I Went Back And Rebuilt The Vancouver Grizzlies

and we back back in 2001 the Vancouver Grizzlies uprooted themselves and moved to Memphis today we're gonna be doing everything in our power to prevent the Memphis Grizzlies from existing and now that I said that out loud that sounds so malicious but instead it's not about getting rid of Memphis it's about continuing Vancouver because let's be real they did not have uh the the best chances the NBA didn't give them the right chances to survive as an organization now themselves they got to take some blame for it as well Drew there for six seasons and never had a record that was even close to 500 but again the NBA didn't give them the right infrastructure to be able to do that because when they were Incorporated when they were created the NBA decided for the first couple years of their existence they could never get the first overall pick and they were the worst team in the league y'all in the year that Allen Iverson was drafted first they could get the first overall pick but then again they got the third pick and they missed out on people like Kobe being Bryant and a lot of other great players from the 1996 draft the after that Tim Duncan was a very available but not to Vancouver or for Toronto they couldn't get the first overall pick though instead our Vancouver Grizzy selected Antonio Daniels who they traded one year later 1998 they kind of dodged the bullet because the first overall pick in that draft was Michael oluwakandi who's one of the biggest busts in NBA history and they end up getting Mike Bibby who is is good you know had a lot of good years in NBA and then the straw that broke the camel's back is when they drafted Steve Francis even though Steve Francis told the entire world he didn't want to play for Vancouver and before he could even suit up they had to trade him away for pretty much nothing so everybody is at fault today I'm taking over to give the Vancouver grizzies a chance of success the only problem with this was starting the Kobe era and the Kobe era is one year after Vancouver had already moved so we're just gonna act like this 2001 2002 season in Memphis and happen and we're gonna assume that that happened in Vancouver cool Arte looks like a 22 two-year-old Pau Gasol we also got a white chocolate Jason Williams we got Shane batting this nice young core is pretty cool we got Wesley purse person um shamaro strith who's and this is first Year's third year oh man he got drafted earlier than I remember Drew Gooden's rookie season they got Brevin night they got Chris Owens Kevin Gibson um so I saw D Rose I was like hold on I don't know if this is a real person or not I'm gonna nope this is not a reverse okay whatever um our job is to turn this team into a perennial good team we want to win championships but part of the reason or part of the way you stay in organization that don't get moved is just making the playoffs a couple different times you know what I'm saying get that Revenue in and right now our profits are minus you see that over here it says minus 14 million dollars is that one of the goals today to get that in the positive let's say that's one of the goals today I don't know if I've ever been thought about doing something like that I never even cared about the profit of my organization all right so this first year I do want to not be great uh because this is this is the only year where I'm I'm gonna try my hardest not to be great because I haven't haven't LeBron end up in Canada would be kind of fun or Carmelo or Chris boshu ended up in Canada but on the other side with Toronto or to win this draft class you know the 2003 draft class is Elite all right great um so how do we do that because I don't want to trade away Pau Gasol who's really good or maybe just simulate the first season alone is good enough maybe Trey Wesley because he averaged 15 last year in Cleveland and that's too good that's that's he's our starting Street guard that's too good I'm gonna get that to Kevin Gibson or to D Rose Dave his name is Dave let me go ahead and trade uh person and just get something in return like a 2005 Lottery protected pick from the Houston Rockets will they come back and help us maybe or they say top 10 protector I don't know we're gonna start a small backcourt of a 510 Brevin Nike and a 6-1 Jason Williams I love that because that means we probably won't be able to defend is there anybody contractually we gotta think about this guy's on the last episode we don't care about boom boom one of the rules I'm incorporating earlier in this video is that we can't go out there inside big name free eight oh no what the heck we can't sign big name free agents for the first couple years at least until we become a competent organization because part of the reason again that Vancouver was unsuccessful as they were never able to build the right team and I'm sure that has to do with