I Check Out Peter Piper Pizza With @MattTheFranchize

welcome back to set streets and needs guys I'm Chris Bower Matt the franchise is back I'm in Dallas just for a little bit and I thought I'd get a bike to eat with Matt and he's like have you been to Peter Piper Pizza and I was like no I don't think I have and he goes you know Chuck-E-Cheese owns them I was like I think I did know that but I don't think I've ever eaten it one so we're going to go grab a bite to eat and take you guys along with us yes come along to the journey of P and video games let's go eat so one about talk about later the video sit down but this place has been around for 50 years yeah it has actually because it it opened in like the early 70s yeah was 73 holy cow they have like a wow that's a lot of seating yeah so that's pretty crazy what's what's crazy too is on a weekend this place is Jam pack no kidding oh absolutely okay now I'm really excited to try the pizza now here's a funny thing too you notice that like with the graphics on the like on the brochure oh yeah there's the similar there's the ti right there yeah you can totally tell there's the the chucke font that is crazy how big it is in here like you can just imagine there would be a stage right there it's so big oh yeah absolutely so cuz they I know when I I know the reason I knew this place is cuz they bought pistol pets back in the day and Pistol pets had a Rocka fire explosion show pistol P Pizza everybody loves it and that's what it's all about yes everyone loves pistol piz pizza with a fulls siiz indoor marryg round ski ball video games and prizes plus the allnew rock of fire explosion show and a great tasy low price pizza and lots of family fun now that's what it's all about and from now through February 28th you can get two large pepperoni pizza is for only $9.99 P piz Pizza everybody loves it the nearest one to me was actually up in San Antonio and I never realized that that place was you know simar me see I never of course never saw pistol pets either cuz that was in Arizona or Southern chain and uh so but I didn't know when I was looking at Rocket fire stuff back in the day um I did know pistol piece was one of the places that got the show after Showbiz you know went belly well not belly up but one thing too is that booted Aon compared to Chucky cheese taste our Coke products here o I do like that I'm a Coke man myself never did like the Pepsi much so I pepperoni sausage mushroom green peppers and then Italian seasoning on top uhhuh it's one of my personal favorites from here too yes this is their original crust too this pizza on you got to do the original crust for the first time uh-huh yes it's got good nice weight to it oh absolutely oh yeah oh that hot that's good oh yeah oh that's good that's very tasty we got to talk we got to talk about North Ridge I do I can't believe so bummed to have to miss it mhm I was working in Detroit and I couldn't leave I really thought about flying out but I wish it had been on a week night I get why they didn't but yeah if they had been on a week night I'd have flown out and then P back the next day oh yeah I was actually I was actually about this close to actually getting out there really yeah just pulling the trigger on it just the problem was it was just like the the tickets were just way too pricey I didn't even look at ticket prices that's the only thing that hel I had a place to stay um I had a friend of mine who was willing to let me stay with him I could have up by you yeah yeah I had somebody who was willing to let me stay with them and then they would give me a ride to him from the airport so if I needed to but unfortunately it just didn't work out so instead that day I just went to Louisville and hung out you know over there yeah cuz the Louisville location like to me feels the most at home you know the staff there has always been really good to me they a lot of them are my good friends and stuff so that's the story I always frequent the most these days yeah I was uh I was bummed after miss it just once Nolan announced he was going to be there I just thought that was such a cool thing I'm glad Travis got to go mhm he was about the only person besides Isaiah I knew was there yeah that's saw Alison and her kid went yeah they went they went out there um bunch of other people I know went too and stuff it was a lot of fun oh yeah their cheesy Bread's amazing and the the thing is it's cheesy mhm they're not messing around mm that cheese bread is good mm it's dunkable okay so honest opinion uh-huh scale 1 to 10 on the pizza I mean it's nothing that's going to be like this is unique but it's still a salad seven I'd say seven on on a pizza scale like like this is something you would order because it's good pizza absolutely yeah there's nothing about it that I would be like that's the one thing yeah you know really good honestly like be Piper is to me personally is a little more top tier than Chucky honestly really quality rise because the thing is like of course chuckecheese Pizza has changed a couple times over the years yeah Pier Piper Pizza has never has never changed like it's still the same the same taste in everything that I remember when I was a kid so that's what I like about it it's still that's probably true it still has that now the way they cook them is a little bit different because like here they actually have like the old school like or the the you know the the oven that runs them all the way through um like other location like the Arlington one that's here in Dallas