I Will Make This House Like... | Sermon by Kenny Shelton

[Music] hello and welcome to 3abn worship hour we're so glad you decided to join us today i believe by the grace of god there's going to be a message that will touch hearts and lives because the holy spirit has promised through the word of god that his word would not return void so we're glad you joined us today we're going to be talking about a subject warning messages and i think we live in an hour where there needs to be warning messages things that not only applied back you know before christ but after christ and the hour that we're living in right now i'm going to be talking about a subject here that i will make shiloh notices this house like shiloh i will make this house like shiloh what does that mean well i pray by the grace of god as we study the word you're going to find out you may say well i've heard the story before we pray that god will put in some things with the power of the holy spirit that will enlighten us that god means what he says god means what he said he's not joking around we're living too close to the end of time and certainly we need the direction of the holy spirit i'm going to pray right now i'm going to kneel and i'll ask you where you can if you can deal with me please do so if not please be in the attitude of prayer let's pray together shall we our kind loving heavenly father we thank you for the privilege of prayer once again thankful that we can call you our father lord i come before thee asking right now forgiveness of sin anything in my heart or life that needs not be there i just ask that you would cover it with your blood lord we need forgiveness we need a clean hands and clean heart we need to hear from heaven we don't need to hear from man what man thinks what his ideas are but we need to hear from heaven so we pray that you would bless us now with our holy spirit come near each and every heart and every mind and may the things of earth now grow strangely dim as we spend this valuable time with you and we thank you in jesus name amen again the message is i will make this house like shiloh now interesting title we've all heard i'm sure about shiloh and it's very interesting because we'll touch on just a little bit as we go but you know toward the end i want to look at this toward the end of the the period of the judges you know eli certainly was the high priest and uh he was working god was working with him and through him and then here comes samuel and so he was educating and training samuel for his work that would take eli's place and notice it's very interesting something happened shiloh was a place that where the law of god was there for at least what 300 years 300 years the ark of the covenant was there but all of a sudden now the philistines come in and they take the the ark of the covenant and now all of a sudden then shiloh is destroyed why well simply just like today because of sin because of the issue open sin it was with the uh high priest it was with the priest's son it was with the people and so sin was rampant and watch how god operates we pray through this study you'll see it because we can see it may be happening in the church it may be with our local group it may be with wherever it might be but remember god is the same today yesterday right and forever praise god for that i'm very grateful and thankful you know i want you to take your bible if you will and we're going to read a couple passages of scripture there'll be some by the way that i'll go through quickly i'll try to mention they're not going to be on the screen so that means you jot them down because if we put everything on the screen probably haven't had time for anything else but we'll jot them down that way you can read them yourself we're going to be going and reading second kings chapter 2 second kings chapter 2 verses 23 and 24. ii kings if you've got your bible i hope you do you're going to miss something if you don't second kings chapter 2 verses 23 and 24 and i always like to say the bible says the bible says this and he went up from fence unto bethel now who is that that's elisha notice this and as he was going up by the way there came forth little children out of the city and they mocked him and said unto him go up thou bald head go up thou bowl head and he turned back and he looked on them and notice what the bible says he cursed them in the name of the lord and there came forth unto two she-bearers out of the wood and tare 40 and two children of them my powerful powerful example given here of how god views those who labor and work for him kind of interesting what took place here you had those who laugh you have those who mock those who you know just maybe have a different point of view and they're always going out after the people of god or having something to say about to try to criticize or condemn or tear down or they just simply don't agree now notice god's saying here i want you to have respect for those who i have called which i have chosen god says have respect for them and the work that i've called them to do now again we have to look at it are they following the word of god i'm not going to have respect personally for somebody who's not following the word of god just can't do that but they're following the word of god absolutely sounds like a harsh punishment when i read this right here about these young children because some people who read this and i've talked to several maybe not students of the word of god maybe not even the christian they get a little bit upset about these passages and say well how could god do that why would he allow something like that to take place interesting so it sounds like a harsh punishment does it not these here's these young people out there maybe playing in the woods and they see elisha he's going along here and all of a sudden they want to make a little bit of fun of him i don't know that's not an easy thing to go through as you well know if somebody maybe is poking a little bit of fun at you or laughing at you but anyway they decided they was going to have a little bit of fun with him and they decided you know what remember this was a solemn event that had just taken place elijah had just been translated by a miracle of god into heaven and now we realize that elisha was to take over so god he was god's appointed man to do a specific work he was directed by god i like to think in terms of heaven came down i love that song heaven came down and glory filled my soul i hope it does yours today but you know as you look at this here's the man of god miracles associated with what's going on and now these young people come by and they say well let's paraphrase a little bit i want to call the ungodly use they're laughing at him and they call him out and they said you know what tell him just go on up basically