[Music] hey it's me I am gonna be testing out a couple craft kits today it has been a really long time since I've done a craft kit review or testing video it's been five months Wow what is happening with life and time I'm scared the reason I haven't been doing these is because since I moved this whole background here has been a work in progress I'm back with my table sandwich as I had before but this one is a more appetizing table sandwich I hope I need to get to the point let's just bring in the people these are my friends or my enemies to be determined and they're gonna battle each other to win my favorable opinion impress me so I'm doing bath bombs I was really late to the whole bath bomb thing I didn't get it for the longest time and then I tried them and I'm like no I really like bath bombs I'm gonna test both of them and I am going to tell you which one is better I got these from Hobby Lobby my favorite place to shop crafts ever this is a klutz kit which probably the only craft kit that I've had a good experience with was a klutz kit so I have really high hopes for this one this one never worked with this brand before don't know what to expect but it looks a little bit more simplistic to me just judging off the box so I think i'ma start with this one and then I'll do that one I have zero experience making bath bombs no clue what I'm doing which is why I'm getting these kits because I want to learn recently I went to a little shop completely dedicated to bath bombs and now I'm inspired shall we begin this is by mine to design it's got a handy dandy hint handle not as a action-packed as I was expecting this is everything we've got the traditional bath bomb mold and a heart mold Cole has two parts so it'll create a nice sphere but the heart only has one part so it's gonna have a flat bottom but we got coconut oil and then these must be for the scent mica powder colors are nice I like them and bath balm mix and baking soda what is bath bomb mix exactly cornstarch citric acid and Epsom salt okay and the instructions okay reading there's a lot of steps they do appear to be pretty thorough let me just jump into this process okay I think I want to do the round bath bomb first step 1 mix all dry ingredients in a bowl bowl measuring spoons first we need the baking soda 2 tablespoons of baking soda plus 1/2 the teaspoon we take an entire packet of the bath bomb mixture mix thoroughly with your hands ooh that's a weird consistency I don't know if I like that oh gosh it's just like chalk kind of and chocolate gives me the creeps a little bit so it's just kind of wigging me out I'm very sensitive let me go wash my hands hello I'm back ok it's time to add in the color so I have a decision to make I wasn't prepared to make this decision hmm I don't want to do just one color because that is so basic I'm going to choose pink and blue so I'm going to divide this in half that looks about even to me no there's more in this one whatever 1/4 of a teaspoon of color but if I divided it in half that I'll do an eighth of a teaspoon in each there we go wow that took out like most of the powder and for the blue the big question do we want glitter yes yes we do let's get wild in here I'm doing a good job now we mix and yay we get to use a spoon this time okay to inhale just asking for a friend [Music] what's next a half a teaspoon of coconut oil very very solid so I might have to warm this up mm-hmm all right so I just submerge this in some warm water for a few minutes it's definitely more manageable now so 15 drops of the essential oil you have to get the coconut oil really warm to blend it so you got it you got to get in there [Music] got my blue hand got my pink hand I'm gonna go wash both of them done with that now we have to add the water you have to add the water in slowly enough so that it doesn't start foaming up they don't provide the water for you Ruud we mix with one hand and we sprinkle lightly slowly with the other Oh No it's foaming up I mean as soon as I drip any water in it it starts flowing immediately I don't know how to add the water any slower than that dough it should be like wet sand and it should close together we've done it again I'm gonna wash my hands again we can finally put it in the mold oh the mixture dries out so you have to work fast okay and I'm just dilly-dallying here pack it in there switch colors oh yeah I can feel it's already starting to dry out shoot got the two sides now it has to put a little extra on the top and then just press them together that's my my best effort so now just let it sit in the mold for about a minute I'll be right back we're back it's time to break this thing out of the mold I'm really scared just carefully kind of ah that's not supposed to happen it didn't quite stick together oh oh okay all right it is really really really crumbly I think maybe I didn't work quick enough I think it got too dry so this could be my fault what do I do I'm gonna make another one this is how we test if it was my fault or if it's the kids fault because we need to assign blame here Ready Set make a new bath bomb [Music] what am i doing well these colors are kind of lame [Music] I've done all I can do it's time to pull it out it's the moment of truth man at least the two halves are intact oh wow yeah it's really crumbling apart attempt to number one attempt number two they're not that different so I'm not really sure what the issue is here is it me I have no idea we have to know at the very least do they fizz it's bath time OB would you like a bath here we go [Music] Wow leaves a very very gooey residue is that normal it's like gluey weirdo pee go give this a little plop hey that one actually looks a lot cooler than the other one this crap on the top though very weird it's like not dissolving in the water yeah I know thoughts on this kit it just creates a really crumbly gross feelin bath bomb so I'm not sure what contributed