I-H TD15 151 Dozer

okay well I'm out here today with the t15 151 and I want to see if we can get it fired up today it's been set in a long time but this engine if you look on this side is a diesel everything on this diesel if you go to the other side you see the carburetor spark plugs and that's the way they started so all we got here is a lever we'll pull this out here in a minute what this does is it opens the third I think it's the third valve in the head it opens that up to the spark chamber it lowers the compression of the diesel so that it can burn gas safely and then it also turns on the ignition hello Roxy it also turns on the ignition on the spark and terms of gas on the carburetor this lever does a lot of stuff it runs all the way through the motor so it when you flip it on this side it does more than one thing but anyway I'm gonna see if we can't get this thing fired up I don't know if it'll start it's been a long time decompression lever lock said that also will turn on the gas to the carburetor down here there's also a lever here that changes the valve in this intake manifold and want to make sure it's open because what this does is when it's running on diesel it just sucks air in through a separate passage but whenever you flip it to gas it actually pulls the air in through the carburetor and back up into the manifold for the ignition spark plugs are down here if you can see a much will under there but the distributor carburetor I'm gonna turn the gas on here and Locksley I don't know what this like maybe nothing but we will give it a try turn the key on okay like this should be on a little choke [Applause] I'm thinking we're not getting any gas that lever didn't move [Music] No Deal kind of surprising in a way these things usually fire pretty easy I'm gonna flip that lever couple down make sure well it looks like we're gonna make jumper cables [Music] when this matter when this dozer was new it had two batteries I've got the battery box out of it right now and some stuff off I was gonna put it all back together once I figure out you know if we got we were getting some water in the transmission somehow and I'm not sure how and I think we've got it fixed but maybe not anyway used to have two batteries when it's new so it'd probably crank a lot better with two but I got I just want to warn you that a lot of this older equipment that had generators runs a positive ground on it so when your jump chart jump-starting you got to be sure you keep your polarity right and don't touch your vehicle's together you could have a cross connection there so anyway we got a little more current going to it we'll see what happens Roxy you just can't wait to ride the dozer Oh that didn't sound good well I have a good connection all my battery I gotta check it out well I'm gonna let it charge a little bit while it's charging I'll show you around the old machine this is a 151 they built a 150 and 151 I think this tractor was built in Canada if I don't if I'm not mistaken some of them are built in the US but it has I think a 110 horsepower is the rated power on it's got a 10 foot wide blade but you notice the blades a little shorter than some of the bigger tractors like the TD 15 C's and even the bees had a lot taller bleed so these weren't really rated for you know they were they were a big dozer for the day and I think at the time they were actually more horsepower than a d6 that the Year this was put out I think International usually tried to they were competing I know that I don't know if they was always ahead of them but they tried to try to stay up on her horsepower we want to show you this is a sprocket that an old man the guy we bought this from his dad actually built this is actually an old sprocket that he took a welder and he sat down in the shop one day and he actually built these teeth you just don't see that a whole lot anymore and on these a lot of these are rings that he probably left the hub on this tractor cut the ring off Andry welded the sprocket back on the old hub that's how they did a lot of that stuff back then this one's got pretty good rails on it it's got a couple of pins on the other side that are froze up though so probably this sides been it was froze up and I think my dad got it fixed and it should be in good shape now but the other side it's got good pretty good undercarriage other than the stuck pins it's got a cable unit we've got a cat 60 scraper that my dad has you spot a bit with it and it actually works pretty well the cable units it's pretty wore out it needs a little attention but cable unit's not an international that's the what is that Buckeye I don't want something like that anyway I think this is a this old tractor was firts age I think it's in decent shape I mean it's a it's probably there's probably some better ones out there but we've got a exhaust on it or off of it I believe the the twin exhausts come off of a TD 18 the original had one exhaust and a muffler that went across there so anyway I got Chucky I make two thousand on over here diagnose diagnosing my carburetor issues what's wrong is that what Chucky would say yes because he doesn't understand how carburetors work really man I need to watch his channel sounds look so how would we feel invictus okay cool well I think this has stopped up there's a problem I've been sitting too long probably bad gas need see what would you recommend for an additive seafoam what would Chucky is give me money for it oh yeah promotions from you get our discount or see phones give me money oh good Lee Lucas well I think that's the problem I think it gets jammed full of crap Steven no Steven probably wouldn't know just see like carburetors I thought you want Stevens Channel - I can't watch Stevens Channel long enough to make fun of him well I better put the camera down I'm gonna break something well this is what the inside of the carburetor looks like after sitting for about 10 years [Music] looks like it