get on out of the way we don't want you here we never called you here why are you here sometimes you might hear that from people you're trying to study with maybe whole meetings with and uh you know we like realize here that elisha was god's appointed messenger and somebody and these use were messing with god's man and so what happens well we realize that satan all of a sudden was he do anytime he has an opportunity to come in he comes in remember let's make sure we don't open up any kind of doors because any kind of door that's opened up where satan can stick his nose in he will cause division and separation among god's people we think about the the the work the hurt that was even in involved here and what was going on the mockery of these young men what if god had just let it go what if god had just let it go what would it done i think there was more more people around there's more witnesses to this than just what the bible is giving an account to because there would have been many people who would have looked at this thing if nothing had taken place and they would just walk down and say hey we can treat god's appointed men the way we want to treat them look what happened here and they got away with it was god overlooking things i think he was no he wasn't overlooking a thing but he was looking at things and that change was about to take place now remember if nothing had been done elijah's work would have been did you get it it would have been held back had been closed people may not accept it the way god wanted to and here if nothing had been done the enemy would have won a victory we need to think about every time that the enemy sticks his nose his mind his head whatever it in the work we need to take a stand on the issues you've been doing that have i been doing that only by the grace of god we want to for sure i want to give you just a food for thought this is not be on your screen but i found this in patriarchs and uh prophets and kings page 236 notice this it just gives a little encouragement why did god allow this to happen to these youths well here's what it says the so-called tenderness the coaxing and the indulgence used toward youth by parents and guardians is one of the worst evils which can come upon them now that's pretty heavy duty most parents don't want to hear we all think we're doing it we've done a good job or you know some of us who have raised ours already we say oh i you know by grace of god i'd like to done a lot better i didn't do so well but sometimes we're in the middle of raising them we're thinking we're doing an awful good job but and we're do it by by babying them and not correcting them and evidently this use had not been corrected again i'm going to read that because some of you didn't get that i i'm sure the so-called tenderness well i'm going to take care of her i was treated rough when i was growing up and so therefore i'm going to let them have a lot of freedom the coaxing and the indulgences oh honey if you'll do this we'll get you an ice cream if you'll do this we'll you follow my thinking here does that always work well notice if it's used toward the youth by the parents or guardian notice what it says here's the key it is one of the worst evils which can come upon them in every family notice that here's what's needed every family firmness decision positiveness positive requirements are essential you know that's something we need to consider as we're raising our children for the honor and glory of god they must be taught to respect those in leadership respect one another respect your neighbors and your friends we you know we lived in town as we grew up we were taught to respect our neighbors property you know we didn't be you know jumping over their hedges and taking things and doing and you know just living right close by we were taught to respect our neighbors and be careful what we would say to them that's the way it should be respect and reverence showed and this should be shown for god's representatives too don't you believe that i believe that there's no doubt about it you know if we would do this my what a different world we would live in today maybe you can trace some of these things back to what is taking place in the world right now is because maybe we as parents didn't do the best job we could have done with our children and raising them and teaching them and training them in the admonition of the world now think about what happened because of what happened to these youths the two she bears came out of the woods and and they killed them but for the next 50 years that elisha worked all around the community in the cities and about nations not one person is recorded scripture not one person ever laughed at him again no one ever mocked him again in that interesting or made light of his qualifications as a prophet of god one lesson and then he had the freedom to go about and the people knew that he was chosen of god and let me tell you talk about children of god the holy spirit does the choosing isn't that right and equipping of god's people today not necessarily men or a group of men or somebody votes that we should do this or we should do that you're qualified by the unction of the holy spirit of the living god turn with me if you will to jeremiah chapter 26 jeremiah chapter 26 there's something here i think would be good for us to read right now jeremiah chapter 26 i'm going to read verses 4 through 6. jeremiah chapter 26 4-6 and thou shall say unto them thus saith the lord if you will not hearken and to walk in my law which i have set before you notice verse 5. to hearken to the words of my servants the prophets whom i have sent to you both rising up early and sending them but ye have not hearkened verse 6 says then i will make the house like shiloh and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth that's that's to me it's pretty heavy duty when we look at it the prophet's responsibility the prophet's duty is to warn the people to teach the people the demands of the law of god there's something that god has called them to do and they must do that in order to be effectual in order to be that which god has called them to do to make it clear to make it plain today we have people to get up and they talk about this and that person you still don't know what all they've talked about here it needs to be clear and plain in these here these last days that the people might understand it and then be by the grace of god to change jeremiah chapter 7 verse 13 notice what it says jeremiah 7 verse 13 just a line or so here but i think it's very very interesting jeremiah 7 13 saying rising up early and do what and speaking just part of that what does that mean rise up early in speaking god's basically telling us there is no excuse for us see no excuse for us to go down the wrong