I Don't Know What To Think About This One

hey there viewers welcome back to the self main all Channel got the 2011 Cadillac CTS 4 it's got the big 30 apparently the guy said he put CV axles in or he had a buddy do it put CV axles in it and since then ever since you he told his buddy no turn signals uh you can't control the headlights they're just on keys on headlights are on no high beams um so it seems like nothing on that headlight switch works so headlights turn signals I did notice that like the fourways don't work um I noticed ABS traction control lights are on he didn't mention anything about that and I also noticed that the windshield wipers don't work correctly every position is just high and he didn't mention anything about that so I don't know if it's all related or not um some of these systems have a default strategy something goes wrong and the headlights are just always on can't control them no high beams but they're on and sometimes with wiper systems like that too if electronically they Ma function you just have high high or off that's it they don't park they're real weird um don't know if that's related but we were asked to look at the turn signals and the headlights oh and it also doesn't come out of park you got to kind of Yank on it so that may be related too up though you're 5 minutes late you know five yeah two not not according to my clock mine is internet real time oh I see2 right now we're just key on engine off but you can see no no turning signals I did notice also no fourways when it push the button like I say he didn't say anything about any of this other stuff but like the wipers that's the only speed you get no matter where you've select them and then they Park wherever but like I said he didn't mention that it's just kind of some stuff I've observed uh I've got this SC tool here we just plug that little guy in hit okay on that the uh turn signals I know on a General Motors and one the sold are controlled by the body module so I'm going to let it scan see if there's any big clues that jump out and make sure that we can talk to the BCM I assume that we can I'll give this a minute to do its thing all right so here's where we ended up 19 codes looks like we can talk to this BCM I don't know what the bcma a is right off hand we'll just go to report we'll skip that we'll see what we have for codes cruise control multifunction switch all right well the cruise uh is right there on the steering wheel the left side of the steering wheel interesting speaking of Hot Stuff what's up um there's a gentleman on the phone okay and he was here last night picking up his um Tahoe oh okay he needs to talk to me he said what does he need to talk to me no he says that he's got something hanging down from his Nissan Rogue that he noticed when he was driving behind his wife yesterday when he left he want to know if he can stop by real quick cuz they're going on a trip right now that guy yes all right we'll do what we got to do mosquito are out yeah uh let's see here that the T key where were we up downshift switch circuit interesting left re wheel speed signal okay that's why the ABS lights on yeah it's an the ABS unit body control module device voltage reference output one circuit voltage this ignition failed this ignition failed device voltage reference output five circuit low voltage this ignition pass hand failed inter device dedicated bus loss communication with Device one I don't even know what that means keyless transmitter low this is in the seat module we don't really care about that pass pass pass okay that's from having the battery unhooked history codes history all right so we have a lot of history codes in here but we have some here in the body module [Music] these ones here this output one circuit low voltage and output five circuit low voltage I don't know what it means but it's current the SLO to come with a communication with Device number one all right so this gives us something to look at this ignition failed and pass mail requested so that like I say this is why the ABS light times have nothing really do with it all right I'm going to save this initial data and um uh I guess we can just we'll put in something here under the plate plate number caddy we'll save that I'm going to do a code clear on [Music] it once's this inspection due okay not till December I just didn't want to clear these history codes out of the ECM and screw them out of a u inspection so I'll let this clear we'll reread it I imagine our codes are going to be back in the body module and then we'll go from there while I was waiting here I turned on the radio yeah indeed there is no volume controls no cruise on off doesn't appear that any of these buttons toggle anything so something to think about again not a customer complaint customer wants turn signals and high beams fixed I selected some data out of the body module flash to pass Hazard lamp headlight switch high beam turn signal switches and no matter what I do the activity here never changes you know flash to pass left turn right turn push the hazard switch uh everything remains inactive so that's interesting something good to know I don't know if in special functions if we can control it to make sure the body module has control we can poke along here there we go left oh that's left rear uh let's see we're back out of there let's just see if uh we'll do left front so we can see it up there in our toolbox we turned it [Music] on oh maybe it doesn't flash it just