I Took the Developers to the FORBIDDEN MAP in Phasmophobia

hi YouTube how are you doing and welcome to the old asylum in today's video we're gonna be playing on the old Asylum map that was removed from phasmaphobia now we're not gonna do that alone we're like I'm I'm telling you that's the reason why okay um oh boy is this oh that's kind of interesting though like because that means that at one point fasmo kind of looked like every other ghost game that came after it oh yeah yeah just like it kind of looked like uh like ghosts uh underscore ghost Exile and stuff like that yeah I think the issue is with those games is like they I'll add all these things oh yeah people ask for this and it's like well DK didn't add it because it's not District yeah there's so many of them wait that last one you kept on oh wait what that one uh no it's fine I'm I'm at the I'm already in the yeah that one that one that one okay so good we need demon dog for April fools see the assistant on the project oh yeah I didn't know let's put demon dog like somewhere in the rafters in the new life oh just like staring such a good Easter egg there was something similar we nearly did for monkey pool but it was way too complicated oh really what was that um I wanted to do um which wish was it one of the wishes I think it was a wish for knowledge was like it would teleport you to a spot in the map that's the furthest away from the exit and you would have to escape from like a hunting ghost that is patrolling obviously that's just like another game basically yeah yeah I mean how cool that'd be like you have to escape from the ghost like I think one final break is like just hunting normally and you just had to get it's like an endless hunt but the door's open I think you said yeah what the hell man is that you just ruined the game for like all your other friends it's just an endless hunt now escape the lore man I have a shade get out hello I'm a shade oh yeah it will be whispering you something that's how you got the information come here I mean that's what I still came like I don't know because it like sounds exactly like this I don't know if I've still got the old old file I'll have to refinder and see if I've got like the Snippets of what demon dog merch you don't know what you caused Manchester I thought it was public knowledge I kind of feel aware you need to it doesn't matter like it's not like it was in the game just like those type of Easter is it like how long before someone adds it into that ghost hunting game now oh they're right it's like with the tarot card that's all right they've not just the other day I was like what they are like straight one for one as well yeah I remember when like you showed me I was like oh no yeah because like I I've always said like I I welcome every ghost hunting game in the genre but I'd like to see new ideas for the things that already exist because like because I think like I I genuinely enjoy demonologists for like the atmosphere of it and like the the it feels like like a the interactivity of the Maps is really fun but it's just like a shame that the curse possessions are like genuinely just listen like control V because it's and not necessarily because it's like a criminal thing to do or something but just because like now we don't get to see what these creative minds could have come up with if they just would have thought for them so I'm watching us for the inside yeah a bit of a problem because I played what was this like ghost hunting game that came out oh yeah it was this like Ouija board ghost hunting game that came out three years before phasma I was like I blew my mind I was like holy [ __ ] um and it is totally like it it completely redefines like it's a totally different style of ghost hunting game where you don't just like go in a truck you like have equipment and you go into a house and that's it no it was like you place down like a camera and then you place down a Norwegian board and then you talk to the Ouija board and the more you talk the more like ghosts show up and then you have to film The Ghosts to get like evidence of the ghosts existing and it was a it's like a really interesting spin on the idea but we don't see that anymore because like there's a tried and tested formula in phasma that just works so like no one like no one is taking risks and it seems like the main thing people are doing that are successful like ghost Watchers and demonologists is just like take phasmo and add like a bunch of jump scares to it and then call it a day do you not think that like if demonologist wasn't made in uh unreal oh it's something it's upstairs to the right the only comments I see are like oh demonologist is better because it's Graphics are better and it has jump scares and it's like well yeah but anyone can do the game isn't it yeah it must be really polished and yeah like it must be you know they must have spent a long time on it because it looks good I think it's on the it's on the right side upstairs by the way I think oh oh God I'm my parachute because it's like it's like the first ghost hunting game that uses asset packs but is in unreal so yeah because I was like so confused because I don't like not to be rude to demonologist and