path he said because i'm sending you prophets i'm doing it early as it were early what while there's still time early where there's still time to make changes and then i'm going to do it late at night god's saying i'm going to give you time sometime plenty of time to make the right choices and the right decision and yet you still won't listen what more can he do the word speaking is an interesting word as far as far as i'm concerned when you're speaking we should be speaking with conviction when we speak we should speak earnestly and that word actually means we need to speak continuously now how many of us really are speaking continuously about the coming of jesus the good news getting the gospel to the world warning the world of what's coming upon it as an overwhelming surprise how many of us really doing that continuously very kind of interesting because i hear people say sometimes well we get tired of of warning messages we get tired you know we we want to hear something else you know maybe something sweet something nice and what we are living in a time where god's people need to be warned warned of what's taking place those things that are taking place where they could lead and are we ready for that we need to be speaking continuously we need to be rising early we need to be speaking late we need to be speaking constantly about the coming of jesus and the necessary preparation to be ready oh yeah we can tell story after story and things are exciting but how about being prepared it's interesting most people say well i'm prepared to me look and the first little thing that happens they fall apart you ever had that to happen oh i'm ready i'm ready i'm ready and pretty soon a piece of mail's lost or something like that and they fell the pieces and have tests i'll let that go you know what i'm talking about here are we really ready some self-examination here jeremiah 7 25 tells us this jeremiah 7 25 tells us since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of egypt unto this day i have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets you talk about you talk about exciting at least to me it's exciting when you look at these verses here rising up early and sending them what does god say to you right now he said ever since you came out of the land of egypt i've been leading and guiding and directing ever since you came out of babylon as it were since you came out of the world you have a god that is leading and guiding and directing in your life he's guiding your footsteps he's wanting to guide your thoughts and your actions and your deeds that's the kind of god that's keeping a watchful eye on you because it's not try to condemn you it's trying to help you and to try to help me he said i've sent i wonder how often that maybe god has sent someone to you maybe to your door maybe someone at work maybe someone you know just they might be you bump into and they're really there because god has set the meeting up and that we should be listening to what they have to say but many times we just thought oh is this coincidence no not is it where's god really leading the way like he says he is he says i'm going to send you people i'm going to send the prophets he said i do i'm daily rising up early and sending them. no i see a call here was made for the people simply just to listen and i wonder if we might do that today there's just a call the holy spirit is making a call right now on those who say oh i belong to god's last day church the remnant church well wonderful i'm a follower of jesus christ how wonderful but he's making a call for you and me right now than him to listen and then to react and god said if you don't he said i'll do the same to you as it had done to shiloh sometimes we think that the you know certain buildings are certain this or that's blessed nothing can happen to them listen unless we follow god's plan be very careful we're you know as adventists we're awaiting the balances of the sanctuary so we need to match up do we not with the word of god or god may do to us what he did to shiloh individually could be corporately it could be god only knows but here the warning is well i'm rising up early i'm sending you prophets i'm sending you warning after warning will you listen so we too must be very careful than how we react don't shouldn't we let me just throw something out to you and you throw it back if you want to i always say that because i think it's interesting you know shiloh here if we look at some definitions and what's going on there was a shiloh the word means i think it was peace giver peace giver shiloh you say listen carefully shiloh was the headquarters of israel somebody chewed just a little bit chew just a little bit shiloh was the headquarters of israel you say well i'm not sure about that well reads patriarchs and prophets page 5 14 on that sea you remember the ark of god we mentioned what was located at the headquarters you get that at the headquarters there for over 300 years until sin became so bad in there the high priest so corrupt because he wouldn't train up his children the right way he wouldn't make them do what they they should have done he didn't want to do it because if he was forced to go ahead and make them do what they should do as priests in there he would have to take them out and stone them and kill them he didn't have the backbone to make them do anything let alone kill them he end up dying of course his son's dying as you well know and the ark was taken as you study all of that's interesting it wasn't necessarily the deaths you see eli's two sons you know why because eli was warned over and over before this took place with his sons god told him previous to this through samuel this is what's going to happen to you and your sons if you don't right do follow what god has said in his word do you think god reacts the same way today with us what could happen to us if we're not following god's plan well i want to be ready to meet jesus and i know you do too huh because of sin the ark fell into the hands of the philistine and then what a mess as you well know that goes through there we need to be careful that we don't reject any warnings that god has given us in his word even though you don't like to hear him i hear about it i hope he will we don't want to hear that well that's all we're going to hear you need to be warned i need to be warned you know you don't just put up you've got a vicious dog in the neighborhood you don't put a sign up there for one week and say vicious dog if you get close to it he's going to rip your arm off do you and then next week the guy takes the sign down leave the sign up leave it up see that's it the warnings continue to come because the same dog is there the same enemy we're dealing with day in and day out and he's going to bite you he's going