I Discovered My BIGGEST AMMONITE FOSSIL (So Far!)

there's the start of it way up here that may be the end of it I believe the beginning is going to be over here so so far this is looking like a complete ammonite if we get this out guys this could be a museum piece wow this thing's massive so far it's looking like a complete ammonite lots of mud covering it up so it's hard to see but right there you can see some detail oh my gosh look at this ammonite I can barely hold it up wow that's at least 40 pounds all right we just started this adventure here at ammonite Creek and you will not believe this piece of an ammonite I just discovered laying here on the surface check out these crystals let's get it in the sun look at that all types of minerals have formed onto this ammonite you know it's been sitting out here for thousands if not millions of years and right there we've got some mineralization growing oh this is so cool we can get this video up to 500 likes within five days of being uploaded I will just give this one away to one of you that leaves a comment and subscribes to my channel been walking around and I've noticed something right here that caught my attention I have to keep this wow it's really heavy almost some there's the start of it way up here I believe I don't know it's still going wow man yeah that's not the beginning it's still going up in this dirt that may be the end of it I believe the beginning is going to be over here so so far this is looking like a complete ammonite hope we can get this out guys this could be a museum piece perfect one I've been looking for now for a while it's been several trips since I found one out here today's the day [Applause] wow this thing's massive [Music] so far it's looking like a complete ammonite lots of mud covering it up so it's hard to see but right there you can see some detail and it goes all the way up looking like it's spiraling in here's the beginning of it over here and it just goes way up in them and it just seems to keep going up in the mud telling me that it could be a complete ammonite oh it's starting to lose it's uh spiral right there as it's coming in so it may be chewed up on that side I'm going to continue to keep working it out of this mud and we'll find out for sure check this out guys so I've been working on it and it turns out to be a complete ammonite with maybe some trace fossils attached to it right there look at that this is incredible I've almost got it freed up as you can see there's detail on both sides incredible detail all right here's the start of it I need to work on this right here a little bit more get all this mud out of here and I believe this ammonite will be ready to free out of the mud this has been sitting in this spot for a very long time millions of years ago this creature died been sitting here ever since more water on it yeah you can see the detail it's incredible yes huh this may be my largest ammonite of this type with the spikes not the nodulous but this type there's so many types of ammonites and I'm not sure what size but this is definitely getting to my record my personal record right here okay it doesn't need much more time's ticking day is almost over I gotta get out of here and get back to the truck oh man it's really attached right there I'm going to get the hammer drill foreign [Music] all right guys okay here it goes I'm nervous I don't want the break oh it's so heavy oh my gosh does the imprint look pretty cool on that side oh my gosh this is my record one whoa oh my gosh look at this ammonite I can barely hold it up wow that's at least 40 pounds maybe a 50 pound ammonite oh my gosh check out this detail I can barely hold this up guys it's at least 50 pounds covered at ammonite Creek this is a museum piece it's got a trace fossil all types of other fossils let's get this cleaned up and take a look at it with the better camera wow foreign that I've been waiting for I don't know about you guys I'm ready to see what this ammonite is going to weigh let's get it on the scale looks like it's around 29 pounds nearly a 30 pound ammonite has a trace fossil right there and other types of fossils embedded this one right here look at this little bitty shell wow Texas ammonites looks like we have another fossil right there museum piece for sure and here is the other side of the ammonite you can see there's quite a bit of mud but this mud can be easily removed but then you get over here and this mud is like the concrete so it may prep out nicely it may not so there's the other side definitely a complete ammonite looks like we do have a couple chips but it's still complete I still call that a complete ammonite let's take a quick look at the other ammonite that I saved this one has the minerals growing right there not quite sure what this mineral would be if you know what this mineral could be let me know in the comments or just getting some measurements nice oh my gosh that is perfect are you kidding me is it really that long this ammonite is around 15 and a half inches wide and what I do is to get this measurement is I put the ruler at the very end thank you and then I worked this end side to side you see it gets less and it'll work the ruler down this is the widest point right here and it's around 15 and a quarter but if you bring it down it gets less so that's my widest point is right in here 19 inches all of a sudden wow for those of you that don't really know how to measure a ammonite with that's what I call the width the thickness would be this way so what you do you just put the ruler at one end and then watch this other end until he gets to the Max point well that's all the time we have for this adventure here at ammonite Creek I found a really large ammonite that was quite an experience it's always
