I Ditched Everyone and Went Thrifting at Goodwill Alone | Thrift With Me | Reselling

oh we didn't actually do this funny oh my god I got like the worst cart in the whole place my family calls it my superpower it's my ability to see value in things that other people might overlook sometimes they go picking with my boyfriend sometimes it's my best friend Sue and sometimes it's my kids but at the end of the day it's all about having fun and hopefully it just maybe making a profit okay well we are actually solo today andrew is in West Virginia at the Boy Scout world Jamboree and Sue is at Sue's house and we are all by our lonesome we're about to head into this goodwill this is the goodwill that we crossed off of our list but the last time we were here we found that amazing West Germany vase who was it was actually donated by my friend Tanya who I just had lunch with she's like you know I donated that vase right I was like what this is like I donated that nothing no way so I just had lunch with her and it inspired me to come back and hopefully have another amazing day we're gonna head in here hopefully last time was not a fluke I'm hoping to find some stuff that I can resale for a profit so we're gonna head in there we're gonna see what we can find we're gonna check everything over for cracks and chips and we're gonna be extra good about it because no one's here to do it for us so here we go let's see what we can find we're actually being super optimistic today because of all the cards we got the real court not the tiny cart good vibes all right so as soon as we walk in the door the first thing I noticed was the lamps I wasn't gonna start with the lamps but I noticed the lamps first and I of course these lamps these are amazing but unfortunately I think they've actually been painted you can see the teacup here there are $3 apiece I think I'm gonna grab oh my gosh why do I keep buying lamps and not selling them this is not a good thing I need to like get some serious lamp boxes oh that one just needs to be polished it's not too bad thank you thanks so I'm not really seeing any other lamps here except for this dude check this out maybe not why didn't you get him the reason I'm not getting him is he's creepy a little bit a little creepy but I'm not seeing any other lamps to here that really catches my eye so umm oh my gosh except for this that's a little different it's obviously modern it would have held a doll right here that's kind of cool but let's go check out some other stuff apparently goodwill was also the daycare today um alright let's see I usually check the baskets just to make sure that I don't see anything that's old I'm not really an expert on baskets but I see something old I usually grab it I'm not really seeing anything that's catching my eye but I also like big baskets I usually keep those for myself but alright let's go this way there's kind of a sunlamp and obviously it's modern but it's a fun nursing lab we're gonna leave that one here yeah that's not really my stuff oh my gosh I almost missed that because I was looking at my camera and not you know what I'm gonna buy this for myself I'm not buying that for resale dad I'm getting for myself what is this thing I just happen to notice this thing over here and I have to investigate it no it's a horse okay never mind let's go this way all right um trying not to make you guys dizzy well not moving slow at the same time it's a very difficult thing to do I'm trying to master it all right so this style is usually pretty boring there's not usually a whole lot in this aisle does this ring make me look engaged it makes you look like a mug actually I'm not seeing a whole lot here oh my gosh look at this what is wrong with your hand why is it that color well because you're Holland mold that's why all right not seeing much in this aisle a Stein some fun geese this looks like Italy maybe not [Music] no this is something I would pick up for me for my relic displays not even for resale I think we're shopping for me today because that's a relic display this looks like something I should bring home for Andrew for four dollars because it's got an eagle on it obviously so that's coming home for Andrew I'm not really finding anything in the way of resale though I mean these are the pieces I wouldn't even look at if it wasn't for me alright so I think this is everything I think it was a fluke the last time I don't think we're gonna find anything with the exception of stuff that we're buying for ourselves let's go someplace else alright well that was a complete and total letdown I think that may be our last visit there where we got the vase was just a fluke I don't think that they really started putting good house stuff out again so it's back off the list we're not going back we're gonna go check out some of the other local thrift stores that we have better luck at but again Hanover is just my favorite place to go it's a little too far to go today so we're stuck locally we're gonna make the best of it let's go see what we can find I don't fully find the good stuff here we go okay we are at the next goodwill and on the whole way over here I was thinking to myself what went wrong at the first goodwill and I realized that maybe we were just a little too overly optimistic by getting the big cart so we're gonna get a smaller cart this time and not be as optimistic and hopefully come out ahead this time so we're gonna head into this good well we usually have pretty good luck here we're gonna head in here maybe find something that we can resell because at the last place it was just like a constant like oh well I'm keeping this for me I'm keeping this for me I'm keeping this for me so this time we're going to turn something for profit I'm sure of it let's head in let's see what we can find and that's turn it for a profit here we go alright I think we picked possibly the most reject cart of the lot I think this is setting the tone for the entire trip and also the entire store is full of Mennonite people and I feel a little bit bad filming so I'm gonna film a little bit strange oh look at blend Oh with a D and not Blanco I just a clarify for all of you so that you know what I'm talking about it's not worth much but I'm saying blend oh and not Blanco so that you know what I'm saying well this is kind of fun it's modern gift the gallery alright we're off to a rough start hmmm we've got the wonky cart and we are picking up modern stuff ok let's turn