I've always I've literally said that to the face of the devs when they were in my uh chat I don't think it looks like an Unreal Engine game it doesn't sometimes it does but lighting and textures are nice but it's like there's like stuff in there that's just like Unity assets and I'm like yeah that's the issue is the consistency it would look a lot better if they had bought like one really high quality asset pack and then made everything around that but because they bought like I don't know I guess a few packs yeah some of the qualities like really bad so you get like mismatched God now I have like my own conspiracy theory on why I think demonologist is not the greatest game it could have been is because I think people were kind of starving for like innovation in the ghost hunting genre and even knowledge just it's on the right side you can hear the the dirty water oh so I found a way to build this one the people were kind of starving for like something new and something fresh and demonologist is definitely something like different in a lot of ways yeah um but then it also has a lot of oh God it's here it also has a lot of flaws but because people were like so oh my God finally oh I'm gonna die here what though oh my God finally there's a game different from phasmo that I can stand and people were like uh like they wouldn't accept any criticism they were just like yes yes please yes and everyone everyone was just like yes people around the devs and no one was like hey this is a cool game but we need this and this to change in order for it to like be better but no one wanted to hear any of that because they were just like oh finally a new game yeah yeah what do you mean kind of I was like being chased by the ghost by the way right on my ass oh the Hunts are so long dude yeah okay the ghost you can hear the dirty it's the dirty versa yeah it's just like uh uh that's why I talk [ __ ] on fastball all the time it's healthy for the game oh come on wait we can just walk in and out wait what what do you mean wait it was hunting did you see that it stopped when I said the Hunts are so long no but it was hunting after that to be the worst photo in the game as well which is so fun the rarest worst photo yeah why was that ever a thing why was it ever the worst photo like the ghost name is it because it's gonna be the best for everyone was like but it's so rare it's not fair yeah I guess dk4soft that would happen or something yeah I don't know I feel like no one was tactical at all when the game first came out but I believe you should be rewarded for rare things not like punished so I think it's cool the singing in there she's in the toilet oh yeah [Music] what further it looks so flat I don't know it was literally just a brown plane with a [ __ ] there's nothing else in it in fact no it wasn't it was five Brown plants laid on top of each other and they turn on one by one to make it yeah as it gets uh yes one two three like seeing this does make me like proud of my work yeah quite a bit oh yeah the game looks so much better now the lighting alone is like I know yeah take everything else out on the lighting is enough and the sound like it's massively better yeah everything just everything sounds like sounds the ghost sounds everything sounds like the same item when you drop it on the ground does it still sound like no no no equipment everything is like Unicode and everything's about Unique Sounds oh yeah we added the the I did a full pass on every like pretty much every item in the game okay see my book was good there you go that's it right oh no we need middle middle third one freezing freezing yeah yeah and Spirit Box during the hunt demons go show yourself hey Ben all right fine this is a cool hi I think that like it might just be Nostalgia but like the long hallways that's the only thing where I'm like you've got a bear in mind though imagine playing this map with live ghosts you would just die all the time yeah I mean that would that would have a gameplay for like life goes it's so much more interactive than this yeah instead of just slowly walk away it's like okay where can I hide where can I run can I break line of sight yeah oh boy oh the ghost is not chasing I can't believe they never had AI like the ghosts were just dumb as hell they never went to your last known location and stuff like this actually search Bases but you know early access would get away with anything no no but like how we ever died in this version yeah oh cause like how do you you can literally just hold forward like that by daylight just sprinting is the best strategy [Music] true I mean I would absolutely still I wouldn't play this map much you guys did a poll at one point right that was like would you guys play Asylum if we or more if we changed it and everyone was like yes and then you changed it and everyone goes like what where's the old one what the hell man can we even like please both worlds we're making the small version as well I actually really like the small version I quite like it it's good fun all right if anyone has uh another biggest island let me know I need to find the board I've I've had the board I feel like you're finding it the best time in the game I mean you did at one