I Found a Stolen Chevy Blazer and Hail Damaged Avalanche at IAA Super Cheap!

what is going on ladies and gentlemen welcome back to auto auction rebuilds we are back at Insurance Auto Auctions for another walk around let's jump into this video today and see what we find we're going to start off with a thumbnail today with a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche and I'm actually looking at this because monkey wrench Mike is interested in it and I wanted to be sure to you know make sure this is going to be decent for him Z71 off-road looks like it's got good tires this thing looks very complete this is a nice truck right now 775 dollars is the current bid and the auction is tomorrow tomorrow 775 dollars I'm not joking like this isn't click bait I'm not making it up it's 775 now I expected this thing to go for I don't know three or four thousand dollars maybe better hail damage for sure lots of hail damage and if you look at the hood Bondo work all over the place and the hail has actually brought out the Bondo it destroyed the Bondo so let's let's take a look at the interior of this real quick Mike is very interested in this one like he is very very interested I was tempted to bet on it myself and I was like you know what he needs a good truck I think this would be great for him I love the leather interior this is nice this is really really nice the two-tone gray on black interior the fender flares man it's a good looking truck and it looks like it'd be very comfortable too what do you guys think I think this is it man I do I think this is it it's got some underglows that somebody left on which probably isn't good let's put the key in it doesn't have remote start hell I might want this no I don't think it's got remote start maybe it does I don't know dead as a doornail okay thank you for the beeping let's go ahead and pop the hood should just have a little 5.3 under it good enough to get the job done and 200 000 miles ooh cold air intake cold air inductions all right and the emissions label is gone but I think we can all agree that this is going to be a a 5.3 let me get a jump on this thing let's fire it up see what it does all right jump pack is on look how much more room there is under the hood of this than under the SSR you know so much more room to work okay here we go oh that that doesn't sound good uh my jump pack is fully charged so I know that's not a problem maybe I need to find a better ground um let's try you don't get much better than the actual battery you know what I mean but uh we'll try I'm gonna try getting a better bite on the battery maybe maybe that'll help come on they make it so difficult there we go yeah that battery's dead 7.9 volts that battery is absolutely dead let's do it come on oh okay this sounds nice oh it comes with the original intake oh come on man I like this if he doesn't want it I'll take it oh this is nice nice this is this is real nice listen I think her alternators back up charging 14 volts so we can take off this sounds like the air conditioning may already be running for us that's awful nice good old school GM man the stuff that just worked you know what I mean yeah AC is nice and cold on this one check engine lights on the brake light is on it's probably got the e-brake set where is the uh where is the how do you release the e-brake right here there we go so yeah check engine light low fuel light other than that man this is a nice nice truck it's got a busted windshield right there let's put it in gear brakes feel good goes forwards goes backwards it's a shame it doesn't have a backup camera though I'm kind of spoiled by backup cameras needs a little console lid right here but I mean you got your cup holders and that air conditioning that's super nice it's not even all the way cold there we go important window and it's got tinted windows less important window man this this is great truthfully this is great you got your four wheel drive we'll put it in auto mode and see if it works yes four wheel High yes and two wheel drive there we go what more do you want man are you kidding me 775 bucks in the auctions tomorrow I might bid on this myself so I just talked to Monkey Wrench Mike and I said hey if you don't want this truck let me know I'll bid on it anyway I mean I don't need I don't need a truck right now I'm good and this would not I don't think this would work as my like main tow rig it's got no trailer brake I'd have to add a trailer brake to it and it's a nice truck I just I think I'm looking at something more like a 2500 um instead of an avalanche this is a good truck for like hauling occasionally not doing a whole lot of hauling so I think for Mike this is perfect but I got a hold of him and I said hey man I said If You're Gonna bail out on this truck or you don't want it let me know because I'll take it I really like this truck and he said he's the one actually that's the high bidder right now so good for you Mike um because I was about to jump on this thing it was 775 or