch on a couple more things um just really quickly I mean I don't mind now because when we came into this season you know we you know bleach has so many characters that you fall in love with and you want like with with so many like well written characters that sometimes feel like they don't always get as much time as you would like them to have like we came into this I think really wanting to see because there's so many things we haven't even seen like I wanted to see more Chad I wanted to see more Orihime I wanted to see more Rukia renji and it very much you know had them sprinkled throughout barely rookie are probably the least yeah I know she back burner back burner so I'm hoping the next core to get more of her I'm sure but who knows we never really got the payment uh of the uh the the teas I guess uh Grim job being with udahata and Orihime and Chad like oh yeah yeah being there we never really got to got to see Ichigo uh and then reunite in any way but again it is all in service to everything else that's happening everything else is happening and that's why like even though I wanted that because these are characters I care about like it needed to be this which is why I love it so much um but the last thing we have to talk about before we go is just the ending the post-credit sort of um I mean yeah it was kind of like a we kind of predicted that yeah yeah I don't think like it you know I think most people would have predicted oh yeah for sure and yeah it will be a situation of like I was just laying low and trying to figure out weaknesses and stuff um I I think that would use full of [ __ ] because of that information that we just learned about like you were saying um in the previous discussion yeah he's gonna infiltrate and just pretend get information and uh because he now knows um I don't think he knows necessarily about ichiko's mom being a Quincy um but he's going to know for sure um that uh that Ichigo is because each other's probably gonna tell them um if he sees them or something but I think his dad's not gonna be too happy about him joining the Quincy revolutionary Army yeah I don't know either I don't know how his dad would feel about that at all and I think his dad would possibly even be the one to tell him or have told him just like sort of um ishin and Ichigo had that moment maybe udio and his father had a similar moment where they were where he was open and honest with him about the past this led I mean yeah yeah no he was like go go read my the book like I'm not gonna tell you anything I'm not gonna have a conversation with you you think we talk no way uh different relationships entirely with those two um and I think that because of that because of the relationship it's so different there's no communication like he was able to just take that leap without consulting his dad because he doesn't I mean what like he doesn't care that could be also another theme at play um and who do you could genuinely be working with them at first because of that point that you just made showing and illustrating the difference between like a parental relationship with open communication versus you know a parental relationship where you shut your child out because you feel like they don't deserve to know or that it's you know not really their concern or you know you're trying to or that you're trying to protect them which is the case with a lot of I think you know parents they try to protect their children so much so that their children end up rebelling yeah and this could be that Nia's daddy issues for sure he has daddy issues for sure is she does so he's like who's my new Daddy I mean he's everybody's Daddy yeah so it could be that Megan you might have just convinced me that it might be him genuinely joining up because of because of that uh to to just like I said illustrate that that sort of dynamic because a sense of belonging I mean because I definitely felt like I think yeah you're right no I mean or Hime Chad Ichigo I mean there's just moments where he just was like the odd man out sometimes and whether he made himself believe that or it was just kind of the case where it's like I'm just you know a Quincy and I'm like the last of my kind you know it's like being with other people that you're like are the same as you and fighting for a cause that you might think is fair at that time like wow I don't know man um but I'm excited I'm so excited man this was I mean this is exceeding I don't know man but I'm excited I haven't succeeded every expectation I had yeah this exceeded every expectation I had please trans eating really good too good too good too good um but you had talked about and this will probably be more so in our retrospective conversation but you know you had talked about someone who has again I had I had no idea um about the revelation of uh of the zengetsu um you know sort of uh Bach thing again there were things that I like I had I had known um that uh ichigo's mom was a Quincy that was something that I knew and I kind of I kind of uh I kind of speculated that towards the end of what we Last Read um I was like I mean if it because I knew that this Arc was going to be a battle between Quincy's and Soul Reapers um so I was like assuming because we don't really know about Mom and there's going to be people like there's gonna be reveals later like you're saying there's a big reveal and I kind of like was like okay well maybe probably it's gonna turn out to be a Romeo Juliet you know Capulet what's the other guy with Capulet and Montague's you know that type of thing and then it's like he he's already like kind of living Between Two Worlds and that would even make a bigger um divide I guess for him to have to deal with just being these two things and for for it being a secret and I knew like I mean yeah and the fact that uriu like was kind of involved in all this and he just likes to keep secrets he just loves a good secret like this fool is chock full of them um knowing that he was involved like it of course it makes sense of how he's been throughout the story just in everything just has his hands in like everything everything but again it makes so much sense yeah um but what I was going to say is and going forward I know absolutely nothing like the the last like big thing that I knew again because I was a fan of bleach when I was like a young young boy uh in high school and and even uh yeah early on in high school um the only thing I had kept up with and sort of checked in on when I checked in on bleach was the the ichigo's mom being a Quincy thing but again I didn't