point even you spend like 100 hours setting like 70 eggs or something in Asylum what was that oh man yeah like the first Easter oh yeah you put a lot of eggs in that man and this year is like small Maps only [Music] I mean it's so much better for everyone I said I'm kind of like oh you got it you never finished it oh I never finished the Easter the first Easter event because not really like it was bugs like initially it was bite oh I got one initially you couldn't uh get some of the extras they were like clipped inside objects and then I did Asylum and I had all but one egg and I was just like yeah yeah I remember that I'm done with this [ __ ] but then there was nothing to gain for me either so yeah it was mad at least when we added trophies and the badge like you could do them the trophies were so fun I love the trophies I can't wait to do achievements then we can give all the big achievements trophies and just have like the fattest trophy cabinet ever yeah because people were like uh there were some people in the comments they were like oh you know what console means that means we get achievements yeah not yet okay wait don't you have a chance the last thing we do 1.0 like full release is achievements uh we don't technically do like stick together because you need stats to like if we if we do like stat based achievements we can't need to track them anyway lavender are you gonna join our lobby by the way oh sorry I didn't I didn't realize trying to get the uh yeah yeah I got it okay there we go I think it'd be better to be fresh when achievements come out instead of like you I've always had achievements and then you log in and just get like 100 million achievements I mean I hope I assume you're gonna have to get them yeah it would be better if you just have to earn them except like Reach This level or yeah Prestige ones stuff like that yeah yeah encounter every ghost encounter 10 mimics yeah get killed by a demon within the first 10 seconds of a mission yeah we I made a video one time about potential achievements that we could uh yeah what the hell too soon Oh wait we're gonna sign him again aren't we get ready yeah yes we are what is up with that page in the printer as well trippy have you seen the the music photos out oh yeah wait really yeah when you took a photo print out here what look at this there's no h on the keyboard uh oh yeah what what one's there instead all the colons in the wrong place the Euro singable has its own key yeah oh really yeah like next to that next supposed to be like shift something isn't it I can't even see it oh yeah shift four control the last ghost was Nancy let's go so weird um uh what was I say uh yeah what kind of achievements would you have would you add there'll be like stat track ones like um greatly identify a ghost yeah like it'd be like one ghost ten ghosts 100 goes to 500 or something and then like when you get to the last we could do like trophies for each so like it's dark bronze then goes silver then go gold yeah Prestige earn this much money uh Survivor hunt without losing line of sight and stuff like that that's interesting we could do like a challenge apocalypse challenges we can put them but yeah there have to be like complete 10 weekly challenges there have to be special ones too like where you like look at the achievements because I I used to and still sometimes play like Paradox games Paradox games in my opinion have like the best achievements because the way their achievements work is that they give you a reason to play the game more so like sometimes you'll be sometimes you'll be like I don't know what to do anymore in this game and then you look at the list of achievements and one of them is like be this very specific country and do this very specific thing in this in this year and you're like all right well I guess I know what to do now and then you just play like a whole campaign with that country just with this very specific goal yeah like obviously there's a very different type of place we could do like successful we could do like specific custom difficulty setup stuff I guess like Diet just identify a ghost with no evidence that's easy you'd want to do like really neat stuff like because getting the ghost right especially at the moment is quite easy but if it was like I don't know take 10 ghost photos during a hunt or something really difficult you may do some really cool like I like those yeah like a skill based challenge that's not just like play the game but I like I like ones that like not just like if they're all Star Trek then they're all like ambient what you also want is like something where you can go like okay I want to do this specific thing this game because I want to try and get an achievement yeah yeah that is like an insta complete but you have to do something difficult like apocalypse for example yeah exactly yeah oh it's over here it's on the right I heard of what's up it's on the right upstairs oh it's it's in this room yeah it's cool in this room coming and then again drop my thumb off then if you've got oh it's in the [ __ ] shower room spicy the showers that you can turn on what about like Survivor hunt but get within two meters of the ghost or or like get an Evidence during