I went to the most DANGEROUS slum in Freetown, Sierra Leone (CHILD LABOR) 🇸🇱

everybody only one meal per day okay so no breakfast no breakfast okay no coffee this is what you use for cleaning yeah it looks very green yeah yeah in the rainy season lots of people just get this stuff oh okay because because the water destroys yeah necessarily every what what a good way to start this video good evening from one of the most dangerous slums in Freetown Sierra Leone where I'm with my friend over there who's going to show me around because it's actually very difficult here you just hold the camera and swim around but this video is not going to be about the dangers of being in this part of town it's actually going to be about the lives how people live here and the struggles so I hope this is going to be an eye-opening experience hope you enjoyed the video can you see it's hard to get the water up and the only way to get the water is to to take it okay so we're gonna go to his house we're gonna take what we call no buckets okay what he said and then we're going to they go to one of these mines there as you can see there's one up there and then they call the stone they break them into tiny parts and then they go down in the town and then they sell them for rebuilding purposes or whatever and one of them told me actually that if you have like a huge bucket I'm not sure how much you can sell them for about 90 which is maybe two or three Euros I'm not sure exactly and that's basically a day's work and as you can imagine these conditions are not the easiest like it's not fun but yeah let's go there and see what they feel about it hopefully I can film it's not easy is full of water over here yeah okay if we cannot walk easily like soon everywhere here and this is the water that you use and for taking for cleaning for everything okay as you can see yeah it's not a lot now yeah it's very dry but this is the end right now of the uh dry season okay so it's not yeah okay maybe in three months man yeah maybe in the next month okay and this is what you use for cleaning yeah why is it very clean it's not it looks very green yeah small holes too okay they're now looking for gold no okay for water okay only looking for water yeah pure water yeah okay so this is why they dig these holes here I see you see because this one is too dirty so they dig here to get to get a clean one to get it anymore yeah I can see that woman right there is also the hammer yeah of course it's the most important one because with the hammer he gets he gets all the Rocks basically and his wife and children are the one who break the Rocks also will just collect from here yeah and then they fall down or down the wife collects them for him and then he you go down later you break them and then your wife and children they sell them yeah and they take them and one of the options is well most people here option for is work in the mines and they break rocks all day which is super tiring for not a lot of money but some people if you have the ability or the talent for it you can open your own shop either you can do welding or as we saw now you can even make some crafts and build something and this is how people here try and get a body which is not a lot easy and other than that there's not a lot of things to do if you want to find a different kind of job you have to go down The Village and look for something else but it's very hard to find something
