I Didn't Expect My PSA Cards to Come Back Like This!

as many of you may know my first psa submission did not go exactly according to plan seven are you kidding me how in the world are you at seven what are you looking at what what am i seeing a seven i mean like an eight is bad a seven a seven well just before heading to the national i got my second psa submission back these were 137 cards i bought last summer and then submitted around fall time but the big questions are did i actually learn from my mistakes from the first submission and secondly can these 137 graded cards help bail me out of almost four months of little to no sales from a pretty flat market i guess we'll have to find out together so grab your popcorn and y'all already know the drill welcome back now let's get to work all right guys let's see what we got i have no idea what cards these are because it has been like 10 months since i've submitted these this was labeled box number one and let's just turn these things over and hide them from y'all okay all right now it's starting to ring a bell first-year select steph curry i have no idea what to expect eight or above i should be fine on in terms of uh getting my money back but i really want some nines and tens first one all right nine i'll take it i'll take a nine i'll take a nine good looking card first your select select high life one of my favorites second one let's see here looks good to me and nine okay all right all right see as you might notice i'm not nearly as pissy because these cards were only twelve dollars and change to grade third one come on give me a ten give me a ten i think that's a nine just based on centering right here but come on night nine okay all right it look honestly this is a good looking car this is a great looking card i think this looks way better than first year prism which looks like the thing that you put in your car to keep the sun out or or a burrito wrapper from chipotle of course this one's one of my favorites because this is kevin durant but i really like that jersey that thunder jersey that he was wearing in this picture based on centering i'm going nine hopefully not an eight nine okay all right all right notice my attitude's a lot better nine all right centering's way off nine nine okay all right last video i i said nine so many times people thought i was like a a german military instructor nine nine nine ten boom baby 10 all nines and 110 i will take that i will take that all day long beautiful card got my first 10. hell yeah all right i'm feeling good i also had my smoothie so got some hydration in me all right next one come on baby 10 10 10 10 9 okay all right well at least uh no eights all right come on baby centering i'm guessing this is a nine but ah okay nine all right so we got 110 the rest of them nine so far let's see here all right ten baby so we got two tens two tens so far so really good should be a great return 13 or so to grade and i think the card itself i'd have to think of think back to how much maybe 15 so a 10 and that's just a good looking card in a rare jersey i like that all right come on give me another 10. come on come on come on nine okay all right all right all right and nine okay got a couple more of these ten ten all right three tens tens so far i will take it i will take it i'm feeling good hopefully this is this is foreshadowing hopefully this means i'll have a lot of good grades and not all the good cards are at the beginning and then all the bad cards are towards the end all right next one oh damn i got an eight all right well my first eight probably some micro scratches up here good looking card for an eight but you know they saw something that i didn't but either way for 13 to grade uh the occasional eight is not a big deal all right next one nine okay all right that's the average next one nine okay i got a lot of these i had no idea i had a whole stack of these in fact there are a few more down there this one the centering is way off i'm guessing nine oh damn another eight yeah i don't know if that's the case or what that's that's kind of jacked up but i also went in with the mentality of 13 a card it's probably i'm not gonna lose money i could probably sell that for 25 bucks or so all right next one nine okay next one nine all right and last one here come on give me a ten give me a ten just ended up with a ten ha nine okay all right overall not bad that was box number one i had no idea all of these were first-year select uh kevin durant with a couple steph curry's that's crazy i did not realize i had that many and that takes us to box number two and who knows what's in here maybe it's more of the same let's try and hide the hide the cards from me let's see okay well already we got a damian lillard i believe yeah lillard hoops is that a hoops or a marquee yeah hoops oh seven seven uh a little corner there corner there yeah i kind of i think i i was uh i kind of just went with whatever i'll grade at anything and everything but yeah that's not a good grade but you know what i will say this with the psa slab and with the card itself it's a good looking card because the slab the my big thing with psa is that this red trim looks really bad on a lot of cards but when you have a hoops card like this with the red it looks it looks good it fits it fits nicely but if this is like a teal card or blue or green then the red label actually looks bad but this is a complete looking card because the the label uh you know complements the card itself all right so that's not good that's my first seven next one eight okay well a bit better but overall this is not very good next one oh god eight maybe we did just start with the best cards and it's only gonna go downhill from here ah yes okay so hopefully this 10 will uh counterbalance some of those eights and the seven so as long as the average if that 10 can bail me out and and cover the other cards