to rip you apart if he can we need to hang on because the judgments of god are falling in the land as we well know i'd like to go to second chronicles right now something i think really interesting here second chronicles 36 15 and 16. now remember talking about leveling this town of shiloh because simply simply because what open sin was going on and the ark was taken and it was devastated it was a special place can special places maybe be you know annihilated could it be destroyed when we say oh the temple the temple it's good food for thought second chronicles 36 15 and 16 the bible reads this way and the lord god of their fathers sent to them by his messengers again what rising up early be times that means continued and carefully and sending because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place verse 16. but they mocked the messengers of god and despised his words misused his prophets until the wrath of the lord arose against his people till there was no remedy interesting no remedy it means no healing god let it go to the point do you notice this on it if you look at this it says they mocked how many people really evil in the faith and really as christians were mocking the message of god well he doesn't really mean what he doesn't really mean that things have changed right now what has changed what really has changed in god's word that we can say god views things differently we can do things differently now he's judging us differently than he has before i see no indication of that in the word of god god said i send you i i make sure you understand and i'm sending you remember continuously and carefully i'm sending you these messages and yet so what do the people do they rejected them they mocked the messengers of god they despised his words they misused his prophets i don't know sometimes if you preaching the truth or you're going somewhere and giving bible studies sometimes you're just kind of almost abused by the the people that maybe you're giving studies to i can remember very very well giving studies to a couple of individuals uh several years ago in their home their mother and dad was so mad at their son and his wife because they were taking bible studies uh you know from seventh-day adventist person and so they happened to come in one night and we were having a bible study there and they didn't know that i was there so when they came in they see me there with the bible we're going through the lessons and so on and they just completely turned around and they looked at their son and they said what is he doing here what is he doing here the son said well we ask him to come we're having bible studies you know they said we don't want him here he doesn't need to be here it's like the devil's in the room with us and his son says nicely why don't you go in the other room and just wait till we're done and we'll talk about this later and so they said well we're we we can't stand to be in the same room so i'm standing about like i am right now they had to go between me and the table and go to the kitchen so they made sure they turned their back they turned their back on me and they walk like this kind of interesting it is so interesting that their sons were shedding tears he said i'm so sorry that they acted like that my response wasn't doesn't make it good better i guess my response was they don't know they don't understand me and we have to be forgiving and we move on with that they may feel that way today and maybe tomorrow it's going to be changed but right now it's because they say they love you and they're afraid of what might happen but you're not afraid you're staying the word of god let me just tell you quickly wrap this earlier i had the privilege to baptize mama and dad right i had the privilege to do that a little bit later on about six months down the road not only the son the daughter but mom and dad and so on and so forth see what a blessing what a privilege it is it could have turned out differently but there are people today we realize they're despised the word of god they don't want to hear they want to run down the prophet or they want to run down the teacher or the preacher or the pastor or somebody try to destroy his character so people won't listen oh he's such and such oh i think he did that why do you want to do that why would we haven't we got enough work to do and getting gospel to the world focus on what god has impressed you to do and what he's impressed me to do don't keep continue on until there is no remedy until there is no that probation will be closed as it were for each individual and circumstances doesn't necessarily mean the end of the world but there comes a time in each of our life that time is going to run out there's no healing so again what simply i'm encouraging today to listen as much uh esteem as you may put in certain things in certain people in certain buildings and certain this and certain that it's only certain that god needs to be there it's only certain that the holy spirit of living god is what makes that place special or holy is it not it's his presence we need it there we want it there he wants to give us the message and i always say you know again respect you know those who in authority but i've often said they must they must deserve that respect there's no doubt about it now let's talk a little bit about and some of the time we have quite a bit of time left here because we're talking about the you know people say we need to say things a little bit quieter we need to be a little bit more merciful we need to but watch what we say you know i'm going to be honest with red flag goes up to me that's just me maybe not to you and maybe they're right i don't know i just say oh let's be careful what we i understand we need to be careful and i understand why we're warning the world because of what's soon to take place what is taking place right now the judgments are falling there's no doubt about it in the land no one really wants to hear that but you've got to get it and lay it out by the grace of god lay it out for the people somebody will be stirred somebody will do something you don't want the place destroyed like shiloh you don't want god to turn his back and withdraw his holy spirit which he did from shiloh which was once his place oh we don't want to do that but i want you to just notice with me you've been through this before but just again and not trying to say we need to be too harsh with i do it and i you do it because you care because you care and you're risking losing friends you're risking being pushed aside but you still care praise god i'm glad you do you remember those who reject the prophets you know and prophets were what god's mouthpieces the bible's clear on that the jews or jesus talked to the pharisees and so on so for the scribes and the pharisees