lights up bright let's see here I think I just saw it yep you can see the reflection in the toolbox up there turn it back off turn it back on so that tells us that the body module has the ability to turn it on almost as if it's missing the input so let's find a wire diagram and see what you know is a single ground these all grounds side switched inputs it wouldn't you know wouldn't surprise me if it was but let's find out we helped our customer with the Nissan and I was looking this up when he showed up so here's our turn signal switch and indeed it is all groundside switch so the ground here left kick panel g200 goes to this Junction goes in a switch and the ground side is the switch for the headlights and for the turn signal so that's very interesting g200 now how about how about the hazard switch where does that little guy live let's see if there's anything see if there's anything in common [Applause] there I'm on a brake light now let me poke around here and find it didn't have to look for it was on the first diagram Hazard switch uh totally different ground left left rear shock Tower so that's kind of weird huh g402 I wonder this is not a factory diagram so I would be curious to know if these you know I doubt these wires run straight from the switch with no connector I mean it shows one connector here x22 I'm going to look on a factory diagram because I find it kind of peculiar that the hazards do not work and the turns do not work two different Ground locations all right so we know a little something I find it pretty bizarre now we do have we do have those codes in there and I'm wondering if before we get too far if we should oops I guess I was in the BCM if we should uh check out that Avenue got some weird stuff going on over there enhance enhance it's Auto enhancing at the trouble codes hey dude device reference output one I might look into these output one output five that seems to be an output problem I just wonder if it might be worth just just poking into that real quick that 13395 this 1529 see what the definitions are on those to see if it has anything to do with what we're uh what we're tracking down if not we're going to come up with a different plan give you the brief rundown the b529 says here body module supplies voltage to the audio steering wheel control switches which are these up here which we noticed uh you know we observed that these didn't work so the body module sends them sends them power uh and then monitors the return signal each switch state is is associated to a set resistance value when pressed a specific voltage drop across resistor uh unique to the switch BCM identifies a switch selection and activates that feature so it's basically multiplexing it sends power to this each each switch you press is essentially a dis a different resistance value and sends that voltage value back to the body module and then it interprets you know uh you know 3.2 volts is volume up you know 2.8 is volume down or or whatever it it it basically makes it so you can use a bunch of switches uh and only just a couple wires so yeah it's pretty common uh you know they call it multiplexing uh conditions to set this code 15293 which is what we have 15293 uh BCM detects a short to ground in The Battery Plus voltage reference circuit greater than 30 seconds and then when this happens the BCM will ignore switched inputs um so there's that that's one one thing that we were looking at okay and then let's type in our other code whatever that was that was a 13953 so we're going to go uh a b 1395 1395 we'll see what this one says 1395 device voltage reference output one below threshold short to ground open high oh oh BCM one fuse B+ oh that's interesting we just dealing with a blown fuse here uh dimer switch increase decrease brightness BCM control modit provides a low reference signal and B+ the IP dimmer Place desire position yada yada conditions for setting short to ground in the dimmer switch voltage reference circuit or the bcm1 fuse okay I think we should check I guess we can check we'll check let's check that bcm1 fuse here quick like a little bunny and see if that's causing all of our issues and if not then we're going to go back to our original plan it says underhood fuse box bcm1 oh it's already loose already a fuse puller hanging out uh-oh uh-oh this guy's going to need his glasses I got my glasses but none of these are labeled they're just numbers so I pulled it up here so we've got fan speed relay so that must be be that relay there right we got this going the right direction yep display BCM 6 bcm1 so one two 3 what the world 1 two 3 you trying to play games with me bcm1 right display BCM you mother lovers somebody playing tricks on me oh this is weird uh see if that any good it this 10 little Pro hey we got a turn signal FL we got fourways flashing and then I see this one's Mission too wsw pump is that windshield washer pump I grabbed the 10 amp for that so that's between the 15 the 10 and the 10 oops what about the rest of these let's see one two brake vacuum pump those that's a spare spare that one's something for navigation or na they got some something going on here all son that's what I thought maybe well it was missing a fuse missing yeah oh suspish hey K Kitty come herea come on maybe we need to get the car CAT scan see what she thinks anyhow what's up I was coming to event oh you going to r as they call it on the internet yeah sassy you got your high pony going on oh my gosh you're so pretty say