this around so what we can do alright um we're not gonna turn this around in this aisle cuz its aisle is kind of just not a very good aisle to turn it around then alright cart B why it looks like you've been hit by a car I think all right so I'm just grabbing this little ballerina the lease is in really good condition it is not Dresden lace it's made to look dress and lace it's probably Japan it's not marked probably had a sticker it's probably the sticker residue right there but it is like a little ballerina dancer so I like it I like that it's in good condition I did look it over very closely because nobody's here to look it over for me and I'm doing my own work we're gonna grab it put it in the cart a dollar so we're doing pretty good we've got one item all by her lonesome I'll just set it right here keep going I just really wanted to point out but this is still here this has been here for like months and months and lives I'm surprised that hasn't made it to the bins yet this I did pick this up I like the lines of it I can't really read the bottom I really can't I was gonna try and I'm like no I'm just not even gonna try that can't read the bottom but I really like the lines of it it's a very thin ceramic it's not happy like most of this room I say pick up but I like the lines so we're gonna grab that we're gonna see what else I can find over here this is kind of cute but it's not really my thing everybody's gonna be like why didn't you grab that I can't grab everything it's hard but I can't my mom used to have this this you see I grew up with this and you wonder what my love of photograph comes from now this I do like this this is a cute little thing and I liked it date in there do you see that date 1947 it's China but 1947 take the little 1947 trinket box and let's see are we seeing anything else over here all righty went through here once this is why I go through here multiple times because the first time I went through hair I totally missed that 1947 trinket box I got it the second time but my gosh this thing is like terrifying like downright terrifying okay um Stu the next aisle oh we didn't actually do this one oh my god I got like the worst cart in the whole place all right I'll actually seems a little promising the first thing I spotted when we got in this aisle was this enormous thing and when I see enormous look at my look at my reflection like that's real shiny I love shiny things and it weighs a ton so if you roll expensive to ship if I sell it but its quality its genomic it's heavy it's not marked but very Hollywood Regency I like that about it and just browsing through here I'm with my wonky cart like these you're kind of a fun design oh I see what are you heatproof you fire King tend to say oh my gosh $1 for a Tennessee mug I think I have to do like I didn't know how much I feel about that girl how I feel about that graphic but I feel like I have to get this somebody's gonna want this woodpecker that's hand-painted so for two dollars we're gonna grab that ah see we're in the right aisle now this is where everything's at all right let's see here my gosh that squeaky squeak I can't handle it I might have to go change carts all right I'm not gonna push the cart I'm just gonna leave it there until I see what else I want to get I'm gonna leave it here abandoned cart so to speak oh look we've got more of these glasses we just recently sold a picture set with those glasses milk glass luster we're more of moms old bolts bolts graph stuff all right let's check out this side sometimes they've noticed this goodwill stuff is hidden behind other stuff so you kind of have to rearrange the shelves to find stuff yeah it's too light I don't like the feel of that the weight is wrong on that until it's not very good quality all right this weight is fun it's a collector's plate uh yeah okay all right so maybe we spoke too soon fluoro frog all right I'm gonna teapot all right I think that's it we went through the entire aisle and now all we've got left is green and blue one aisle left will we find anything that's the question I've got to push our wonky cart over there and then just leave it right here hopefully nobody steals anything out of it or steals the cart I don't know why they'd want to steal my cart look at like ten feet and be like what is wrong with this cart right so I'm seeing a lot of modern stuff this is kind of nice but unfortunately these don't really sell this I've never had any luck with them we've got a nursery planter this is a modern one you can actually see the sticker on them I normally pass these up you guys saw me pick up the ice-cream train one that was the exception and that was because it had ice cream on it I normally pass them out because they don't usually fetch too much hmm all right nothing much in blue we're gonna turn to the green now this looks like it could be Hagar that's a nice ceramic piece I kind of like that I think I'm gonna grab this for four bucks hmm Steve forgets about anything else there's a giant turkey platter down but I don't really see anything else I think this is it I think that's it I think it's everything we're gonna get today let's just check the black aisle people are in a hurry okay look actually kind of a cute little oil lamp I don't normally pick up milk glass or little oil lamps but I kinda like that painted and for two dollars we're gonna grow back [Music] one of those things oh gosh alright I think that's it let's go check purses all right well I'll descend the music stopped and I was like finally the music stopped it was like beautiful peaceful quiet and then the music started again and it was super loud stuff this is everything that we got today here at this goodwill not a whole lot more than we got at the last place as far as resale goes I got a mug a couple things I'm really pleased with this if not for nothing else then for the date and on the inside 1947 it's just nice rats in there and I'm not really sure why you know it might not even be that it's from 1947 but I thought that was an interesting an interesting little history so this is what we got we're actually gonna head over cos the streets the community gate at mechanicsburg community 8 I don't usually have good luck over there but we're gonna hit it just to get this across the street see what we can get maybe we'll get something out of it aren't you gonna set our expectations super high because you know we never really have much luck but forget to Like
