I Moved In With an Indian Family (Diwali)

inside this house is our indian family for the next 24 hours let's go meet them i'm not sure how to greet them so hopefully don't mess up i got a gift too you're coming hey hi how are you [Music] for us today what do you know about indian culture i've never been to india but my dad was just really fan of bollywood movies so growing up we watched we had like over 50 at our home and we would watch him every friday with him i don't know if i know that much about india what is this this is indian tea oh wow amazing thank you thank you this is chai um i love chai is it like the starbucks chai no no this is awesome we did the same thing um in ethiopia my family's ethiopian we don't put milk it's the only difference but it's brewed the same way otherwise it's the same you haven't tried today and we know what is this seven or nine chakras which we call the most powerful chakra is located between the eyebrows they applied they luck to tell you and remind you that the ultimate goal of life is divinity got it we will chant and meditate for five minutes then we will continue this in the evening so basically what we did was we invited god then the evening we will uh complete the puja okay [Music] and what is the chant saying so basically we are kind of bowing down to each of the different levels of godliness at higher up and getting their blessings right so we go down and eat some the temple to do puja again no i think it's more praying isn't that what pooch is okay we're still learning out here i'm marking on you notice i always say i don't like indian food i i have not had a single thing i i didn't like today so tonight we can do it turn on all the lamps nice and which temple are we going to uh jane temple jain temple yeah i've never been to really all right so we're here at the jain temple it's my first temple experience i didn't know what to expect and it's so peaceful in here [Music] what is this what do you do in the temple when you're inside i was about to say that we pray but we don't pray actually we meditate and we look inside actually we connect ourselves to the higher being or spiritual being [Music] what a beautiful temple so peaceful how's your mood changed oh it feels very serene you'll be feeling like lighter than you entered i think that's really nice not often that you don't talk you couldn't wait to say that we can go to a hindu temple right now yeah let's go so why are we going to this temple diwali yeah we're just going to go and pray to as many gods as we can yeah wish for the best luck yeah the gods yeah but it's not a jain this is not a gentleman [Music] so we're just visiting a bunch of temples and seeing how people you know pray and celebrate this special day and feels like i'm part of a of something this is this is something that people care about a lot this is a religion something that i don't associate with much so you decorate your floors with different colors and here you see the rice and different colors have been organized in a nice decorative manner what was it called again two temples how religious are you feeling it hasn't changed whenever my family would travel to different countries in asia like we'd always use temples my sister and i would be like oh not another temple but as i get older i start to appreciate it more this is my can right now i'm tired we have an exciting night ahead of us so saying family being together respect it's a modern take on what it means to be indian i think is diversity the different cultures different people coming from different parts of the country but then coming together here it's less uh common in india because you're in your own bubbles but here i i see a lot of diversity that's what it means to be indian also we've just been having such a nice time just talking with the family and the friends like this video makes us feel like we have new family we are always looking for new families if you want us to come to your family then comment and