it you're so funny so funny you're perfect Mrs over ranting and leaving this is super sus all right shut off our fourways that's our Shi in can you pull it in for me please appreciate you I don't know folks this seems pretty sus why I mean everything obviously it's got a high beam out why why would this happen people are like oh maybe they're setting up I don't think so this is a young kid who owns this thing and um I think that's his last $4 uh I don't think that's true but he doesn't seem to be the type that would do this just for a haha funny like I say just a young boy um I'll have to ask him I mean I think what he's telling me is true here's some Car Quest boxes with a CV axles in it they got the little skid plate off there you know I uh why I don't know um what would they have pulled that fuse out for I guess I'll have to call him and ask him he said his buddy or his cousin or somebody was you know helping him do the CV axles or did it for him and then that's when this problem started super sus oh man oh he get all smoked up man let's see we put the fuse puller back left the fuses in that installed oh oh it must be it's broke you no broke broke yeah she broke broke right yeah down all the way our button lights up now the light up button so that works I wonder if this stuff works oh look at that that works wow amazing amazing what a little fuse will do we are going to look in the ebcm OR ABS going take it for a little rip here cuz this had a code I think for ER rtic wheel speed or something and we don't even really have to go very far with this back up left rear wheel is not working all right so we have no left rear wheel speed signal you know what let me go a little bit faster just in case it's something else but we're going to set a coat as soon as we hit about 15 MP as I imagine typical Chevrolet fashion what a beautiful day 75 and Sunny we got to work on that shivy next set 2019 I guess that think the real Basket Case every lights on drives down the road loses power steering almost wrecks the truck scared to drive it at this point he says Whoa sugar I got to get out me where'd you go you little bastard that's saw you flying here Dusty allergic to these things it's a big fat wasp I saw it hit and come in the car oh got the classic wheel bearing gas pedal I got a carry SP gas pedal I saw you you little sucker okay let's try this round two maybe I just heard a whoosh pretty sure it's a big old wasp oh oh tra controls flashing oh still flashing come on just set a code no it still thinks we slipping oh plus the steering wheel what the world must be them they must have been playing with some front end parts huh yeah I got the pedal to the plastic uhoh uhoh come on freaking piece of so yeah without that wheel it thinks that we're spinning there we go and We're Off to the Races now boys she finally gave up we got to wait for it to set a code how can it not be flagging a code yet come on car you don't even see wheel speed signal oh here we go we're stopping again mon cars are so it's stupid all right pull into the DG we got a lady up on our like a wedgie in the back here there she goes hey there we go we finally set a code all right now we can drive like normal people all right so he's got something going on that's probably why he's got the wheel bearing in the back is going to be my guess let's go back to the shop plus he's going to need a wheel alignment I can't believe this thing's not throwing steering angle sensor steering wheels about eighth of a turn to the right going straight more dingers going off change engine oil fuel level low that's your typical tiet to the shop Shenanigans well you got drivability problem that me make sure it's out of gas this looks like I think the things use the same bearing front and back magnetic tone ring on the back very prone in the prny for that tone ring to pop off gets a little rust underneath it and off it goes and then usually end up with a situation like this here classic no wheel speed type business um or you know bad sensor broken wire uh lots of stuff let's see what Cod it through I guess what we're right here here before we close this video out left rear wheel speed sensor circuit signal amplitude less than minimum well no kidding uh AKA no wheel speed signal your classic c45 18 um that's it so it's missing rear wheel speed signal obviously I'm going to check with this young man to find out what uh the dealio is we'll make sure the finance are there before we uh go any further see if he you know wants that out like I say when he initially made the appointment it was turning signals headlights only obviously all this other stuff is working out because it's all related but really suspect as far as what happens one of his buddies screwing with him if it is he should go thump on that guy a little bit because it just cost him some money not much but some couple fuses and an hour of my time and then I'll see what he wants to do if he wants me to dig in this wheel bearing anyhow we've done videos like this before where cars have come in with missing fuses I did one on a Genesis once which came in with more than what it's supposed to have somebody put a fuse in a blank spot on a fuse box I remember that car kicked my HOA uh made a battery draw and then I just saw that little sucker again I saw the I heard him going come in try to sting me we'll get some live Epic pen action um that's it too many distractions we got to go you go in that comment section questions comments
