I Picked All My Soap Ingredients BLINDFOLDED....Weird Soap Making at Royalty Soaps

hello everyone welcome back to royalty soaps today I will be doing a soap challenge that I have never seen before and have never done before I am going to blindfold myself and pick out a fragrant soil colorants embeds and maybe even some glitters and a piping tip without seeing any of them completely blind and then I'm gonna challenge myself to create a soap loaf using all of these items but before we begin I just wanted to remind you that the wild summer collection will be available on Saturday there's only one more video till that is available and we will be releasing a brand new product line that's right after literally what is it like almost two years now of formulating conditioner bars they are going to be available we will have five the different options some of which are silicone free for our curly-headed people so down here in front of me I have collected all of the two ounce fragrance oil samples and a couple of the four ounces that I have in my shop and before I pick one I'm going to kind of mix them all around and blindfold myself some of these two ounce fragrance oils do discolor so that's gonna make it even more challenging now to blindfold myself I will be using the slip sleep mask to do so and let me tell you this is probably the only thing I've used this sleep mask for in the past six months I bought it online at 2:00 a.m. when I was pregnant and having trouble sleeping because some bougie influencer told me I should and let me tell you it's about as worthless as swim trunks and Antarctica it just slips off your face when you're sleeping I have never once worn this and it was still on my face in the morning it just comes right off who knows how long it actually like stays on you I do not recommend this product okay here we go put this on it does feel nice but again completely worthless alright so I am now blindfolded I'm gonna mix these up I didn't take a good look at them beforehand but hey we're still gonna mix just in case okay I'm gonna pick the one my finger touches first oh wow right dead in the middle of one tada what is that let's see ocean shores by Brambleberry how does it smell oh it smells really good kind of beachy it has a lot of earthy tones in there for being a beach fragrance I'm kind of surprised a little bit of sweet in there got some tropical things going on behaves well and cold process soap dis colors - none in cold bras well I really lucked out with that one didn't I so I'm going to put all of these extras away and fetch my four buckets of embeds so here are all the extra embeds I hope we keep them sealed so that they don't sweat or get any contaminants on them and if we do a remake of a soap then we come and dig through here to see if we already have some embeds to use thus saving raw materials so what I'm gonna do this time is put my blindfold on and then I'm gonna kind of dig through and just grab I think one bag from each here's my first one come over here is this the second container yes I'm gonna dig in I'll just grab this one off the top and I can't really tell by feeling what's in these they're kind of a funny shape and you'd be surprised when you blindfold yourself your sight since for embeds feels really necessary like this I don't have any idea what this is but here's number three okay let's see what I got Oh No what okay hold on though we've got no I've got some leaves I've got purple flowers and gears for an ocean fragrance what am I gonna do look you know what's funny these two greens actually kind of go together though those sort of match but like the ocean parts seriously what am I gonna do alright time to put these back and we'll get down some colors I'm gonna start by taking down all of the jars that are the same size I feel like this is gonna help me not cheat these all have smooth tops too so I'm not gonna be able to be like oh yeah I know cause Carolyn's in a ribbed top and all the rest of them are smooth I'm only picking smooth tops hey here we go all the same tops all the same size put on my mask then I'm gonna mix it all up I don't know if this is actually doing anything but I assume it's working okay now I'm gonna pick two colors and once again I'm just gonna put my finger down and whatever it lands on that's what we're using tada these are the two colors are they good Oh I mean green we got green vibrant so that's good that'll kind of match some of those but what the heck am I gonna do with rose pink rose pink Crossville could y'all please tell me what my brother wrote on this jar so for the next round of colorants I tried to pick a smaller jar but one that I had a lot of so all of these are from Matt Micah's they're the only ones I think that use this sized jar with this type of lid so I'm gonna be confused I wonder if I should pick one or two of these let's go for two and make it home okay okay oopsie I'm sorry about that let's bring all these in I love you all right here we go I'm gonna put it at a diagonal angle this time okay I'll only touch this one there's nothing over here there we go these are the colors are you serious are you serious I'm so disappointed there will be some difference in the soap but I just don't know what to do about this okay how did that happen literally how did that happen I've got like 88 colors here I'm sure okay so you see all those teeny tiny nurture colorants up there those are coming down okay I think I've grabbed enough of a sampling I'm gonna throw a couple more blues in there it's really heavy on the Reds and this mix but if I pick the way I've been picking where I just take my fingers and go down it doesn't really I'm not gonna be able to feel them out okay let's mix these up I'm sure some of them are gonna fall over or a lot of them that's just gonna have to be the way it is okay all right let's go this way this time oh this