whatever but now it is up to 11.25 and Monkey Wrench Mike is the high bidder he sent me a screenshot showing that he's the high bidder of this truck at one thousand one hundred and twenty five dollars I think this is a steal honest to God I would probably for me personally I would easily pay three grand I'd say three thousand three thousand thirty five hundred dollars for this truck would be a deal all day long we're talking four-wheel drive man this is a nice 4x4 truck and it sounds absolutely amazing the hail damage sucks but I mean this is about all the truck you'll ever need now this side is the side that took the the majority of the damage you got hail damage all down the side here probably doesn't come out all that good on camera but it's got a lot of hail damage but even so it's quiet it runs great cold air good tires I mean this is something it's a Turn and Burn man you could jump in this thing and just start working immediately I'll bet I'll bet it drives perfect I'll bet you money this thing drives absolutely perfect all right well that's that hopefully it starts back up let's turn this off I wish I knew how to turn off the silly underglows man if I did I'd turn those things off so we don't end up killing the battery again but it fired back up what more do you want next how about a Chevy Blazer I've seen so many mixed comments on these things and I'll be honest with you I've said it before and I'll say to you and I'm not I'm just not impressed with it I don't I don't I just don't think it looks like a Blazer at all the Blazers in my opinion were always really cool vehicles and this this isn't it reminds me of any other SUV on the road it it just it Blends in it's so Bland I mean that's not to say it's ugly I don't think it's an ugly vehicle I just don't think it should be called a Blazer it doesn't look like a Blazer at all I see no resemblance to the Chevy Blazer in this and I think most of the time these things have a little four-cylinder in a come on man the Blazer was such an oh wow what the hell emotional damage what what happened to this what I have no idea is it a theft okay this almost had to be a theft what is this I've been seeing these signs and a lot of things parts it just says oh it's a bag of parts okay what I was wondering why this is here listen here here's something I'll tell you about it that I like instead of being negative I'll try to be a little bit positive it's got good tires all the way around it's probably relatively new I like the color the paint I love this color it's a really high metallic bright vibrant blue I love the color the front end I like the angular look to it I do I think it's a it's a good looking SUV if you didn't call it a Blazer that's the only issue I have with it it's not a Chevy Blazer it's just not it looks like a a Traverse or any other number of cars that are out there today it just to me it just does not resemble a Chevy Blazer and that's really the only problem I have with it um not a bad looking vehicle overall I don't know what happened to this one this is this is unusual to say the least it's did somebody rip out the there must have been a placard something that went there what is going on with this I somebody there's your knee bolster airbag interesting does it have a there's your hood release like I said these things usually have four cylinders in them um and that's another you know come on it's got a V6 maybe I'd be interested in this just because I think it'd be fun to put it back together and find out what was wrong with it it's a 2019 oh they started taking things apart in here too this is a V6 it is the V6 it's not a crappy little four-cylinder yeah they've been taking stuff is taken apart there's a hose these are coolant hoses I believe well I don't know I don't know what these are these do look like coolant lines uh yeah here's your coolant bottle right here so one of these hoses is supposed to go here and the other one I couldn't tell you but it has to go nearby there's only so many places this can go right and it looks like this yeah I don't know so obviously it's got no coolant this has to be a theft has to be a theft it's got oil I'm gonna go ahead and try to start it I'm you guys are going to think I'm crazy oh hold on it may have juice I think it's got juice does this run it's only got 39 000 miles on it uh oh it doesn't seem to recognize the remotes nope neither one of them so it's not going to start well this is interesting so I mean somebody's just come through here and they've just torn everything up is what they did the screen does come on it looks like but we I bet we've got some stuff disconnected in here parking brake malfunction you've got all these whatever these probably headlight controls disconnected as well yeah it ain't gonna start it ain't gonna start but I'll bet it does I'll bet it runs and I'll bet it was a theft there's a box of parts in the back how much fun would this be to drag back to the house I'm gonna go ahead and disconnect that battery