and he made this statement found in matthew chapter 23 this is this to me this is interesting this is jesus speaking for those who say well we need to speak more like absolutely we do but notice how jesus spoke here you'll remember in matthew 23 and verses 33 34 and 37 he starts out this way ye serpents well that sounds like trouble right there doesn't it any pastor would get up right now and say well you a bunch of serpents you pit vipers you snakes well you may be in trouble may look around to be no one in the congregation jesus talked about here he said talking scribes and pharisees you serpents here notice this ye generations of vipers look at those words serpents here serpents here ye serpents is is a snake translation is a snake it's something that is sly the devil is sly you know that something that is malicious and you could just say right it's the enemy generation of vipers and i thought vipers what vipers is adders they're poisonous snakes jesus calling it the way he saw it here he said how can you escape and he come he put it on the bottom line how can you escape the damnation of hell whoo man that's that's powerful isn't it get up there and using all this stuff serpents and vipers and damnation that's condemnation surely and of hell and that you know translation was gehenna and that's certainly the place you know in jerusalem place of uh you know where they burnt stuff punishment verse 34 says therefore behold i send unto you prophets here we go again jesus says i send to you prophets i send wise men and scribes notice this and some of them ye shall kill and crucify see when we read that a lot of christians say well yeah they sure did man they killed a lot of prophets of old what's g this is new testament time jesus was speaking here and he's saying in even in the future come on somebody somebody in he said in the future notice it and some of them ye shall kill and crucify could that possibly take place as it were in good old united states of america in this world evidently it just wasn't the old testament prophets here something in the future he says some of them you shall scourge and notice in your synagogues and persecute them from city to city some of you may be persecuted as it were from city to city people may be trying to drive you out they may not be doing it physically but they're doing it verbally shame on anybody we're trying to do that verbally those of us who should be shoulder to shoulder working together believing this message with our whole heart we may do it a little differently than somebody else would do it but man i'm telling you listen to what's being said is it truth based upon god's word please keep that in mind jesus had said with all this business going on the so-called christians those who were right with god as were they scribes in the fair arab they simply said god looked upon and jesus looked on me said oh jerusalem verse 37 o jerusalem them that kill us the prophets and stone us them which are sent unto thee he wept over jerusalem because they would not listen he's done everything he could possibly do and my concern comes back are we doing everything that we know to do to warn our brothers and our sisters or are we just playing around one holiday after and next just messing around having fun going to party going to picnic going this going i'm not saying some of those things are wrong i'm just simply saying it are we spending okay i hear something i always say oh now are we spending too much time doing that when we should be warning the world sin has to go there has to be time spent alone with god that we may have the mind of christ christ will say the same thing to us as he said to the scribes and the pharisees man i've sent them over and over and over he might say i've sent him through 3abn going worldwide here the message is going flowing going going going going the gospel the good news and doom is coming upon this earth and oh we won't listen sunday law is coming upon this earth oh we don't want to listen persecution coming oh we don't want to hear it please think it's coming jesus said that it's coming and should we not weep oh this world this world oh man they're killing the prophets they're killing the preachers and the teachers and trying to get rid of those who are have a message for the hour i want to look at another passage quickly scripture in luke chapter 16 16. this is one that's misunderstood by a lot of people and maybe just a few words on it will help us maybe to bring it into focus i think it needs to be in focus right now luke 16 16. he's talking about the law and the prophets luke 16 16 the law and the prophets it says were written until john since that time the kingdom of god is preached and every man pressed into it what does that really mean again a passage that kind of is confusing and i'm going to put this way if you are a surface if you're a surface reader now that way someone said well now you're offending me i don't know if you are you aren't i'm just bringing it out say if a surface reader will misunderstand this passage of scripture they'll say see it's just the law and the prophets and that's that's way back in the old testament we don't have to worry about that anymore is that really what that's saying when it says the law and the prophets it's simply relating to that the writings of the old testament to the law and the prophets it says until the time of john so what could that possibly mean well talking about john the baptist there's no doubt about it until the preaching of the kingdom of god notice this by john the sacred writings of the old testament was man's guide to salvation did you get it man we're saved man we're saved by what the writings of the old testament because there was nones you see at the beginning of the new testament are you are you still with me that's all they had was the old testament i mean read when you had an opportunity not on the screen but romans chapter three and read verses at least one and two maybe you go down to three but re lead one and two where it talks about the jews were being a little bit different why because they were giving the oracles of god are you are you relating that to the world the oracles of god that he's you know miraculously right says it i want you to give this to the world now let me talk about the ten commandments but it talks about here the word until notice that word the word until in no way implies that the old testament scripture lost any kind of force or any kind of power when john you know talking about john began to preach so what did jesus mean then until the ministry of john the law and the prophets the bible talks about here huh they were all that men had isn't that true what did what did jesus preach and teach out of what did new testament bible writers preach and teach out of it we