drafting as we saw oh man and then also with lack of free agent interest people didn't want to come to Vancouver so I'm to keep that the case at least until we decent and then we can maybe convince the people to come over to the good old country of Canada the Northwest deserves another organization let's be real Seattle's probably the place that we were going to look into it but Vancouver is also great uh Pau Gasol heard himself a four to six I'm not gonna say we happy because I would never be happy with any injuries but I can't say I'm mad either you know what I'm saying oh he's back that was short-lived all right I'm gonna go until around the deadline and then he got injured again okay now I'm getting concerned two back two injuries that quick it's not great for a young player uh anyway we cannot lose on this day of the week I don't know what's going on this day of the week specifically we ain't lost a single game this season every single one of our games need to be on this day what day is this is that Friday Friday Saturday it's just a Thursday I think it's a Thursday I'm stupid That's Thursday in general I feel like the entirety of my errors I have not utilized so I I'm gonna try my hardest over the next couple months to try to use more of my errors and doing stuff like this because I forgot how fun this could be uh Shaquille O'Neal when zvp Yao Ming was rookie of the year six Commander goes to Desmond Mason that we got Ben Wallace when DPO why big Z wins most approved and then Don Nelson wins 51 games what team is Don Nelson coaching nowadays uh oh his team overall is a 78. and that's all I care about his team overall is a 78 and he turned into 51 wins that might be the greatest ones of all time what team is that 51 wins tripping no he's the coach of the Mavericks this team is a Ford what is it 70 no he deserves coach of the year what is this he made this team win 50 get oh Dirk was injured Dirk is injured yeah for two to four and then see Nash also ends your broken vertical break broken vertebrae oh I'm about to turn down the frequency of injuries because I I can't lie all right our team we had a lot of injuries man I ain't gonna lie um and now Pau Gasol's ankle was just automatically red now but this season pal hit a good one but he played 50 game 56 games like he was injured for a good chunk of it so I'm gonna have to turn that slider down we didn't make the playoffs that's great we wanted the worst teams in the league that's great we're gonna have a guaranteed top four pick I hope uh the Suns win the championship Shawn Marion and Stephon Marbury and Penny Hardaway time googly out of Mark blunt Amari statomaya uh who else down here these Sean Williams Scott Williams is that a real person that absolutely is all right um rookie Joe Johnson oh snap all right uh they won uh the championship over the Knicks Alan Houston tried it he tried it boy he definitely did all right this is where the things really get started um and you know what I'm not preventing anybody from retiring already alone if John Stockton Mark Jackson and all these dudes were in retire that's that song y'all all right it is time for our draft lottery ladies and gentlemen we have these why do we not have our own pick um oh no overall pick in this year's draft in real life I gotta hope that that means it's all right we're just gonna do it you end up with the fifth pick and it's not ours why why do we now have our own pick ladies and gentlemen we played ourselves I took over this organization without knowing the stipulations and the oldest Thorp trade in 1997 we gave up the pick and it was top one protected so we we did we don't keep the pick I we do we do not keep the we do not keep the pick actually this is a crazy story because it was top one protected and it was a 50 50 chance that they got it and they didn't get it so instead it went to LeBron James was to pick obviously um and the Cavs won that 50 50 thing so LeBron could have spent the first x amount of years of his career in Memphis I did not know we learned stuff right now and then that's how the Pistons got their pick even though the Pistons were really good and then the Pistons drafted um dark on all right um so how did they end up with the 13th overall picking strap I don't know I don't know I'm gonna try my hardest to get into this draft class it ain't gonna be one to get LeBron but I'm gonna try my very very hard to get into the draft blast because this guy hit it's got Heavy Hitters all around it I got to get something so who on this team feels uh Expendable I mean Brevin can I trade Brevin and uh oh we got okay so we got 21 from the Rockets okay so if I throw um 21 Brevin and then like next pick top ten protected can I get that up because next year's draft class ain't I see I got the knowledge of the future and if you ain't drafting Dwight Howard or Andre Iguodala the 2004 is this guy hit us for sure