because they had it disconnected I was just hoping we could get it to uh to do something I'm gonna run a Carfax on this uh it's got the engine I want 2019 Blazer what's that I can't say I can't see if it says run and drive surely not it says no keys does not start no mileage 39 000 lost type other that's all it says lost type other guys this runs you will not convince me that we couldn't get this running we'll take that bag of Parts lay it all out on the shop floor and we could try to put this thing back together I don't know how much this is worth I don't know how much this goes for let me pull it up real quick so I can get a better idea and see if it's something I might be interested in so to my surprise this is a 30 000 SUV I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised but thirty thousand dollar SUV right now it's sitting at five grand of course non-runner lots of Parts disconnected this is this could be something guys that if we could win this get it back to the shop and get it running again we could actually turn a pretty good profit on this once it's running and driving I don't see any hail damage in fact it's got panoramic roofs this is a really nice trim of the Blazer this is a nice one for five grand and the auction is tomorrow um this is one I'm absolutely bidding on absolutely 100 this is no BS I think this is one we could bring back to the shop we may have to carry it down to General Motors or something or I may have to program some keys myself we'll figure it out I think this is one I think we could get this running how about a little Mercedes this is a C-Class a C300 I originally thought this was here for hail damage but maybe I'm wrong I don't see a single hail ding on this car at all so why is it here huh it's not a 4matic it's just a two-wheel drive variant this is interesting though it looks like it's got a new windshield it's got tape on both sides like somebody put a new windshield in but the whole windshield is cracked I mean the windshield is just shattered it's got good tires all the way around the body looks great and I think this is a run and drive see what I mean it's it looks like somebody just put a windshield on it but it's already busted I can't tell for sure but I think that says run and dry but that looks like it says it has no keys so I guess I guess we'll find out when we look inside the car let's start with the back seat I love that I love the little C Class these are good looking little cars oh yeah I like the seats golly even for a small Mercedes they're so nice it's got keys oh nice it's in Spanish so I have no idea what that says something about the battery or something about a key I don't know there's the key starts right up 65 000 miles on the odometer turn that air conditioning on how about that I don't know what that says either attention something something something something I have no idea close that glove box yeah I can't read any of that we'd have to get into the settings and change all that to English be able to understand what it's saying looks like the air conditioning is on full blast you got your dynamic sport oh yeah and it changes the uh the color Comfort economy and here's sport Sport Plus it's just a little turbo four-cylinder if I remember right this isn't like a it's not like a crazy fast car but it's really optimistic the speedometer goes to 160. I don't know you guys sell them the other I don't know about I don't know about that panoramic roof and yeah windshield is just absolutely shattered everywhere it's hard to see but the windshield is really really broken on this this is a nice interior honestly a really nice place to be when you're in it it doesn't feel like such a small car it actually feels relatively big heated seats I was hoping there was cool seats on there too but there's not yeah this is decent I want to pop the hood real quick what AC works amazing important window less important window yes let's go ahead and put it in here real quick and just see if it goes forward and backward forward yes brakes feel good backwards yep and park and how much gas has got it's got a three quarters of a tank of gas pellet four dollars a gallon that's a lot of gas let's see if we can pop This Hood take a look I'm interested in this one too I have really I have no clue why it's here the damn thing runs great I got a windshield placing throw a windshield in this for me so that's not a big deal what is a big deal though is not being able to open this uh this Hood there we go yeah a little turbo for turn like a kitten only 60 something thousand miles on the odometer it's pretty low miles really this is a this is a good one I just can't I can't understand why it's here it runs perfect listen to this little thing it sounds great and truthfully it looks good okay well I'm at a loss uh Bridgestone tires on the front Bridgestone on the back I mean it's got matching tires body looks great to me it just looks like it needs a windshield that's it I'm gonna go ahead and pull this up on