I LIED ABOUT 3D PRINTING PRICES! (My Apology)

my hello everybody welcome to uh this video so today we're gonna be talking about 3d printing being just too damn expensive it's really not worth it it's easier and it's better to just buy official models at full price and speaking of very expensive 3d printers i got to make myself some money introducing kamasargamza's patreon damn you damns are you son check this out boys we've got one two this april this is an incredible deal that is likely to rotate out by the end of this month all right 3d printing far too damn expensive the hidden cost gamza doesn't want to tell you about so first and foremost why am i making this video well it's because of just that time and time again i get a lot of people who try to pretty much tussle with me and they're talking about i'm not including certain costs as gloves alcohol the resin or the price of the 3d printer itself etc now what i'm going to say is i actually believe they are not really arguing with me they are essentially arguing with themselves they're trying to justify why one they don't need a 3d printer and two why their previous purchases from let's say warhammer 40k models from the official games workshop website or their local gaming store is justified a lot of times people will make choices in life and then if something comes up that is new perhaps it's newer and better they don't want to feel like they've been ripped off and that's completely understandable it sucks to know whether you've lost money or you've even lost respect for yourself which as far as i can tell is quite justified the other argument that i get quite a lot that i really enjoy seeing is if everybody starts 3d printing your local gaming store will shut down or games workshop will shut down who's going to write the rules this is something that i see all the time and i think mark twain actually said this very well which is it's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled and this fits perfectly when it comes to 3d printing when you tell these people the prices of 3d printing for instance my own infantry soldiers that i have on my patreon to print 10 of them on my resin printer cost me 80 cents for a full squad of 10 men now if you were to go buy something similar to that on games workshop it would cost you around 84 dollars yes right 84 dollars compared to 80 cents which is ridiculous and it's crazy to think that even then once you see that price difference people will still try to nickel and dime you to death with what about the gloves that you had to use what about the isopropyl alcohol that you had to use to clean your your miniatures and i'm sitting here going what kind of a difference do you think that's going to make do you think adding on an additional 10 cents and making it 90 cents to print these models is gonna somehow justify your 84 dollar purchase but once again mark twain got it right now unlike you even a clown takes its makeup off at the end of the day these are people who don't want to look silly in front of others but the irony of the situation is because you refuse to acknowledge that there's makeup on your face you refuse to remove it so thus you remain the funny clown that everybody laughs at now if somebody was just simply telling me hey i'm not interested in 3d printing i don't have the room for it don't have the time for it and most importantly i'm not interested i would say that is a completely respectable response it's only when you're running and hiding from the truth that you look more of a fool than you do somebody who's just simply not interested now another hidden cost that gamza always hides from you is the price of the 3d printer itself so when i say that a squad of 10 guys cost me 80 cents to print what i really meant to say was it cost me a thousand dollars to print because i have to include the electricity the 3d printer the resin the gloves the alcohol everything now we all knew you were a clown but whoever thought you had the talents to be an entire circus so who the hell out here buys a 3d printer to print a single squad of soldiers and then includes that in the price you would then literally be justified in buying something official like games workshop and spending 84 for a single squad of guys but the idea to put this behind a single squad of soldiers is simply absurd we all know that it would be like saying how much does it cost for you to get to work i don't know how much does your car cost no what we do is we count the gas that it takes to get to your job we don't include the cost of the car because the car is going to be used for hopefully a couple of years at least now imagine the level of cope once i tell them how much cheaper a bicycle is getting to work than a car now the other one is if everybody starts to 3d print games workshop will go extinct now during this catastrophic event apparently all the codices across the entire world all the rulebooks all the rules everything that any man could ever conceive of gets instantly deleted and thus warhammer 40k instantly gets destroyed in a single swoop all due to 3d printing now my good boys let me reassure you on this that is never going to happen and this is how i can tell that you're one of the newer players because first and foremost for those of you who have been playing for a long time you know what house rules are or what friendly custom rules are in games people add rules all the time to official games they have house rules to these official games or they create their own narrative campaigns this has been going on for a very long time 3d printing actually expands the rules and the capabilities of what you have on the tabletop because if you have a very unique rule or unit that you want to create