i'm good next nine all right i'll take a nine not bad again 13 or so to grade whatever it is not bad oh another seven oh man hoops i i think it's just i must have picked some bad cards yeah there's a ding there and i also noticed that when i pack these cards sometimes i put them in the the card saver and i'm jacking up the card itself as i put it in there which sucks all right next one come on baby this is the last one i believe oh baby yeah two tens two tens yes man i'm feeling good i'm feeling good take that brad nolan i know you want me to get a bunch of fives and sixes all right anyway now the oh man so i think i have a ton look at this ton of select damien lillard rookie cards i'm excited about this it took holy crap i have so many look at this all of these i don't want to scratch up the slabs with this all of these damien lillard select rookie cards i remember getting on these cards very early in about march of 2020 for about 12 to 15 dollars a piece and i'm a big fan of first year select as you guys know but also uh this color with damian lillard and the blazers it reminds me of select high life because their color scheme so we have one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen i'm also a fan of damian lillard because i like the way he plays i like the way he wants to stay with gold uh with portland how he wants to carry the team on his back and i don't know if he's going to get traded as i record this there's a lot of rumors even though he's denying it but anyway i like the way he plays i like who he is i like his swagger so this centering is atrocious look at this it's like 90 10. i'm guessing this is an eight or nine eight eight okay so eight there not the worst thing in the world this one's better ah i guess not yeah i mean a little micro scratch there again i'm going with whatever uh it's worth 13 bucks to grade next one nine okay so nines i'm all good with but i'd love to get at least two or three tens in here that would be amazing all right come on baby come on yeah nine all right all right all right this one centering looks good corner looks a bit uh probably a nine ah nine okay come on baby a couple more left give me a couple tens couple tens i'll really be bailed out one two three yes boom ten damian lillard select rookie card in a psa 10. loving it a couple more would be great come on let's do this one two three nine all right as long as it's a nine i'm good but a ten man you know when you look at those multipliers it's like three x you're like damn give me that ten oh a second ten boom boom take that brad nolan i can't say that enough all right this one i could tell already centering way off from left to right that that's i don't know if i can get a nine if the centering is that bad but uh okay cool i'll take the nine because that centering is atrocious rest the card looks great maybe down there's a little something nah that's good all right so far i'm happy so far i'm happy all right let's do this uh [Music] boom three ten so far three tens hell yeah i think uh my psa grader got laid the night before so good for you probably it was on hinge like i am anyway next one yeah eight all right all right yeah a little micro scratch there i see already all right next one come on two more left give me one more ten that centering is way off so let's start there i bet this is gonna be an eight or nine nine all right all right this is my last shot centering uh 55 45 what do you think i'm guessing it's nine but hoping for it ten boom boom feeling good feeling good box number three let's do this i'm feeling good this is already 10 times better than my my first submission let's see what we got in here kevin durant okay this was like an early like a second year bowman chrome card kevin durant nine that's a great looking card though that's a really good card i love anything kevin durant in the sonic's jersey just because that team doesn't exist anymore but i'll take that in a psa nine and this is another one ten boom oh my god what a they must have had an amazing date the night before what a great looking card though i love the border everything looks good and again this is one of those cards where the red trim of the psa label actually complements the red trim of the card it doesn't uh contradict it or like clash beautiful card all right feeling good feeling good this is a kevin durant i believe one of his lower end rookie cards 2007 nine all right take it same one here nine all right what do we got here clay oh clay thompson i believe brilliance rookie card and i'm glad i got this now before the next season oh that's good and i know this is a lower end rookie card it's not his prism it's not one of the select but that's a good one right there psa 10 i will take that man feeling good i think they saw the video and they're like dude we got to hook this guy up because he's gonna just bash us on youtube if not all right hoops rookie card for anthony davis nine okay all right i'll take it and now what we have here looks like a bunch of well not a bunch i guess more damian lillard brilliant rookie cards marquee i think this is panini or marquee rookie cards or what's the other one crusade rookie cards and then this is a second year prism 10. hey you know what it's a second year prism these cards shot up in value at some point and i don't expect them to continue to shoot up but if it's a psa 10 graded for 14 a second-year prison base hey it's still worth way more than the six or eight dollars i paid for the card so i will take that all day long second one oh another ten oh my god yes yes yes loving it feeling good all right damian lillard what's this uh which one uh brilliance i think brilliance nine okay and i think that's a good looking card again the trailblazers jersey that background really looks good with the uh psa label so any card that looks complete with that red label i'll like nine all right oh damn