the auction site real quick and let's find out how much this thing is going for so this is listed as a theft from Texas and here's what it's going for 6875 dollars I put it on the watch list um I'll have to do some more research and figure out what it's actually worth today with having a rebuilt title currently salvage title but obviously I'd rebuild the title on this I would have to find out what this is worth at seven thousand dollars if I had to pick between this and the Blazer I think the blazer for a couple of reasons number one the Blazer is better content for you guys it doesn't run at all it does not run and it's ripped into a million pieces so as far as content goes putting the Blazer back together and trying to get it running is more content than buying a Mercedes that already runs and drives like this is kind of a no-brainer you put a windshield on it you give it a bath and down the road the car goes um obviously I would drive it for a minute first I would absolutely drive this car for a little bit first nothing saying that I can't get both it just depends on how much both of these go for the auctions tomorrow just because it's at 6 800 now doesn't mean it's going to be at sixty eight hundred dollars tomorrow um I like the little car but if I have to pick between this or the Blazer I think I'm gonna pick the blazer because it's going to be more fun more of a challenge for me and more content for you and it's actually currently cheaper and probably worth more in the long run drop a comment below and tell me what you think the Blazer or the C300 now I've had a lot of you ask me to show more Lexus and Toyotas on the channel and I'm working at implementing that into the video for you guys it's not generally my type of cars but if it's your type of car I want to show it for sure so here I think this is 2001 RX 300 it's got hail damage it's got that very nice pearlescent white paint beautiful looks like somebody was towing with it I don't know what the towing capacity is on this but I can't imagine it would be a whole lot but it looks like it does Tow I can't wait to see the interior normally the driver's seat is all torn up not in this case at all this is actually really nice okay you know it does have some hail Dam you know what I was just thinking again every time I'm out looking around I'm always thinking that monkey wrench mic needs a tow rig well I know he's bidding on that truck but I'll bet he would uh we'll set that up up there I'll bet he would absolutely tow with Alexis I know he would I I know he would let's pop the hood I don't see any power smells funky in here not not in a bad way just smells smells something I don't know what that is it's different the windshield is cracked straight down the middle you guys probably can't see that but yeah straight down the middle that sucker's got a crack in it Let's uh see if we can pop This Hood oh boy a four cam 24 valve vvti three liter v6 oh yeah how bad is that timing belt to change I don't know I've never done one on one of these and I'm looking for a timing belt sticker I don't see one I do not see a timing belt sticker maybe they stuck it up here no they did not let me grab a jump pack let's throw it on there see what it does I'd be willing to bet it fires right up but that timing belt would scare me it needs tires probably needs other things too but 197 000 miles uh every time every freaking time man every time it never fails it's agree and it's not the booster pack man it's just it's getting a good connection on these things can be difficult there we go I told you it fire right up It's probably hard to see that dashboard hell I can't even hardly see the dashboard it doesn't seem to light up very well says it's low on gas let's turn on the air conditioning what do you think the chances are that it actually works cold this works though this is not is are you kidding me that's already ice cold oh immediately that's immediately ice cold wow I think that did faster than the Mercedes did so we got some lights on the Dasher I'm trying to cover the sun we've got low fuel traction off VSC brake light check engine light the brake light may be uh let's see if there we go brake light is off so traction VSC and check engine light see if it goes into gear there we go no backup camera but it goes backwards forward yeah not a problem important window works that window does not work it's not just broken down the middle either that's interesting it's got bubbles in it like maybe somebody tried to fix it but it's also broken over there too it's definitely got hail damage this looks like it's broken from the windshield like actually broken not just falling off but this looks looks like it's in pretty rough shape too it's oh oops it's a little rough guys cheerfully it is but you know could it be a good A to B car for a little while yeah I'll tell you right now I wouldn't trust the timing belt on this I wouldn't I you don't know when the last time it was done and I don't know how much it costs to