have to be very careful that we disdain and roll up and turn our back on the old testament the word of god until the gospel came remember the gospel came but it wasn't to replace and it wasn't to annul the moses and the prophets had written but it's just written to reinforce to confirm their writings not on the screen but it makes my mind go back to matthew chapter 5 in 17 what 18 and 19 jesus said don't think that i came to do what i didn't come to destroy the yeah the law of the prophets but he came to fulfill or to what it's made up of oh we need to really be studying the word of god like never before see the gospel message does not stand in the place of the old testament but it's in in addition to if we can put it together the way the bible wants us to it begs to make sense it was the old testament scriptures that the new testament believers used it was the only bible that they had it must have been good right the first generation we talk about new testament church this is all they had to present and jesus says what that's what he preached out of so maybe it's good enough just the word for the thought there today it seems there's little respect for the office of a prophet this seems there's very little respect for the office of a maybe an elder pastor and a church leader some kind of leader some cases in some cases you know what there's less respect there's more respect and i want to be nice about this there's probably more respect out there for for a a good used car salesman than there is from from a pastor for a pastor did you get it some of you will get it it may take a little bit but you'll get it sometimes more respect is shown i'm saying for a used car so nothing against that at all than it is for a pastor or an elder or a prophet of god maybe we need to change our priorities around for some of the same sins that resulted in the fall of judah remember we have to look these are for example these things are written for examples and so we look at these examples and say what we're going to find they're coming right over to today that we need to look at and say this it could be hitting god's last day people it could be hitting his church his people all these abominations that are coming in we let abominations come over the threshold of our church many times and i wonder why is it to get what more people in the pews to get more names that we can send here or there or whatever i'm i'm just talking about it i wonder sometimes my poor little little mind is you know why we used to have you know such a nice big baptismal vows you know this is what we vow do by the grace of god which are true in the word of god and they've been so condensed down that they're very little right now they don't go into specifics even i want you to think about that oh some of you argue that but there's no use to argue that i've got all that proof is though i'm just asking why it seemed like we ought to be to the coming of jesus we ought to be beholding him and want to be more like him and be able to study the word of god and say i want to be more like jesus rather than less like instead of bringing the abominations you know that in ezekiel they're in vision you know judgments of god falling in the land and so on and so forth some of those things are being repeated today and sometimes we say nothing we can be sure this world is doomed we can be sure you call it doom and gloom all you want all the prophets of old old testament time and new testament time told of things that were about to come to pass there would be doom if they came to pass we have that message to give to the world we can follow historically right down the stream of time we can see where we're at god is warning us again he said some of those things will be repeated again ezekiel 8 16 let me just bring this to your attention once again because i think it's so very important tells of the great abominations you remember done in the the lord's house now surely surely there's no abominations that's done in the lord's house now surely there's not we read these things here and we realize what the abominations were so surely we wouldn't allow them or bring them in right now because it might upset somebody in the church we don't want to upset somebody i'm telling you if we don't deal with them we're going to upset god hope that makes sense you don't want god upset we don't want the judgments to fall we don't want god to say well i'm going to have to get their attention because he's abomination he talks about those who were noticed this abominations in the lord's house that the elders and their ones what they were weeping on they were on the porch and the altar and that right they had their backs to the temple what were they doing their focus was toward the toward the east they were worshiping the sun toward the east surely not surely that would go up there's a lot of different ways we can do just exactly what's going on here and not do it like they were doing it but we turn our back on god and many people do because they already know what the word says and then they go do something else it's almost like israel alone said well god doesn't see anymore don't kid yourself god sees everything everything's recorded in he does see and he does here and he doesn't want to help you and he doesn't want to help me sun worship is is i'll tell you one of the abominations ezekiel talked about here again we're talking about this because we allow these kind of things to take place in the church the church will become god's house will become like shiloh his presence will leave it the ark will be taken from it it did it before don't say he won't do it again please just just think a little bit with me is it possible sun worship is you know it came in by the canaanites as you as you will know and found its way into the worship service of the of the kings and judah it's not on the screen but it's in second kings just write it down quickly ii kings uh 23 verse 5. it includes more thing baal worship we're talking about in the church now sun worship moon worship star worship all the host of heaven everything was being worshiped except our creator our redeemer the creators were the real true only god everything was being worshiped how is it that god's people could be so blind spiritually that these things would become a part of it and they would all vouch and all say oh it is good there's nothing wrong with it i pray you haven't gone that far i don't want to have gone that far to see something so obviously and try to justify that it's okay i don't want the presence the holy spirit's present to leave i need the holy spirit of living god god's movement needs the holy spirit in such a way the holy spirit convicts of sin right gives us victory over sin leads us and guides us and directs us but it's not the ways of the