is a big one here's the two colors okay a wild strawberry mineral glitter okay and proud as a peacock from Fizz fairy finally a blue for the ocean so I'm sure this will be the easiest batch I've ever made and for the piping tips I'm just gonna put them in this cup and shake it up pour them out and then just touch one okay palm out and touch oh let's try again well at least I'm gonna try to touch one where are you oh goodness okay this one this is the round one is this an 808 it's an 806 I completely round tip of course so it's the next day I put all of my colors back and I drew up the soap design the thing that really was hanging me up was that pink mica it just doesn't flow with the other colors and as far as the embeds go obviously the gears were sort of putting a wrench in the system if you know what I mean but after drumming up about three designs I have finally landed on something I feel flows kind of well introducing dystopian rainforests so you see at the bottom will use the blue mixed with a little bit of green to get a pond and then we'll do a layer of green with the pink being piped in to look like flowers in a field so there'll be a pond next to a field and then on top sort of extending the field out a little bit and you are finding within it some gears some flowers some leaves I thought maybe the gears have been there really long time they've rusted a little bit give it sort of that steampunk vibe all in all titanium dioxide would really help this design but I don't have that available so I'm going to make the best of it and do what I can with these colors I don't know how well this is actually gonna translate into a soap but we're giving it our best shot time to prep my colors so I'm gonna start with the pond we're gonna use proud as a peacock for 1/2 and then proud as a peacock mixed with some green vibrance for the other half I'm doing this just so that the water has a little bit more depth to it instead of being one flat color now normally I would add titanium dioxide so you have a little bit of a lighter and a darker kind of showing contrasting shadows and highlights but I don't have TD this time so we're gonna use this green to sort of just pull it into a more aqua color less blue more teal so there's our water portion done now for the flower filled so for the flowers I'm going to use a mix of all three of the pinks we've got the wild strawberry mineral glitter so they will also be a little bit sparkly we've got the voodoo pink and the rose pink whatever this one is that Kenny wrote funny and then for the green we're gonna do a mix of crazy eyes from Mad Micah's this is the green with gold shimmery undertones with the green vibrance so here you have it all of the colors that I pulled in the base of the soap which I'm really happy I was able to pull off this is a little teeny tiny batch so I don't feel like I have to mix all the colors with oil but I am gonna mix the pink with oil because I'm going to have the least amount of that and I'm going to be squishing it well yeah squishing it you'll see I've moved the camera in real close because you guys said you enjoyed seeing the blending really really close so let's get started on the soap and a pour in my water solution my lye water solution is just sodium hydroxide with water no sodium lactate or anything in this batch and then the oil blend that I have is down in the description box below it is a free recipe for anyone who wants to use it now I'm going to blend with my little stick blender here for about 10 seconds until everything is incorporated and there isn't any oil remaining on top the batch is blended and everything has been emulsified so I'm going to split off the batter and I've actually decided to do less of the water wait maybe not no I'll make it even I'll make it even so let's set this one off to the side and we'll work with the water put one blue in this side one blue in this side how did the fragrance oil which smells so good alright I'm gonna dump that in there there does seem to be a pretty distinct difference between the two blues it's a little darker than I would normally choose but perhaps that will add to the mystery and the mystique of the dystopian rainforest you don't know what's in these waters alright I will now pour it into our mold just like this the colors are staying nice and separate which is good alright first layers in okay so now for the flowers and the green meadow my soap is setting up a little faster than normal which is funny because it's a very very cool temperatures and I didn't over blend so I don't know what's going on with that but I'm just gonna scoop some of this soap into here I think that's about enough for what I'm trying to accomplish I'm gonna put in all this pink color and then I'm gonna squish it around yes squishing right and goes the green blend and I'm gonna blend this in by hand because I don't want this soap to thicken up any more than it already is awesome now using my scissors I'm gonna make the tiniest little snip from the edge of this bag alright and we're gonna pour that first layer of green and I'm gonna try to make it relatively thin and mush it around it absolutely does not have to be flat again this is a flower field so it's gonna look a little bit harum-scarum okay let's put the first line of flowers in to make our flower lines we're just going to put a little piping in like this I'm gonna put some closer to each other some further away hopefully when I'm pouring this next layer on it doesn't move it too much it's just so thick that's so frustrating I really wanted to have lots of flowers in here but I just don't think I'm gonna be able to do it because of the thickness of the soap I don't understand build these up a little bit more since I just tapped it down maybe I'll just try to scoop it on and cover it like this and then tap it down and hopefully that will preserve a lot