do or how labor intensive it is to do if you do it yourself I'm just I'm I don't know man uh I hate timing belt Motors I just do I know some people love them but I I don't I prefer timing chains so this one even though I think it could be a decent vehicle I think I'm gonna pass on this here's a favorite a Honda Civic Coupe 2016 Civic with hail damage would you drive it if the price was right with the hail damage I would I would all day long already xl's got good tires windshield is busted the back window is missing in action that's all right though I mean that's just stuff you got to take into consideration when you're thinking about purchasing it like you put a windshield on it you put a back window in it assuming that it runs and drives like it's supposed to this car is still worth money it's still very economical it'll get you great gas mileage it'll be very reliable and people love these Civics it's still worth something we got a lot of stickers on the back Pikes Peak Colorado a run to remember Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon New Mexico we've got balloons New Mexico I don't know what that fox is but whatever that is Kennedy ish bin ear Berliner I I don't know somebody will have to explain that all I know is that's that's Kennedy I think that's Kennedy unless that's a big beard if that's a beard that's not Kennedy I know I should probably know who that is what is it Mr Rogers and King Friday the 13th are you kidding me I love Mr Rogers when I was a kid another Oklahoma Grand Canyon National Park I'm thinking this thing has been uh this thing's been around this thing has been around so it's probably got some miles on it and I don't see the miles listed so we'll just have to check it out for ourselves probably a dead battery they've always got dead batteries just seems to be the way it is interior is uh you know it's dirty but I love the color this is a nice color scheme I really I like this I don't think I've ever seen this in a in a Honda before very nice you got some broken glass all over the back seats you'll have to uh obviously address that sounds like it's got power though almost like it's inviting us it's an automatic fired right up of course it did of course it did and it probably has ice cold air conditioning everything works oh it's only got 62 610 miles wow I wonder what the fuel economy is on this can we uh how do we go through the does it have a fuel economy meter range average fuel economy 30.2 30.2 that's that's pretty impressive that's not bad at all it's about due for an oil change you gotta you know you got your nice little radio here it's weird that uh is this the whole armrest all right what is what is going on down there strange couple oh there's your cup holders and then under the cup holders is for a bigger cup like a big big gulp and then this extends okay I get it I I guess yeah and then that opens up what it what an interesting little car it says the AC is on I'll be honest with you guys I'm not uh I'm not feeling any air conditioning let's try it again AC on low yeah we'll see but for right now that doesn't that's not cold in the slightest all right let's see what kind of media we have USB Bluetooth and do we have XM FM FM AM no no why does it seem like nothing comes with XM like when it comes to uh you know like Hondas and Toyotas it's it's like XM isn't even an option for for you in these cars you do have a backup camera though that was the E-brake on I guess it is I don't even know where the e-brake is electronic parking brake there we go backward yep forward yeah man it runs like a top that air conditioning though there is none which is very odd 62 000 miles of the AC doesn't work that's uh that's a little concerning honestly it almost makes me worry um important window works less important window works let's pop the hood let's see what's going on under there yeah 60 000 miles and the air conditioning doesn't work that's that's bizarre well the cooling fan is on isn't it yeah the cooling fan is on AC is not working though I mean it runs great who knows what's wrong with the air conditioning hopefully nothing serious I see the compressor down there but I can't see if it's running or not I mean needs a good bath a couple windows some attention to the air conditioning and then well good detail on the interior too interior really needs a solid detail but I know somebody that can handle that that's weird man it gets all the way cold and it's just not doing anything and it sounds like it's on you can kind of hear it shut off it's just not cold engine sounds healthy it fired right up without a uh without a jump start too I don't know guys um yeah you know what I'm gonna pass on this one too I like it I I do I just yeah I don't think I'm gonna mess with this one so moving on and with that ladies and gentlemen I think we're going to call it a day so the two cars of this video that I'm most interested in the Blazer and the Mercedes I'm leaning towards the Blazer but I want to know what you guys