know the story beats surrounding it I just literally was like I don't know we're all young and we all have our our moments in our life where we're in and out on things but for whatever reason at that time I was just kind of like checking in for the big the big things but that was the last thing so this uh zangetsu's situation of reveal I had no idea about and then everything going forward from this point on I have even less of an idea I know I know absolutely nothing I wonder if there's gonna be any like like more deaths going forward more deaths um and that's the thing too even even though even though even though I uh knew the the ichigo's mom was a Quincy thing um there were so many things like the Yamamoto death I I didn't know about like again yeah I did not know that again I don't know where my [ __ ] head was I was just checking in on the story because it was a story that I had loved but then had like not falling out of love with in any way but just life had become my life had become different well back then I mean it wasn't my priority at that time yeah and you don't you didn't have like a like a you know phone that you could just pull up Shonen Jump yeah desktop a desktop or buy them physical you know at that time but it was mostly I was reading scans back in the day what yeah are you serious yeah cause I yeah that back in the day that was back in the day that was before the the app you couldn't even really do you know I know be able to buy physicals if you were going to do anything um but that's what I think scans were more of uh uh more like you know it was more like uh morally okay to like race games because there was no alternative yeah there's a lot of that with uh like Shojo manga just because it's not published in English and because there's not an audience it's like they're at like literally like like they have to do this because you guys aren't doing it right publishing anything um but yeah there's sometimes worse necessity for certain yeah stories but we can go on forever but I just want to say to um I guess my whole long roundabout way of getting to this point was that like I was just concerned and I wondered about your concern because of what we had heard you know we read Bleach all the way through starting from the very beginning to prepare for the Thousand Year blood War Arc uh Megan for the first time need to kind of Refresh on the things that I had forgotten up into this point um and then we had kind of heard you know throughout the bleach fandom the Thousand Year blood work was not amongst people's favorite which is which is interesting and I am interested to at least read after we've watched all this I don't know how many chapters in between I have to look it up um for this first core but I am interested to see the differences uh between this um it could be you know it could not be just in its whole it could just be the ending of this art it could be it could be because people have a really bad problem with endings just any ending in general the manga most people are not happy with it so it's like I I'll believe it when I read it uh but people just have problems with endings in general so but I'll say that the setup of this that we've seen so far has been phenomenal yeah yeah yeah yeah for sure and that's why I say like reading versus watching I mean like how can you not love what you're watching here it's just like gorgeous I mean it's like insane that we're getting this and I totally I mean we talked about it before we'll talk about it more in the restaurant but like the r is so so good and it's so close to Cuba like it's insane I mean Kubo himself considered himself I mean he works so closely on this season um that he considered himself like an animator he didn't animate anything he considered himself part of the animation team he did all the uh the very intricate uh chiseled jaws and everything no that needs to be more chiseled Ichigo needs to look more chiseled it's something about the eyes that the anime the previous anime was neat not they were not getting it and sometimes they would but most of the time most of the time they wouldn't and the Jaws yeah yeah the Jaws are like that's like that's like when I think of Kubo I think of like strong yeah facial features it was so great his artists it's so it's okay I mean there's more obviously I don't want to discredit me like Jaws I only think of Jaws uh but yeah it's just been a great ride thus far and July is probably going to be here before I know it and uh in the meantime just just waiting on that it's exceeded every expectation I had and I was so [ __ ] excited again as someone who was so close and had such an obsession with bleach um when I was younger that's why this whole journey like rereading all of it with you Megan and getting to share that experience with everybody who watched those episodes has been so like amazing and such a beautiful and incredible experience leading up to this anime coming back after 10 years we're finally through the first core and we still have more to go um I'm just so lucky and I feel like this is such a time to be a uh a just bleach fan for a long time you know we we never thought we would get this we never thought this anything like this would happen and to get to go back and to re-experience you know this or experience parts of it for the first time again with the community is just such an incredibly special special thing and uh yeah I'm I'm it's like reignited my passion and my love for the story and these characters and Kubo of course is an artist and a mangaka um but uh yeah I mean so far the next core like I was just gonna like rank I mean we haven't finished this Arc at all entirely but so far it's kind of up there oh yeah for me too on my list I mean again we're talking about watching versus reading I don't know how I feel about reading it I mean I'm sure if it's just the source material I'd probably like it too but you know I'm uh we're both suckers for lore and we're both suckers for backstory and information and tie-ins and Concepts being actually used for the bigger picture I guess so this is like everything that is there's a culmination of everything yeah which is like that's great it feels like an ending it feels like it's ramping up for an ending which I like because sometimes an ending it is just like I mean what better way to end than a war like an all-out oh man so it's just been executed so well I feel uh we could go on forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and we probably will in a separate video but uh we have to end this one