a hunt like get you yeah likes evidence yeah cool stuff like that would be good okay so yeah it's in the showers don't drop the soap ghosts are gonna get shot one two oh my God catch an item a poltergeist throws Jesus you're actually on fire these are some interesting I mean catch an item I would say I would say I would say like that's a bit I would be careful with doing specific things you do against specific ghosts because then you can you can never Force those things to happen but like catching an item that a ghost throws would be interesting yeah take a photo of sometimes I forget like oh I mean you used to forget that even when you were playing on this version this is where the map flipped yeah I think it might be a spirit I hear lots of footsteps wouldn't we see fingerprints though for that spirit is definitely isn't it no it's not even that's the current one it's ghost riding oh yeah oh but it is fingerprints and then like not orbs gearbox of course Spirit Box for Spirit I should have known that yeah because I I think they shouldn't do achievements where it's just like specific ghost because you you never have influence on that that'd be annoying as hell I think I think like if it is like see a oh but like take a photo of an obahe fingerprint I think that could be the extent of like we can't remember like Huns Are Gonna Change massively eventually like the whole ghost flashing things getting reworked you know all the good things you know exorcisms uh PVP what else is it fans guns yeah I think this is the first time we've played fans together on stream it's the first all the time we've played old fasmore yeah played together before we played with a sunny I'm pretty sure oh yeah we might have done that [ __ ] yeah yeah oh yeah it like the Bassy Ambient sound I remember the first time walking in the house you've been like oh that's really uncomfortable like that's actually crazy yeah but then like you see one ghost okay yeah yeah I played it like a couple of times and then like yeah like I said earlier when we got hired by Dan then our homework because basically we just played it for like two days and just wrote like the fattest list ever oh we got raining it's in Rio oh no but it's not gonna be fingerprints oh my God it's so bright in there what the [ __ ] yeah oh yeah uh it's okay I don't think there's orbs oh I click the camera and then I can move it around oh my God I'll move it to this side I'm going on a trip boys do we have an EMF here we should put it on the door because uh I did my five yep there you oh yeah I think there is a bug on this version where you get the same ghost in the row in a row because we have it only three times in a row when I was playing with psycho we had revenants three times in a row like it's just not stuff yeah what the hell alrighty all right then I love was there was there like a version an old version where you'd have to take the items back to the truck I never did that imagine it's people there's like genuinely people sometimes that are like dude that's so unrealistic and I'm like are you [ __ ] kidding me it'd be miserable the other one that we see a lot is like batteries for the flashlight some stuff and it's like I'm not having to go back to the truck just to like press a button just so you could see like screw that'd be so so miserable I want fun stuff [Music] yeah I hope some it's just like I hope there will be more Innovation when it comes to ghost hunting like just different go something games it's just a forewarned and Conrad so like the top two yeah definitely they've pushed the boat the furthest and they are unique and replayable I think I think Conrad is like my favorite besides phasma it's crazy yeah Converse is so cool it's just like um Conrad has batteries by the way but because you can't die in that game if you get like attacked by the ghost that drains your battery instead just to give you something at least um it's just a shame that there's been like this new formula that just like works too well like people I mean it's totally obviously fine to make money as an indie Dev like come on yeah I was just I wouldn't find it very rewarding I would just like to see more Innovation besides like basketball plus jump scares plus yeah I've always said like I I like the genre that's not ghosts alrighty there we go three owners in a row do a vampire hunter one so don't give the specific ideas away we're not doing that for our next game there's no way no but we'd be doing something fresh but you can apply the same genre yeah we're just gonna make the same game everything that's so good you're gonna spend an entire year traveling the world took photos of stuff what the [ __ ] okay I think I think the other reason like this bonus map that we do this modern day but like you're investigating something that's not modern day if he was fresh enough just from that well and it's uh uh what do you call it's like mummies and stuff it's not yeah like you're not investigating in a house you're in a [ __ ] tomb yeah so like the gameplay looks completely different which is exact same thing for me and it's not a ghost yeah it's like a weird yeah also because of the way they've like made the game they have like different phases