an eight okay still looks good but it must have been something i didn't see all right you know this video might not be as entertaining as the last one since i actually got some good grades so far next one oh boom 10. there it is psa10 and if you guys are wondering how hard it is to get a psa 10 remember i looked over each card with a magnifying lamp i cleaned each card i put in a new sleeve i i was trying trying to be very careful putting them into the card saver this is not a very this is not a rushed process you really got to take your time next one nine okay all right so fine with the nines and this is a pretty cool rookie card because it's actually cut out and this is marquee and i believe marquee had uh two or three different rookie cards within that set but nine that's a cool looking card i like that cool looking card that's a nine this is the other one uh this is marquee or crusade crusade okay this is this is my kobe card so ha 10 baby hell yeah so if you guys have noticed i had that kobe bryant card in this set and because it has that angel wing type of design with kobe it looked magical it looked mystical like wow what a a crazy card like a card from heaven so you see here it's a nice looking card with damian lillard but with kobe bryant it was worth a lot of money and i was able to sell a psa 10 for about hundred dollars even though i bought it for ten bucks uh that was a psa ten though created all right next one boom ten whoo i'm i'm feeling that auro ah next one oh 10. my god man psa they're like we gotta do an apology uh uh submission for this guy all right one two three ten last one here oh damn just crushing the game crushing it all right next box next box next box uh oh oh we got something in here we got something weird in here we got something in here that is not graded because oh something that did not get graded i got a return and that's unfortunate so i'll start here i've not seen this before not licensed authorizer holder author right what the holder i didn't put it in this did i did i really pack it in this it doesn't look like something i would do it's a cool card i wish they would have graded it it's my favorite mike tyson card look at him look how badass he looks yeah beautiful card i don't know if i can get that graded again uh i'm just probably going to keep for myself because i like this one but someone wants to buy it i'll sell it um i'm not like tied to it but i have to be a good offer i just don't know how much it's worth it's just a great great card overall all right that's kind of a bummer that that's not graded but i'll take it all right next up colin kaepernick colin kaepernick a very controversial player but uh you know i think he has a documentary coming out at some point and uh no matter what he's tied to history he's tied to nfl history he's tied to pop culture history so there's uh there's something to be said about that okay i think this is top's chrome rookie card oh eights that's that's lousy but it's lousy for a player that's not very collectible right now eight ah okay i don't even wanna take too much time here next one nah nine okay a nine i'll be okay with that last one eight damn three eights and a nine so these cards the tops chrome it's a tough grade and i see like stuff here it just still looks really good overall but i guess each little nick is just enough to to take it down from a ten to a nine to an eight so this was probably this is definitely my worst investment so far with three eights and a nine but again doing the math and being able to pay just 13 a piece if i can break even on the bad ones and make a profit on the good ones then that's really not that bad next one mike tyson oh that is good that is good psa 10 i love this card i think you guys saw me buy this a while ago uh tyson used to what play with pigeons or something collect pigeons where is it yeah it's not on here but he had something to do with like he would race pigeons or fight pigeons or feed pigeons something along those lines but i think it's a really cool picture just because you see this innocent little pigeon that could be had its head ripped off by mike tyson and he's just that's his softer side you see a softer gentler side coming out so i love this card psa 10 that's amazing let's see what else we got oh another 10 another 10. beautiful wow awesome awesome last one oh three tens in a row brad nolan take that all right all right now this was a cool card i actually found this on comp c and this reminded me of like a kind of like the marvel's card because you see here this is michael jordan but it was like a saturday morning cartoon so it wasn't the comic book type of look that the marvel's insert had with zion and the others but it does have a very saturday morning cartoon look so i wanted to try this out oof ouch that's bad seven great looking card very cool very unique but a seven ain't gonna help me all right and then all right the olympic cards finally came in it might be a good time to sell those nine all right i'll take it i'll take it for what it is nine and i love these olympic cards because as i've mentioned in the past what i like is the fact that this was the only time michael jordan played for my team the whole uh the rest of his career he played against my orlando magic so to see him in the usa jersey and actually represent my team or the team i wanted to win was was pretty special all right next one oh lebron oh this is my lebron fleer this is a second year card first year in the usa uniform oh brad nolan you're gonna you're gonna tear me a new one on this a two how in the world is this a two i mean it's like missing a digit isn't it twelve i mean all right maybe it's not great but a two i mean that's kind of funny i mean maybe it's it like is everything wrong with it i mean isn't like a two like one of those mickey mail cards that's crumpled up and went through the washing