hello my name is Fujifilm xt50 prepare to like [Music] hello children today we're talking about the Fujifilm xt50 because I don't know what happened to the xt40 for those of you new to the game so usually what Fujifilm does is they will release a camera with a single number like this Fuji film xt2 which they released I think in [Music] 2016 yeah 2016 and then a couple of months later in 2017 they released the smaller sister the Fujifilm xt20 which is the camera I started my Channel with and I still use till this day I have this version here the clean one I call it and then I have the one that actually started the channel which I made a black and white camera my Noir camera and so this camera I just shoot in manual focus I made a whole video about it I'll link it up below then there was an xt3 and then there was an xt30 and then there was an xt30 Mark I and then there was an XT before but there never was an xt40 instead they released the Fujifilm xs10 totally different and I was lucky enough to shoot this camera on a production with Fujifilm me and a fellow photographer Jeffrey Sun we were chosen to sort of play around with fujifilm's newest products the Fujifilm xt50 the gfx 100s which I'll talk about in a separate video the newest kit lens which is the 16 to 50 mm and this Beast the gfx 500 mm lens which I also will talk about in a separate video the camera has the same processor as its bigger brother the xt5 it shoots 8 frames a second the camera body now is a little bit more rounded than the usual uh XT line here's what the xt2 looks like you see it's a little bit more kind of rounded at the edges but this one is very uh robust and round it is a little beefier because it has image stabilization which is the first double number camera to have stabilization which now makes this a great travel camera because you can shoot video and photos with it yay without having to have a stabilized lens there are seven stops of stabilization on the camera which is great for video of course but also for photos to keep your shutter speeds down if you're doing any kind of you know streaking lights or waterfalls that's super helpful there is now a brand new dial on the top and the the dial lets you switch between your film s simulations a little quicker than in the past now on the other XT cameras this was a drive dial so you can switch between you know video and photo and high Burst Mode just by switching the dial and it has all the popular ones on there and it includes reala Ace which was great and nostalgic neg which I used quite a bit on this camera now you can also program a couple of other film simulations on these U little film simulation custom spaces and one thing to note is you can't save recipes on here meaning you can't have like your classic Chrome have all of its settings and white balance shift and it Shadow and all that and then switch to the next one and it switches all that stuff you can basically just switch the the base film simulation now for example if you do like Shadows minus 2 and color minus one that will be consistent on all the film simulations so you can't just have different parameters for each of the spaces which is a little bit of a bummer because I think the dial would have kind of gone along with the whole Community the Fuji weekly Community making recipes and then it really could have been a film simulation dial currently you can only switch the base color now in my experience when I was using the camera at first I wasn't really using the dial because with any new feature you're kind of like oh gu but when we were shooting in Coney Island I found it useful to figure out what was my base going to be now although I'm shooting JPEG and RAW I'm not able to open the raws yet so picking a jpeg you know profile was really important for the first time I was able to sort of go through what each of the film simulations was doing quickly and seeing for example what red would do with each of the film simulations and how vibrant the colors were so that was kind of important when when I wanted to convey a certain mood like in Coney Island I was either shooting nostalgic NE or I would go to velvia just to give it a little bit more punch now I didn't shoot too much video with it because I was concentrating on getting some photos but it is a pretty powerful video camera it shoots 6K uh but it doesn't shoot it doesn't shoot 6K open gate which means it doesn't shoot the whole sensor it actually does crop a 16x9 now the other big thing and the thing that is most impressive about this camera is just the file resolution I think if you love a lot more detail in your images like you don't need the grainy sort of gritty sort of half blurry image you really want fine detail like for example on this project that we worked on Jeffrey and I were we're creating what we're called slices and I'll talk more about that when I talk about the gfx in that video but uh so make sure you like And subscribe uh by law I'm required to say that as a YouTuber anyway this camera is perfect for fine detail so maybe if you're doing wildlife and you want every feather and every little piece of fur and whisker this is great for that the 40 megapixels I mostly shot with the new kit lens so we could see what it can do and just by looking at the files the images look really sharp I think this and this together are great it's a good way to get started the lens is also weather sealed now it has a little rubber gasket here and when you zoom it it doesn't pop out actually just stays internal Zoom there which if you do video and you have this on a gimbal it actually is a huge benefit as opposed to Mr honken nose over here look at this guy hey hey and probably the coolest thing about this camera is it comes in this super cool s color if you have plenty of black cameras it's kind of nice to have one that is a little gray here's a a little oh let's use the xt20 come on get out of here xt2 um here's here's a little difference between the black and the gray so you can see that and the gray the gray is not um hold on here's the X Pro 2 graphite Edition and here is the new gray and I think they're kind of a good match they kind of look it's a little darker so the xt50 is slightly darker I think it looks good though I like this this kind of is the one that I would get if I would get it and you put a little red button on there and looks super nice now again this is in a review this is kind of a first look I just got to use the camera maybe two days ago for the first time but quick question I'm sure some of you have is why would you get this instead of the xt5 which is only a couple of hundred doll more well it's all about the size and that's the main thing I love about the small cameras is the size that they're small and if you're traveling and you want super high quality in a small package you could just have this and all the tiny Fujifilm lenses like these tiny tiny guys even this guy this is is what the lens remember my Portugal video I brought this lens here and I actually got to use this in Coney Island and it I put it on here and it took really sharp beautiful pictures so this you have your 55 to 200 you have one prime and you can have just like your little this little all right I'll see you guys next time