world it's not getting along with the world it's not doing things that the world wants us to do it's not feeling pressure from people high up or whatever it might be even in the world where it might be or in the church trying to convict and convert you in a different channel this is simply having your mind stayed upon christ i mean how could it get worse if you look at it here i said surely it couldn't get any worse of worshipping the sun the moon the stars and all that it got worse god's people were burning their own children you know that and again what puts us so above and beyond not that we do these things well we wouldn't burn them today but maybe there's different ways that we could we can burn them god's people don't forget they claim to be and they probably saw a whole lot more than you've seen in your life they saw some manifestations of god they saw miracles worked god spoke to them the prophets came they knew they were prophets of god they knew they spoke the word of truth and yet they sacrificed their children they burnt them lord have mercy the minds must have been so dull the devil had full control no doubt about it ah god's word forbid that as you well know look somewhere in right around leviticus 18. read that chapter and you'll see where god forbids that of you know that offering the children to knowledge remember that sure go ahead take time to read that human sacrifices is it possible we're sacrificing our children or sacrificing our our church we're sacrificing the people of god our brothers and sisters the ones that we're we're working with today we're sacrificing them to knowledge because we won't take a stand for what is truth we will not stand for the duty god said this is duty this is what i've called you to do this is how is how i want you to say it he may not say it that way she may not say it that way but i want you to say it that way i want somebody to hear me it's important because we're not all the same god doesn't expect us to be but he expects the same message to come out you can only tell the truth one way you know that to me this is a warning and i say it nicely to to moms and dads today those who still have that opportunity to do it today i say that there's many who are sacrificing their children to knowledge today oh you say well how could that be how could oh very simple just name a couple of things we're talking about to you know to allow our children to become so absorbed in the customs of the world sending them the places to get educated you know you send them in you send the kids into babylon they're going to be babylonians is that okay to say that there's no doubt about it if you send them to babylon they will become babylonians and then you're going to turn around and say i can't understand how they become little babylonians isn't it time to lay things out at least think about it maybe i'm all wrong why don't you study and see what you come up with we allow our children to be absorbed in the customs of the world participate in what the world is doing you're offering them huh as god's moms and dads talking about our our children we offer them to knowledge how do you do it oh by letting them to maybe 10 parties that they shouldn't be going to well you don't want to upset them they'll get mad at you what did you let them go to oh even dances hmm you let them go to the movies you know seventh day adventist boy my my several years ago that was i better watch my language several years ago that was that was a nightmare you did you we grew up there you no that was that was a den of iniquity movie going and now we come up and say yes but you know what we watch the same things at home i'm calming down just a little bit because i'm think about that kind of justification think about how that's going to stand with god i don't go to the movies anymore and watch all that junk people say well pg's not bad that says parental guidance as far as i understand it and some have the nerve to say well they don't use very many cuss words well how many does it take and then there again we have to look at that situation and then to justify bringing it into the home and saying it's better for them to watch junk see i have to watch myself it's about to come out watching junk in the house and say that's better to watch it there one man said i don't allow my my son to to drink beer outside i tell him if he's going to drink it drinking in here in the house oh come on man what's wrong with us we're offering our children to mullis i'm just talking about a few things here we allow them to run the street and play cards and again going to dances and all kind of evil things and spend a lot of time here 12 13 14 year old we love you too but hey we spend it too much with the opposite sex you spend too much time familiarity 12 13 14 years of age nothing good can come from that now i know some oh somebody's going to justify and carry on look at the odds we need to be very careful with these things we're offering our children to run around with those who don't even know god to go and visit and spend time and stay all night with people who are not godly people you let your children do that you know what goes on in that home and probably scare you as an adult okay maybe i should go on what if jeremiah was alive today buffalo white was alive today um isaiah was alive today what kind of message you think you brutal message back then what do you think would be today jeremiah was called into the prophetic office notice this was 600 years before christ and look at all the information that he gave to us he came back you know about the 13th year of josiah's reign god called him to preach he called him to preach in jerusalem but he preached certainly in other cities of judah interesting now i'll just say many people didn't like jeremiah's message well just join the crowd many people didn't like what he had to say you know what when the message he said he warned the people said if we don't straighten it up where it was in the sanctuary service high priest the priest eli his sons and all the stuff was going on that what however they were how eli was running his house is how thousands you can read in spirit of prophecy how thousands begin to run their house pitiful jeremiah one of his message was what he said we need to be careful he said about the temple he said the temple now will become like shiloh if we're not careful could that possibly beat today when you present the message people become angry when jeremiah preached the message we all agree jeremiah was a prophet of god is that not right that's right he's a prophet of god and he gave the message but the people didn't want to hear the message to what they do poor jeremiah they beat him with a whip and threw him in prison don't expect that's not taking place in maybe different ways