I Ran a 5k Everyday For a Month as a Total Beginner and This is What Happened...

[Music] [Applause] uh [Music] i've always hated running but i can't run very far without getting tired but i actually want to try running every single day and seeing what kind of progress i can make before i die like i want to be able to run a marathon i just i just think that's so cool [Applause] [Music] i think it has to do with a personal trait like wanting to get better wanting to constantly improve wanting to go one more all the time [Music] let's talk about running all right so i just finished my first 5k it was 94 degrees outside today i know my time was not good but i finished it and honestly that's all that matters [Music] day two is done it's monday july 13th it's week two now also trying to be really clean while i do this challenge just so i can get the full benefits out of it [Music] so i've been reading this book recently it's called deep nutrition i don't know i just think it's interesting to like learn about food and what it does to our bodies my brother actually told me about this book i'm almost done with it really has made a big impact on the food choices that i make [Music] so today is day 9 of 5k every day this challenge is going great i honestly i feel so much better like cliche but rotting makes you feel so good hey guys um so today i'm walking my 5k but i drove to kyoga national park in ohio it's kind of on my bucket list to go to all the national parks in the u.s so crossing this one off the list today just finished run number 10. i just got my best time ever [Music] i just finished run number 14. all right so my app says i'm about to go out on my 16th run it's really hot out again it's like 90 degrees i keep picking the worst time of the day to go it's so hot it's like 100 degrees i was just dying [Music] mile 12 and i feel great at the three mile mark and i feel great oh actually this is the last week it's like week five i think at first i was improving really quickly but now um i'm either not running as fast as i did the day before or only like a couple seconds faster but today i actually got a little bit better than my best time only by like a couple seconds but only four more days left that's crazy all right so today is wednesday august 5th so you know what that means tomorrow is the last day of the challenge i'm gonna do it tomorrow morning before i work and i'm gonna give it my all and see if i can get my best time for my last run what i've realized is like running really is such a mental thing it's just all about just pushing through and telling yourself that you can do it like you can just go a little bit farther try to find things to think about while running that take your mind off like how badly you want to stop um it really helps i just try to think about different things in my mind other than the fact that i'm running and i'm tired and i'm one stop i love casey neistat and um he has this video called mind games and it's all about running now that i've actually started running this entire month like that video is so accurate and it's just crazy like how much of a mind game running is more than your physical capability running's like kind of been the highlight of my day every day um yeah it just makes me really happy and it makes me feel accomplished but overall i love this challenge um if there's any other fitness challenges like you guys want to see me do i'm totally down i think i'm gonna start um lifting and like resistance training and kind of film that whole process so if that's something you guys want to see just comment down below i'll totally like make a video about that uh yeah i think that's all i have to say all right so i just finished my last run of this challenge and i got my best time [Music] uh you