but those are the top guys so matter of fact I'm gonna try it I'm gonna see I'm gonna see we can do can we I just want to top top 10 pick and I'm gonna top five protect next year's because again I want either Dwight Howard or nothing them Sam there's Sam Cassell or Tony cucoach who are both old um there is our guy Jamal Crawford with that hair too Jamal Crawford with that hair too there's the seventh overall pick um and we can get Marcus Camby in here I don't know how interested I am in Marcus Camby uh he is a little bit past his prime but he's only 29 years old so maybe we we should look at Marcus Camby okay the Denver Nuggets are interested in giving us a little some some um that's the seventh overall pick that'll be there so let's try to move up manually let's see who has five also Pistons give us our pick back bro we'll give you um um what's the mock draft saying with the fifth overall pick actually they're saying Chris came with see yeah actually you need to get a top four you don't need to get in at all get top four don't get in at all because right now the fifth overall pick is getting us we good we got our guy we traded a lot but we got our guy Dwyane Wade and he's gonna be with Pau Gasol the focal points of this team's future and again I can't sign big name free agents um 12 million dollars for a guy like to Black is crazy I can't sign big name free agents but I can definitely get some people in so I need a backup small forward I mean our bench is just awful um Earl Catchings I didn't realize that you were making so much money Earl I see a young heedu turkalu on the market I'm gonna try to snag hilu and give him a four-year deal uh yeah yeah come on they don't even know who's great we just need him to stay healthy this season we got Drew good and we still got Brevin um we uh behind Walter and then we got Steve Smith as well those two dudes are older at 29 and oh he's already 29 I don't know why I expect to be older than that 29 and 34 but they're gonna give us some veteran leadership for this young team first game is a loss yep that's fine but Dwyane Wade listen it might take us two more years before we real good but right now we shouldn't be in conversation for the worst team in the league you know Powell is like that like I want to remind people how good pal can be and you're seeing that through the first three you know the first four games because he putting up another good game I thought uh yeah not that great we found out in 30 minutes but I think year old Gary Payton who's still averaging 20 by the way he is still averaging 20 points per game his contract is insane for somebody that's gonna be 38 so we're not gonna do it but he's there but they're trying to dump Juwan Howard so bad I will trade for Juwan Howard absolutely they just gave us Juwan Howard for the free he does got to come off the bench that's fine he's 24 years old he'll understand eventually um and he's having a good year but I mean he's almost 50 from three but um yeah Juwan is like that bro he's not even more touches because that's the only reason to be upset his that's gonna be it rookie teams should 100 oh no Dwyane Wade made a a defensive team too so he's the third best rookie in the class behind LeBron and Melo um and that's this is the top five picks in that order ain't that crazy we we missed it we missed the playoffs we ended the season three and seven and that hurt we were amazing at home and terrible on the road uh we missed it just that last stretch of games really ah dang I thought we had it um Shawan Howard was that your Trader for Javon Howard the reason no uh we did see Lakers Celtics in the finals Kobe and Shaq versus Paul Pierce and Chris Bosh and Bulls Crews I guess and uh Paul Pierce did it before kg and Ray Allen got there before Rondo was drafted he did a little bit early he got Tony Delk on his roster all right well uh we traded with our pick but I think his top three to protect it so we feel all right we feel we feel fine a new expansion teams coming to the league that is the Bobcats uh so that's we got to figure out who we protecting and everything um so our pick is projected to be around 11th if we jump up we keep it and we did not jump up so it is uh the 12th overall pick I'm not mad at it did it make us go a smart he would be a small Center if we move them over but last year in New Jersey he averaged 18 he's been averaging about 18 for the last couple seasons um obviously a big size difference between him and Pau Gasol he did just make two All-Star games and he's got zero offers I think we gotta we have to bring him in and move him over even though his interior defense I mean it's above average for his position but once you make him a center it probably drops not an amazing rebounder oh we we gonna invent small ball basketball y'all we bringing in Kenyon Martin on a contract that's going to be about 10 million dollars hopefully