today if people don't like what's being said they find ways to get rid of you they thought they'd beat up beat him up and throw him in prison then they finally they end up letting him go remember in the days of jeremiah there was a struggle and power struggle going on for in assyria and egypt and babylon so in jeremiah during that time during the last 40 years of judah's existence as a kingdom gave the message remember 40 years he gave a message of reform and revival and he gave it to five kings why would he give a message if it wasn't needed why would we be talking about things today if it wasn't needed just please think about maybe it's needed consider that it's needed today all the prophets of old did the same thing god gave them a message to give and they did it was 120 years or 30 years or 40 years here like jeremiah here this poor man blesses her i'd love to by the grace of god be able to meet jeremiah in the new earth of course all of them there but here he preached for 40 years and the majority rejected what he had to say he called them to repentance they didn't want to repent if the message he gave fell on sleepy and deaf ears i've often said sometimes by preaching up here a message that god is calling to preach right now somebody's sleeping out there i'll just walk out there and wake him up i'll be somebody in the back all right back in the room like they used to i think was in the catholic or met church they'd tap them on the head we need to tap on the head maybe to wake us up what's going on but the efforts all these messages god-given message accompanied by the holy spirit of the living god couldn't wake up these sleepy deaf people dead people they mocked the messenger of god shiloh is going to be it's going to be leveled even though the messages that he he gave was interesting he said jeremiah gave me it he said bad things bad things has its source and it begins in the heart is this not a true message that he was giving that's not on the screen but read in jeremiah 17. he said it all begins in the heart the heart needs to be changed he preached without a new heart a new heart without new motives and new you know interest we would never make it to heaven we need that today do we not this kind of a change that he preached about can only come by a re-creation of the heart an act of god is that not what we need to hear see we can hear that and we can put those things together by the grace of god and yet a warning message that if we don't here's what's going to happen idolatry just like today uprooted the people from god and sometimes they we well there's no idolatry man look at idolatry anything that takes uh you know undue amount of our mind and time away from doing what god would have us to do right now think of the time we spend on tv think of the time we spend on a computer think of the time we spend unnecessary unnecessarily fooling around we're going to have to pay for that time you do know that it's not trying to scare you in that it's wanting you to think that god values time we have very little time that's left when king josiah read the what we need to say and maybe in the church today what i need in my life you can call it whatever you want me what you need josiah he saw there's problems in the house of the lord and he went about to change it how many people will do that today somebody hire people say don't do that so you don't well if you want your job come on you want your job you won't do that how many value their job more than they do the job that god has given you to do in second kings 23 2 is that he made a covenant with god we're not going to go into all this he made a covenant before the lord to keep his commandments and his testimonies have you made a covenant with god by god's grace and strength that you'll keep his law you'll keep his commandments you'll keep his testimonies his statutes and he said i'll do it with all my heart i want to perform he said the words that are written in the book and he got the book in the bible the 10 command law and he read it before the people of god here's how it went and here's how i'm thinking maybe it ought to go today get up time to read the bible and say this is what god says anyone who want to do what god says if you don't maybe you're at the wrong okay the wrong place nobody wants to hear that it's true somebody gets upset i don't want to do what the bible says well why do you need them there that's the devil coming in here's how it went for him notice what about idolatry you know what he did he went out and he slayed all the priests in the high places and not only did he slay all the priests you know the old enemy and all of their workers those that had familiar spirits the wizards and all the images and all the idols all the abominations even taking the bones of those who were dedicated to pagan altars and what he burnt them but it fulfilled the prophecy there of first kings 13 2. god said it would happen in other words when this man of god made a commitment to the lord right he said listen here all these things that are going on right now the only way i can stop them is get down to the root of this issue somebody's still with me get down to the root of it so he had to go out and slay slay all of those evil priests and all those evil workers and all those that had familiar spirits oh we don't we don't even want to fire somebody we don't want to get rid of somebody somebody does something wrong best thing we can do is pack them up and send them to somebody else's location pray for me we live in an hour of earth's history where people are mocking the word of god that i believe that we're asleep and i want us to wake up i want to wake up i need these messages myself you may not but i know i need them and i need the message when it goes back to jeremiah 3 22. we're going to be closing this our time is running out it says to return ye backslidden children and i will heal your backslidings oh this is my plea today three to be in worship hour is god says return and the problem is we realize we need to return please we need to return we need to re-change we need a reformation we need some changes right now and god says what i'll heal your backsliding are you willing to do that today i want to pray for you i want to pray for you right now and i want you know being much prayer because i know people are making decisions right now because jesus is coming we want to be ready i'm going to kneel let's pray shall we together merciful god in heaven we thank you for your word thank you for your warning thank you for your prophets thank you that you're waking us up right now and the need to be ready for your soon coming o lord help us we pray thank you lord we love you today in jesus name amen we've enjoyed this time with you and we look forward to seeing you next time