machine and survived two world wars this is like a i don't know a six i i don't know i don't know i mean not great but look two two two all right all right now this is a big deal this is a real big deal these are my kobe bryant crusade cards and i did not realize i had so many of them with psa so again i sold a psa 10 of this for 1200 and i think that i sold the other one for 900 or a thousand during its peak now i don't expect that kind of return but i do have one two three four five six seven of these so if i can get three tens out of seven that would be incredible and that would really uh make this whole submission first one start with a ten start with a ten boom all right all right second one second one let's get another ten let's get that good one nine okay so one and one one and one it's like a best of seven series all right we need four tens to win the series ten so two and one two and one all right i'm feeling good feeling good next one three and one another ten this greater i don't know who you are but except for that random ass two this grader is on point next one i'm paying my rent this month i am paying my rent not joining the rest of la on the on the side streets of skid row and hollywood boulevard next one damn are you telling me okay let's see this one look at this look at this this is money right here this is great so i got literally ten nine ten ten ten ten ten six tens and one nine i'm gonna try and be gentle i don't wanna scratch the cases i know some of y'all gave me a hard time that i treat these cases like otterboxes versus something a lot nicer but wow that was a return right there and this is a cool car this is also a crusade i think a yeah a different year though and i think this was an insert it's prism i think this was an um not an insert but a numbered card or something like that yeah look at that that is sick it matches my shorts i'm actually wearing camo right now oh man that is a beautiful beautiful card wow i love that i love that ten hell yeah all right three boxes left and i'm feeling great i'm feeling like there is nothing that can uh derail this but i also want to knock on wood because anything can happen and i forgot the other cards that i submitted so let's take a look what do we have here mike trout a second-year mic trial card it's probably not worth much now there was definitely a period where uh they spiked but let's see what we got nine yes second year i think second year bowman base card not the most flattering looking face right there he has like nine chins or like a pelican like one gigantic pelican chin but anyway it's mike trout so nine nine i don't like this card at all this is just grading base cards ah eight but you know base cards were really popular when 50 000 people flocked to the hobby in a matter of three months nine all right 10 okay sweet so 10 ought to cover that eight and maybe a couple of the nines as well and let's see this one this is is this the same one yeah same one all right eight uh okay so hey look as long as i got those kobe crusades in a 10 i'm happy all right this one all right another 10. cool cool beautiful and again look at that red trim angel's outfit psa label it matches the whole card looks good now 10 yes yes yes all right next one 10. oh this is a different one third year second year third year tops i mean look back then everything was selling everything was selling a ton so if i could buy it for five dollars or ten dollars or six bucks and then grade it for 13 then i would do it and a lot of other people would too all right ten all right hell yeah nine all right nine yeah face looks a bit better there face looks you know you don't see how many chins he has this one ten sweet sweet again not the the nicest card pretty boring but again when you do the math and you see that that's how much they're they're charging you know thirteen dollars per card and you see how much it costs you to buy the card for five or six bucks you just do it and let's see what this is i'm gonna guess a nine ah ten sweets all right oh this was a cool card this is a-rod and ken griffey jr together and this is the top's finest i believe oh yes top's finest refractor split screen psa 10. beautiful i like it and honestly with a-rod what he's doing in the business world i'm becoming a bigger and bigger fan of a-rod i'm hearing him on podcasts like ed mylett show i'm hearing him kind of uh make fun of himself like that self-deprecating humor i'm seeing what he's doing in terms of you know his uh when he was with j.lo he had that really funny tick tock video i just like his personality and his business acumen even though i never really cared about baseball and watched him play even though i know he's known for taking steroids and whatnot all right ken griffey jr i believe this is tops chrome refractors so i have one two three four so let's see what we got here nine beautiful card though i love that card see this is when i look at it and go this teal this is beautiful this does not go with the red trim at all it's a great looking card but this red border actually destruct detracts distracts kind of hurts that okay next one nine all right another nine beautiful card come on give me 110 110 here 10 yes yes yes yes beautiful and last one nine all right so three nines 110 but great great card gorgeous gorgeous cards right there and the last two in here are more colin kaepernicks i can't expect very good grades i'm guessing eights eight and nine all right well i did get a nine at least all right i'll take that just two more boxes left and i'm feeling ridiculously happy from all of those kobe bryant crusade cards now on to the young guns and i believe these are really easy grades and i forgot the the ratio but i want to say like 60 are tens forty percent or nines typically uh so let's see sebastian ajo was one of the guys i targeted earlier uh about a year year and a couple months