I Learn How To Make Death Grips Type Bass Like ANDY MORIN

yo what's up guys welcome to another video on this broken english channel i think this video will be a relatively short one because um yeah i don't think i have much to show you this week i just found a new technique honestly that's why i was i'm really excited to show you guys to be honest and it's actually to make like really weird glitchy idm type bass lines or leads or whatever really if you're very that sound like sound design which i am right now i'm taking steps to learn and that's why i'm like going through all this and i guess learning and i found this new technique actually that i feel like you guys could benefit as well um i've been trying to make a bunch of death grips type beats this past week and so um a lot of their beats have quite very weird synthetic sounding bass lines and just sins as well and so i thought i tried to make i try to make like a very weird sounding bass and i actually took a drum break and turned it into an idm bass so this is the sound that we'll be focusing on today [Music] so that's actually uh a base and not base sorry that's actually a drum break initially so um let me just bring up the drum brakes first so the original brand brakes actually this is called train your mind sounds like [Music] yeah so um obviously like if i try to do it again i probably won't get to the similar sound but i'm gonna try and show you what i did essentially so what i did is i took the drum brake and kind of found like a section that i like so let's say even that's kind of already kind of good but i'd say i want to change it up a bit and maybe um yeah let's see let's do let's this i want to loop this right [Music] so i'm just going to consolidate it and then just pitch it down and with the beats transient so i'm going to put the b transit to very low and push it down so that's already kind of nice so i'm gonna get rid of a lot of that i'm gonna freeze it and then flatten it so now you see it's even more it's very choppy now and i'm even gonna actually push it down a bit more maybe and chop it up even more oops let's see if i can with the the pattern even more all right let's take that and we're gonna even put it even more so that's pretty good that sounds really pretty good already right it sounds really like weird there's like a very nice like rhythm to it um i'm gonna chuck on a glue compressor first just so i can make sure that every hits around the same like volume let's check on the saturated just to maybe brighten up some of the all right let's see that freeze it even more and flatten it again yep so you see now all the transients are all hitting around the same volume right and this is actually where the money maker comes in to be honest is this thing called corpus yeah so what the corpus really yeah corporate sounds really dope so this is how you do it [Music] all right as you can see you're gonna choose the pipe right all right let's just first find out what the i guess pitch of the the loop is i can't remember just use the spectrum to see so if i look at the spectrum it sounds it looks like it's hitting around this peaking area that's about 2 200 so that's about c sharp right now we want to see so this isn't a qc if we keep it scrolling up we can actually go to the c so let's see to find oops let's try get as close to c-sharp as possible all right that's pretty close let's see if i can get closer i guess so that's a very close that's pretty close to the c sharp already and but it still sounds very like in a higher pitch right so instead of that we're gonna actually pitch it down so i did something wrong i'm gonna pitch it down to maybe c shot like number two or some [Music] do you see where i'm going right now boys it's already sounding very bassy and um oh all right so it seems like 1669. anyway so 69.25 seems to be about the ballpark of where the c shop is and we're just gonna around with the knobs here so i'm gonna just like use this automation and automate the parts as you can see here my original thing i kind of just went ham i might even do the same actually maybe instead of doing that i will use this maybe let's extend it for a few more bars please send this for a few more bars so we can get like a different maybe just in a bar loop instead so if you guys want you guys can actually even um it's actually even easier if you do this i guess group it up and um there we go macro this so we're gonna map this to macro one so that's the delay and this to macro tubes this to macro two so instead of having to individually run this which is going to use this knob press the minus button to get rid of everything and then let's see what we can do here so yep let's [Music] all go so what what that does is that actually to loop the so let's say we go to automation oh oh man let's see you know what i'm just gonna draw it in oh so that's crazy yeah let's try this [Music] so that's already kind of cool sounding so right now it's just really experimenting and putting like just random to see what sounds good [Music] [Music] [Music] do so that's a really kind of weird sound let me just duplicate it and then freeze and flatten this so you see that almost like a bass right it almost acts like a bass if you want to get rid of that that little kick we could just um go into the individual thing and just like uh yeah fade it in so i'm just gonna fade some of these in [Music] there you go that's a very weird sounding idm bass let's see if it sounds nice with like some loop like some drum dudes and plays it for now just [Music] so [Music] yeah that's how you make like weird glitchy idm drums in like like 10 minutes 10 12 minutes it's not very long um essentially the the thing that i want to boil down to is the um corpus corpus um audio audio effect don't forget don't sleep on this guy this is actually a bass producing like synthesis like i don't know it's amazing after i found like after finding out how to use corpus i'm gonna make a lot of my weird bases with this because like uh it just seems like i'm more comfortable chucking on random audio effects than like drawing in or like picking a particular waveform from a wave table for example and then making my own so from this is like fun because you don't know where this will end up and you kind of just yeah you'll get something [Music] i i i didn't plan any of this that's kind of sick already and i'm just like this is the start i haven't even properly do anything crazy to it yet and that's how you make uh weird glitchy idm beats i've been trying to make death grip big so um let me know if you guys