to that but whatever made that happen that nope that wasn't good let's not forget that we still have a whole other kit are you ready to do this all over again me too me too we can compare and see which one is better this one comes with an entire book attached to the front it tells you everything you need to know so let's open this baby up and see what we get in this kit here's what we're looking at hello rad baking soda so they've already colored the baking soda they gave us primary colors so essentially you can make any color that you want with the other kit we were really limited to just blue green pink and purple so I like that flexibility this is the scent which is strawberry Kiwi oh that's nice the other kit gave you two different scents which I liked but this one only gives you one glycerine which is what we're using instead of coconut oil I'm assuming maybe that'll make the difference with the residue and there's citric acid so there are some differences in the recipe here for sure we have molds a lot more mold variations than the other kit had oh there's a sphere in this one I guess we're gonna have to do that one to compare rainbow I have got to make these rainbow bath bombs let's do it teaspoon one and a half citric acid mix that together with a fork add 16 drops of glycerin mix the glycerin into the powder for two to five minutes I'm gonna have to do this for every color oh I almost forgot the scent one drop of scent that smells really good it's been just about three minutes and it is clumping together so I'm gonna say we're ready to go so you're supposed to just go ahead and pack it into the mold I do like that this one has clear mold so you can see what you're doing who I'm gonna be washing this bowl a lot next color we have to make orange now and the rest is just the same it's not the prettiest Orange I've ever seen in my life but it's not bad again with the mixing smells so good two to five minutes is longer to mix something than you would think and we just put this right on top of the red all right I will say this stuff does wash off very easily it's not gooey at all like the other stuff yellow time are we done yet it smells so good it says pour all the yellow over the orange layer but don't press it down so I suppose this means that this is not time sensitive as it was in the other kit that's good cuz I don't like feeling rushed so we're just kind of mounting that up there sure we need to start with this side and you're going to start from the bottom so it's time for the purple purple and you the mold I think I'm getting delirious let's go I'm gonna have to do some vacuum in today is it blue time that's not funny they call this mixture that you creates squishy sand do you know what a squishy is bro tip if your bath bomb crumbles that's okay does that mean that this is very likely going to crumble also please don't tell me that why would I choose the most time-consuming one why would I why would I do that move through the rainbow the rainbow one will be cool I've got a bad feeling about this bath bomb color bombs way too long we're gonna do the same thing with this one that we did with the yellow so just kind of pile it on there this is where it gets very interesting take the two halves and quickly put them on top of each other just have to do it okay I'm just gonna do it right after that it says carefully lift one half of the mold off let the bath bomb dry for about four days I can't wait four days so it says the bath bomb will fizz if you use it right away but if you're giving it as a gift to let the bath bomb sit for four days okay it does say that putting it in a refrigerator will help so I'm gonna go ahead run this up to the refrigerator and I'm just gonna have it in there for as long as it takes me to clean up and such but it's not gonna be no for days oops it's been thirty minutes oh no it's breaking they're not attached that's fine it looks cool it smells really good it definitely didn't crumble as much as the other one and I didn't let it cure for the full recommended time so should have made at least one of the like the flat back ones because I feel like I wouldn't have any issue with those this was just way more tedious and time-consuming than I expected I didn't expect it to take so long there are a lot of cool ideas in this that I didn't even get to so I feel like I could have done a whole video on just this one but what's done is done let's finally see what it looks like in the water [Music] that sucked that sucked it definitely fizzed up a lot more than the other ones the other ones hardly expanded at all so I was not expecting that also it didn't look cool at all it almost immediately went Browns smells really good though maybe I should have watched some tutorials or something before doing this maybe I should have dissolved them in the actual bath instead of in a jar they told me that I could do it in a jar and it would be fine overall if you're gonna buy a bath bomb kit I would say definitely go with this one this one just had way worse results at least there's no creepy jello at the top of the water and there's a lot of different ideas the instructions are easier to follow you don't have to rush because there's no like weird drying time things so that one was a lot better for sure but it's not that fun though it's massaging sand not that fun it would be worth it if I was able to get to the creative part but it took so long just to make one that I didn't even get to do anything creative really I just followed instructions the entire time so why did I try to put that huge bath bomb in a little jar honestly though I would try it again let me know should I give bath bombs another try and if so give me some advice thank you so much for watching I'm sorry that this didn't really provide any sort of instructional value aesthetic value maybe it was entertaining let's hope I will see you guys next week bye [Music]