ago nine all right so that's not great for that type of gem rate 10 there we go so 10 is great and i think i paid maybe 15 per card of sebastian ajo and i just like the fact that he was a top scorer for carolina and carolina looked like a up-and-coming team 10 all right so a second 10 right there i need a new stack before these things fall over next one nine okay so what we got two nines two tens three tens two nines all right very cool and this is a mic trout going back to that that tops all right nine ten sweet nine nine okay and i still have this stack right here of the second to last box more trouts nine 10 okay cool i can't believe i got this many trouts but at least if i'm going to take my sweet ass time on submitting and psa is going to take a year or 9 months might as well do it on a player like mike trout who's a first ballot hall of famer and hopefully he'll win a championship nine six how did that happen like what am i looking at is there like a some sort of funny material that got splattered on the car that i didn't see or what i guess down here is a bit jacked up but it's weird how it just drops from what i could see just from the surface is a nine and it goes down to a six but you know what besides that two i'm actually quite quite happy with the grades nine all right that's fine eight okay that's not going to help me i actually have to pee right now i just have my smoothie i'm going to try and get through this 10 sweets nine okay nine last one here 10 yes now we are on the final final box now let's take a look oh this one came with a rubber band nice thanks for the bonus all right let's see here and we'll start with my boy brayden points two-time stanley cup champion such a beast such an underrated guy for the lightning and now he's finally becoming more of a household name after an incredible run so this is his canvas young gun rookie card 10 hell yeah and i remember selling the non-canvas version for about a hundred and eighty dollars to two hundred dollars i paid maybe fifteen to twenty dollars for this card but that's not something that i could find now that's just what prices were about 14 15 months ago next one yes yes man what a great guy what what a stud of a player but i'm happy to get all these graded and he should have a another great year next year all right so the regular young guns i mean this might be a 250 card now i mean the pop report will of course go up but he's also a two-time champion since this card was submitted since the lightning won back-to-back championships in like 260 days or some sort of uh ridiculously small window of time 10 yep oh i'm digging it 10 oh man my rent is getting paid 10 oh man this is good 10 of kyle connor okay i remember that was another guy i was targeting based on the statistics and he's not nearly as much of a household name or a champion as uh braden point but i'll take those tens this is again these were about fifteen dollars a piece last two kyle connors ten ten bam and now they're easy grades but hey i will take them all day long thank you thank you all right this is the last bit right here kyle connor again ten kyle connor again no nine all right whatever nine's fine the corner looked a bit soft maybe a bit dinged up right there next one ten whoo next one nine all right nine all right ten as long as there's not a psa two i mean come on that was ridiculous ten whoo man ten man this it's a tired record it's a old record ten we got a couple more here three more ten ten [Music] nine okay well i wish that i would have ended only ten ten nine ten boom all right so when i break down all the grades i got something like 45 psa tens and forty percent psa nines and a handful of eights and then a couple really low grades like that one uh lebron james psa ii and now that i think about it maybe the grader really hates lebron especially in the usa jersey because that was the only lebron card and it was such a low grade that i don't even understand how it got there but anyway based on the fact that i got a lot of these cards for 10 or less over a year ago including all those kobe bryant crusade cards and even the damian lillard rookie cards were about 15 each the brayden point rookie cards were about 18 each and my total cost for grading was only fifteen hundred and sixty dollars including tax and including card savers which means that each card was only 11 and change my total uh investment on this whole grading process and all the cards is only about 2500 so averaging each card at seven dollars if all i need to do is make twenty five hundred dollars to break even i could probably do that with just selling a couple of the kobe bryant crusade cards and then the rest of which would be pure profit and that's pretty sweet because i know those uh brayden point cards the psa tens of the young guns are going for about three hundred dollars and the damian lillard select tens are hovering around five to six hundred dollars especially because it's a low pop card and there's a lot of trade rumors as of now around damien lillard so i'm really excited because i can actually see myself making about three or four thousand dollars from this uh submission if i sell sooner sooner than later and maybe even more money if i hold on for a couple months or a couple years now i wish there was like a big learning lesson that i could pass on but honestly i got a lot of these cards at amazing prices before the big 2020 rush and i know i can't find deals like this again nor could i expect psa to ever offer grading at 12 a card and that was just the benefit of getting an early and then also running the numbers and weighing the downside as much if not higher than the upside so now that prices are much higher for grading i would just say be very cautious and be very calculated with actually grading cards let me know your favorite card in the comments section below i'll be listing a lot of these on