and I believe Pau Gasol snaked us like that to go to the Champions too I want y'all to remember that Pau Gasol left us to go to the Celtics the Celtics who just won a ring man but we have to use the little leverage that we have and Drew Gooden because you're good and again 22 years old and still good um ish ish I guess actually all of those traits suck they're all bad trades and now I'm afraid of Shame Battier who's someone loyal my agents moving to a new team this summer I got PTSD from good players walking away from us we're trading for pages toyakovich and Bobby Jackson Who Off the Bench Bobby Jackson's about to be elite now who's starting between him and my baby I mean Bobby Jackson has a history of being The Perennial backup and he's great at it pager welcome welcome to Vancouver we just remade this entire team um and uh Kenya Martin gets better as his position changes so I mean we got Dwyane Wade Pages toyakovich Jason Williams and Bobby Jackson as the backup and then we still got Juwan Howard little old self and heedle turcolo I like that we need a backup shooting guard we need backup Wings back up shooting guard small four Wesley you want to come back you know we traded you away what's your offer two years eight oh we I don't know we could do that my guy Powell is still here by the way and now he's going to the Bobcats I'm happy your deal fell through he actually went to the Kings so him and Shane Battier playing together again because we we trade the same bad head to the king everything is so messed up uh which is fun all right an eventful off-season for sure an eventful offseason um Bobby's getting worse Juwan is getting worse Wesley's getting worse I just signed a center of free agency he was getting worse but Kenya Martin got small that worse a little bit but the good thing is Dwyane Wade is him and Pages stayed the same it's one of the best players involved I Ain't Mad At It All Things Considered of course but based on the they true colors what they showed us I think we want that today okay yeah this is a real NBA team I think I think we look like a real roster I do want to change some stuff page okay Pages shot since he's already really good I do want to change he lose a little bit so we can retain him next season um and then I want to make raw job no I Will Wait make Wesley a small four just so this little thing up top looks better it doesn't matter at the end of the day but it just bothers me if it does I'll make it a 10 man rotation just so we do have some backup center position that's going to be Alan Randolph who just signed the deal and he's uneasy already I think we're playoff team man Dwayne Wade is it's your time to take over the league all right Kenya Martin in your first game pretty good too I think it's time for us to to make the playoffs I ain't asking us to be of one seed but make it is is what I'm asking um a one and three star is not ideal I want to make a small adjustment which is giving our two Star Wings more minutes run them into the dirt start off the season stop playing with us man stop playing with us this is what this is what we do we the one seat we're the one seat are we either we're gonna be one of the fakers one season history I think I don't think we're good enough to win a championship but we're the one seat I mean that's got me thinking Trailblazers won their division so because of that they have a higher seat even though we are dramatically better they were a sub 500 team and they're the 3C that's a cakewalk for the lake the Lakers are undoubtedly better than them they're about to smoke them and we got the uh the Hornets shout out to the Hornets and they have on their team Gilbert Arenas Gilbert Arenas Jamal masbourne and PJ Brown all right and then they still have David Wesley and Jarvis Hayes the better topian Talent um with Gail and even tomorrow it's kind of elite a smaller lineup though we're having Jamal run the four I kind of like that game one we lose game two we win all right where's our red I want to see what the revenue was doing now that we're playing these games now three one uh I I don't think we're a championship Contender that's why I'm not like stressing about us being down I still think we're ways away but I mean if we win this series and I'm gonna go into it like we trying to win a shot blocking shooting guard of all time baby but now now we're going against the Spurs and they got Tim Duncan and Jermaine O'Neill's now on the team their team is great they won 55 games we won 54. we won 54. this is close this is a this is a close Series game one is our win we take home court advantage behind Dwyane Wade and Kenya Martin Jr seven assists is pretty good for my starting center game two be loose okay we still have home court advantage though game three we class game four we lose game five is so pivotal this is where I'm gonna start making some adjustments to our rotation and