of the line integrity I feel like trying to smear anything at this point is definitely not gonna help alright let's top this down see how we're doing I feel like even though this isn't going exactly the way I envisioned it the idea is still going to be well at least I'll be able to explain it [Music] okay last line in so let's just add some more flowers down for this last bit they can poke up a little bit because the frosting is going to be green anyway oh right and I do have some leftover soap batter so let me show you what I've been doing anytime I have leftovers I've just been adding it to this big conglomerate batch of soap I'm just gonna squish all this right inside just like so and then I bet it's gonna take me like I don't know a year or something to fill this up then we can cut it this is basically the soap equivalent of Christine from simply no logical uh like pili bag what should we call this like soap Mountain or something all the extras all the leftovers let me know what we should call it down in the comments below alright and let's get the soap frosting ready I thought it would be a really swell idea to put some green soap frosting on the top before it had set up to fill in the gaps from where the little flowers are gonna be but now I am regretting my decision admittedly my soap frosting is still a little bit runny but I find that round tips typically do better if it's a little bit runny if it's really really stiff then the piping can look kind of squatty round tips I save for special occasions it is by far the hardest one to pipe in my opinion I use it a lot in wintertime because it looks like snow peaks also very good for decadent things like chocolate besides the soap setting up a little faster than I would have liked this design is actually going off pretty well now I have no idea what its gonna look like when I cut it open and maybe my whole take on these colors is going to be abysmal but I have high hopes this green looks really pretty with the shiny mica added now at first I had mixed up some of this red to drizzle on top but I feel now that that might be confusing for the design so I'm just gonna take some more of the crazy eyes and shimmer it across the top shimmering something that is not an adjective you use for this last time I checked to shimmer something was not really something that you do but you know whatever I make upwards okay we spritz this in with some rubbing alcohol it actually looks really good I have quite a few gears so I'm gonna try to use some of the bigger ones since we are trying to make this very obviously dystopian look at this one really like that I just had an idea to put some of that strawberry sparkling mica on to these little purple flowers to sort of pull those in a little more since there's no purple in the soap oh yes another reason it's good to keep your round piping a little looser is because if you're putting embeds in it it's a lot more noticeable when hard frosting has set up because it doesn't really absorb the embed like it normally would it kind of like cracks around the corners in my opinion it just doesn't look as good all right let's put the leaves on now you ever try to pull a glove on a sweaty hand not a very easy thing to do these leaves look really nice okay so with all the leaves in I'm going to go add the final touches maybe a few more little gears and then I'll bring you guys in for a close-up Wow well would you just look at that I don't know how much I've achieved their rainforest look on top but I do get dystopian vibes and given the raw materials I was working with I will content myself with that so we are going to let this sit for 18 to 24 hours and then we will come back and chop it up take a peek at the inside and compare it against the original design after this quick commercial break okay guys so I'm back the next day here's what the soap looks like it does look much different I don't even think that green changed a lot um in color I'm just gonna slide it out of the mold here let's peel back these sides it's kind of sticky not too bad okay gonna peel down the back whoo it smells really nice mmm got my soap cutter here so I'm just gonna line this up I'm so anxious about the flowers on the in side okay I'm not gonna even look at it first I'm just gonna show it to you guys this is what it looks like on the inside well that doesn't that doesn't look exactly how I wanted him so the flowers really flattened out quite a bit definitely because the green was so thick and heavy had it been nice and runny they would have maintained their little round piped shape and they wouldn't have been squashed I don't know I guess they could still be like poppies or something maybe a flatter flower but that definitely doesn't make a lot of sense also I can see it gelled but only partially so I hope as this sits this dark area right here either lightens or you know something I'm definitely starting to regret my decision not to put some of the red on top as vines I think that would have helped at least a little bit well it's not my most beautiful soap but I did have fun with the creativity challenge of picking everything blindfolded and attempting to make something out of it I hope you guys enjoyed today's video I hope it brought you some joy and some happiness and made you feel good inside I recently saw a comment from somebody who said I hope you don't get offended but I use your videos to help me fall asleep at night and I was like no offense taken that is a huge compliment I'm so glad that my voice can somehow help you get sleepy however you want to use royalty soaps to alleviate anxiety or just give you something to look forward to throughout the day go for it my whole point with royalty soaps is to bring you guys happiness and to make you feel peaceful and calm and excited and all of those good happy feelings and so hey if sleepy is your happy feeling