to the game so in the first phase every ghost is the same and then you like steal the artifact and then I have a Lobby by the way with Edgefield unprofessional that's a bit more manageable than Asylum um but and then every ghost when you get into like the attack phase is completely different because then it doesn't matter anymore like you don't have to figure out the ghost so it's not like it's it's like bad that the ghosts are very distinct and you instantly figure them out because you've already done it at that point yeah already be ready yeah I'll think so DJ yeah like two seconds later dude look at this wood maybe that wood all right we're here we got Karen again it's a nice wood on you here we go I've just been going the same build the whole time I don't think there's any other build that really works on this version maybe EMF can still work okay any boner look at that you drink too much milk I'd love to see like a western themed one as well I love that one map and devour are like Calgary I love that sound nice because I've been playing 100 showdowns so much and it's all western or would you be investigating like I don't know you could do anything I could like what like you know like mythological things instead of oh that'd be sick I'd love to do that like did you ever play like uh um you play remember Age of Empires do you ever feel that age of pathology oh I love Asian pathology I remember getting that one from the library from that Library yeah wow that was my favorite game for such a long time so good I remember like spawning in the son of Osiris like all the time do you remember the laser Bear yeah the Laser Bird oh yeah there were so many like special cheats yeah and like there's like a car like yeah the car with laser beams yeah yeah but that was that one an Asian pathology I thought that was in like Age of Empires two Blends together a bit yeah it might have been yeah foreign a bunch of like super Superior like or is it like the the the the robot Bears or something yeah oh is this bad yeah fixed your eyes 250 000 polygons oh my God looks exactly the same yeah actually thank you I appreciate that comment what my optimizing skills are yes press the decimate button what was the one where you spawned like the I actually had to minute there's fingerprints everywhere we were actually gonna get it's like real people wait we're gonna get a perfect game here holy [ __ ] it's happening one of them is a picture of the developer's cat as well not developer the asset like what talking about yourself in the third person why not just CJ big Siege big seeds we can we actually have a potential perfect game here if we perfect game what's up yeah if you take all fingerprints photos uh you need to we need to get a tripod and some salt for the tripod I guess try POG time the old tripod dude why do we still have that emote it's like completely useless did you take wait don't put the salt on yet wait oh I've already put fold down oh never mind no no tripod what tripod I I used to go into public lobbies convincing people that in order to use the salt properly you had to place down a tripod and then put salt underneath the three feet of the tripod wow then what yeah it did work because I used to have like I mean I used to have a already like after the first few months I used to have a really high level so people just believed me because of my level yeah yeah if they don't seem to be orbs I think is it gonna be a Revenant oh um it's definitely gonna be spare box freezing on Spirit Box oh because we have EMA five and fingerprints right yeah that's gonna be ghost riding or freezing temperature oh ghost right so it's definitely a revenant time to do Revenant we can check on the loop uh people even use these before like sometimes there were so many users that's one of those things that I also like really really like how the items have slowly been integrated into the ghost abilities so they've been like you now have way more reasons to actually use them yeah yeah exactly whereas now you can get away of not using like most of them exactly just like okay there's only two layers as well too salt that was my favorite detail in the deja vu Channel yeah but you guys you did forget one thing though you the breaker was off yeah yeah that's the only thing yeah looks like I didn't know I didn't know I love the the like double salt that was that was a very nice touch I also see um a Miss what's the word Miss uh people think we make them each week no I made them all in a week oh yeah yeah and then it auto loads them oh right oh yeah yeah yeah you guys are gonna add more right over time as well yeah when we've got like more stuff we can add I don't know if I want to add some for the sake of it at the moment there's 21 and then no 26 27 26 yeah yeah but we can just make that half of the amount of off things yeah they do yeah usually there's a bug recently but like oh there's forms inside the car bounces like inside the car yeah oh that was so good it was like just ping-ponging in the car yeah at least I set it up so that if it bounces it like loses lifetime so the next one spawns quicker and hopefully isn't both oh yeah nice alrighty well we did it wait what was it it's a shade it's nice
