I Entered the Bristol Dirt Nationals and I've Never Ever Driven a Dirt Car...

hell yeah brother you're on the please before on YouTube channel all right ladies and gentlemen we got a real mix of content coming at you straight from Texas from tx2k we are at Bristol Motor Speedway Bristol baby and check this out I'm here with Maddie and I'm about to be ripping this old Cutlass dirt car right here so let's go talk to these guys we got the Bennett and Ramsey race teams put this together for me so I can come out and race dirt for my first time we're at Bristol dirt and I'm gonna try this out what's up man how you doing good how are you what's going on dude I know you uh you own the engine in this car right engine transmission Drive Line basically and Saul you know on the car yep that's the deal all right so I gotta make sure I keep you guys Happy tell me a little bit about this thing 350 crate engine yep 602 um the respect GM motor yeah two barrel Rochester we got to run those short tubes two-speed paraglide oh it's got a power glide in it oh yeah and you guys move the seat down for me I see that real nice here to do that Driveline drive shaft Dynamic Driveline gears okay yeah I see them right there they set up the gears for us and stuff yep please set them all up for us and got them all ready and well it's been a challenge but yeah you guys like slap this together right yeah we had about two weeks to put this car together from the frame basically so so that I have never raced dirt in my life I've raced some on dirt but I've never done anything like this before and better to start at Bristol in anywhere right when you get out on the road don't use your brakes because you don't have any oh really it's not a big brakes thing as well they are but they just don't have them okay you just go in there it's not real Great Bridge I mean I mean it kind of looks like you guys are drifting out there a lot yeah so I know how to do that I mean I feel like we got this and uh you guys all have your own cars too so we're in the hobby stock class correct are we all racing together yeah yeah oh that's gonna be great it's all gonna be fun so all right so practice today yep we got a couple hours this guy over here we got to get some we gotta get some media on his car over there see that add me on dude that thing looks that thing looks too too clean what he's looking for yeah what's he got oh position available [Laughter] so we just had a bunch of uh we had our first like real Circle Track race at the freedom Factory and I had never done a true Circle Track race that's what I did and the guys who came like I had so much fun hanging out with them and I can already tell I'm gonna like hanging out with you guys so hey you guys tell me what I'm doing wrong and I'll try and fix it and I just want to learn and it's just like Dave's Thunder bud you just gotta come in you got to tell us whether you're tight or loose you want me to hit the face card I'll do it yeah hell yeah all right so guys if you want to come out to Bristol dirt basically I got practice today and then we qualify tomorrow Tuesday okay so the big race is Friday but I think I got to qualify Tuesdays pretty much good okay all right so we got to make the main race dude the rap came out beautiful 1776. we got some logos we got the freedom Factory on here well it's been fun putting vinyl on them all right there you go race xr.com I guess I'm gonna go check out the inside quality and they move the seat for me thank God that would have been real bad golly place legendary 2 000 employees here oh holy cow oh my God [Music] that is nuts damn we're gonna be drifting oh look at that the dirt is uh like super deep too man [Music] I know this is right up my alley hey boy ourselves though nice nice fire me up it's like we're lining up over there let's go it feels nice and loose loose is fast so these are uh more modified I think I know these are modified I don't know but honestly I'm learning a lot today these are hobby stocks all over here we got modified those might be stock cars I don't even know a lot of a lot of classes all right here we go oh God hey look at this place talk about bleachers for days [Music] oh foreign [Music] avoid oh it's a good sign that your race car wants to turn left on its own so yeah John Deere nice enough [Music] oh my God it's very exciting stuff those things are done done I didn't think Tennessee I don't know yeah there it is crazy I guess in some spots it's five or six feet deep that's some thick stuff look at that boys thick stuff that's where we all drove in on it packed it in it's crazy that like real Tech Guy well it like flicks off yeah it was bare over here before they started that's actually dirt this is really compact dirt really it's not yeah it's not the asphalt the shiny stuff is a super compact it's like the groove pretty killer lighting system look at how well it the track itself is from these exterior lights nothing from the center but they got this stuff dialed look at this I just found holy toledo that's like 10 grand of fire extinguishers at least too oh boy here we go I just want to put on record that a lot of people you know on their first time doing this they're going on track by themselves we going out with about 20 cars so that's good you know it's always good to really Dive In [Music] I want to get my first crash out of the way there's a look at Cletus McFarland's 1776 you see the freedom Factory logo there on the bottom uh we are so very very excited to have Cletus on board with us he's a pavement boy but he told me up here in the Press Box earlier he said you know this just looks like drifting and I've been doing that for a long time I I asked him I said you got any apprehension are you anxious at all he said no not really like I'm just out here to have a good time and and hang out with my friends and and race here at Bristol and I love his enthusiasm I love his his excitement like he is just pumped to be here and we're very very happy to have him on board with us this week too [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] complete not he he's not shying away from the loud pedal that's for sure clevis McFarland holding it down there through three and four a good good run you can see the he's got it set up really really nicely working with a great crew that uh has helped him set up that race car the wheels counter steer just enough maintaining that slide he's not afraid of it at all man I'm very excited to see this and that's one great deal about plate is that he has that kind of asphalt experience and you're going to need that one on the track that's very high speeds yes you have you can't just kick the back end out like you would on something smaller a little bit slower straight is fast on these big high-speed racetracks and he's keeping the car very very straight a little bit sideways there just to say that coming into that second set of corners but I mean really got a nice line going [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] thank you [Applause] [Music] is good I need some more gear though I'm running out of rear gear up on the chip about halfway down the street [Music] good the fan hit the Shroud a little bit yeah I can hear that I just started figuring it out and I know you look good it's just like I was going too slow at first you have to go in full speed or you just drive down so I'm like the last lap I started like that last five [Music] go back out so bad right now that was pretty slow dude I just started to realize how fast has been made starting to have some balls and actually go boys we got our practices she's running good the problem is it's getting up on the chip real early we got a 5.0 final drive in this thing four gears so I think we're gonna go down like a 476 or something tomorrow but I got my practice in feeling good it's like drifting and asphalt Mobile Track Racing all in one I thought it's going to be crazy passing people doing that so really glad I got the wheel time but we got qualifying tomorrow so I think we're calling it for the night [Music] foreign [Music]