well you actually get to 3d print it you don't have to go out there and start buying all these pieces to try to put together this model or this creature that you're trying to create you can literally sculpt it and 3d print it done and done so there's always going to be customized rules and there's always going to be customized models those two go hand in hand it's your imagination that keeps these things alive it's not this giant creature called games workshop where if it goes extinct therefore all war gaming just instantly collapses overnight i don't know where this type of mentality came from but it is the players the heart and soul and our love for these games is what keeps it going not the soulless entity of games workshop that wants to suck as much money as they can out of you now when it does come to 3d printing normally there is a slightly higher initial startup cost than something like let's just say warhammer 40k with warhammer 40k you can buy those 80 squad of 10 guys right but that's just 80 bucks a 3d printer you're most likely not going to find for 80 unless you find an old used one in a garage sale which hey good for you but i'm gonna say this it is better to save up your pennies for a few extra months to get the 3d printer that you want that you're going to be happy with then from there on out you can just start printing and going away you're off to the races now here's the other thing too is that warhammer 40k let's say you're starting off with that hobby how many people do you know that jumped into the hobby and immediately dropped you know two thousand dollars into the hobby not that many people normally i would say the vast majority of people are buying maybe a start collecting set or one or two units in a box separately and then they slowly over the years build up their forces and they kind of decide where they want to go from there on out 3d printing is really cool in the sense where you all you have to do is buy just the machine and the resin and then from there you can branch out in any direction that you want so that actually is a lot better because you don't have to worry about oh i made the wrong purchase i just purchased a hundred dollar tank or a model and it's not that good i don't like playing this no more there's nothing you can really do about it however with 3d printing if you print out a tank that would normally cost 100 it's probably gonna cost you around maybe eight dollars to ten dollars to print that bad boy so the regret level drops dramatically and you could always use it for ruins terrain or you can trade it to a friend or anything else like that because the investment once that model actually comes out is a lot lower you know that you can always make more if you need you always know that you can branch off and go to another army we already know that the buttermilk bobs love flavor of the month and the funny thing is 3d printing helps everybody across the board whether you're a power gamer a competitive player and you want to get out there and just start duplicating the most expensive crazy ridiculous cheese models that you can or if you're really interested in customizing units let's say that you want to make a type of looted vehicle or a specific type of faction the tank that's not really made officially you can 3d print those that's the flexibility of it so it's actually a win-win situation across the board that all you need is a machine and then you could branch off into any kind of army that you want to build rather than spending all that investment into a single army and then realizing that the value has depreciated on it and if you were to try and buy another army you have to reinvest all those resources so a thousand dollars into this army and that doesn't work for out for you okay now it's time to go off and spend another thousand dollars into another army and we all know right now a thousand dollars is not gonna buy you that big of an army however with 3d printing a thousand dollars will get you a 3d printer all the supplies to 3d print including the resin the gloves the alcohol that's going to get you a wash and cure station and it's actually going to leave you a lot of money left over you could legit build an entire massive apocalypse type army with a thousand dollars and that is including the resin printer and the cost of everything else already so without a doubt 3d printing is the future it is a winner my goal with these types of videos is to really explain and show the positivity of 3d printing and the wargaming games that we really enjoy now a majority of the people that are against 3d printing will likely remain that way regardless of what you say to them because they've already made up their mind the goal isn't to listen to you and see what you have to say and really dig into this their goal is to say i've already made my decision 3d printing is bad you're an idiot and a liar however there's always at least a pinch of people out there that are willing to listen and to see things from a different point of view and that's the crowd that i'm after that's the crowd that i really want to welcome into the 3d printing hobby group if that's even what you want to call it i don't really like saying that it's just the idea of saying it is a new hobby that you can join in on and it's very fulfilling to be able to create things for yourself and 3d print them out that is a lot more fulfilling than going online and clicking order and spending 10 times as much as you would if you just had a 3d printer if you're curious and want to get into 3d printing i have a couple of reviews of 3d printers if you're looking to get models and start with your own army my patreon is 15 and it gives you an entire army right now that you can grab