um they actually have a um the old school version where it's like a excuse me it's like a Carousel and it runs the pizzas like around like that oh really that's like what a lot of the older peer Pipers had back in the day nowadays they have like the newer ones like the ones that Chuck-E-Cheese uses basically that's pretty cool and like only and it only was this year that they switched over to the Fun passes too the tokens until then yeah they've kept the tokens all the way up until that point that's pretty cool now when they bought uh Crystal pets did they keep the animatronics in it or did they get rid of them right away I think they got rid of them after you know once they switched them over to if they if they became Peter Pipers they took them outz I don't know if they or got rid of that cuz I don't think Peter yeah I don't think Peter Piper had the rights to the character only did so probably they lost the deal whenever that's true they probably lost the deal after they you know got ripped yeah there's no way they would to keep paying errand yeah exactly valid point yeah because they bought them back in the 90s yeah and then TR didn't buy these till the 2000s I believe mhm 2014 that's right so well under the 2000s I remember I was working in the corporate office when that when that merger happened mhm that's a pretty big merch cuz they have what 120 different locations they have more than that no kidding I think they they got a lot a majority of their locations are also franchise too oh okay okay so like majority of them like there's at most I believe there's like maybe 60 or 70 stores that are corporately owned but the rest yeah like this one's a franchise all the the two locations here in Dallas are franchise big store uhhuh space this is an this is the average size of a store wow like from the '90s basically yeah the newer now they had a newer one in mosquite it was it was unfortunately one of the uh it was a victim of the of the virus the 2020 virus oh go it was one of those shut like it was one of the locations they actually announced that was shutting down oh so it unfortunately got nicked during the but the um but the layout that was a little bit more concealed it was a lot smaller yeah it was also in a mall too so it was like so it was on the edge of the mall it was like so it was like you could enter it from the outside of the mall you don't have to go into through the mall and now to the arcade see that sign said please don't leave any children unattended so I have to keep my eye on you and there's a lot of unattended children in here tokens oh yeah none of these are Chuck-E-Cheese or Chas though no they're those are actually for the game now do you guys use tokens at fre play or you guys card oh wait you guys don't even use tokens it's free play the name oh you guys you had your animatronics for up at free play for Halloween this year didn't you they were on display so Jasper was on display as a different character okay he was labeled as cyber a mic okay cyber ack I get it and it fast and then Reggie was set up as Reggie because you know that's my original character yeah so it's you know its own character and they were they were uh part of a special event that free playay was doing called um the neon Carnival which they did like a themed Halloween party and they were um part they were basically the MC's for the first half of the night that's awesome they got a lot of uh positive reviews oh bet the owners were there the owners loved it oh man what kind of like music did you guys get did you program it was just basically a mixture of like ' 80s music ' 90s music they were just playing regular songs that's awesome I also made some uh custom skits for them as well too oh cool so they had like a they had little things where they would banter with each other so that was a lot of fun and everybody they'll probably give them bring them back for other holidays then won't they or was there probably a ton of work getting them up there oh it was um Jasper was literally without his Cosmetics on So to avoid to avoid any copyright issues yeah I would imagine I would imagine but uh it naked yeah yeah so he was just without Cosmetics on him it would be cool to actually if you were going to do that more to actually come up with some custom Cosmetics for him I'm looking into it it's definitely like a sweet pooch maybe in a suit a business Pooch right but yeah theyve uh awesome they have talked about wanting to do it again so that would be cool man I'm doing it next year possibly so we'll see what happens um that's pretty sweet yeah that was something that happened I've definitely seen them Ghostbusters before and some Chuck E cheers big bass oh yeah big bass definitely seen those the Tic Tac Toe Shack scage he has his own video game I didn't know that what I didn't either Shack's got a video game apparently all look at old shack it's got basketballs I going say it looks like cars and Shack as what looks like a picture it's like two different ways to copyright right that's funny that is interesting game on it's a nice little arcade mixture some rid absolutely got snow cross aliens cool stuff in the clogging air hockey oh what kind of prices we got here the usual hodge podge of fun slap bracelets and pencils candies I'll take all the smarties and all the all the smarties no actually I take that back I'll take all Funko Pops gamer headphones oh they got those bounc one the bouncing balls that you said on I remember the 80s got some really good stuff I like that stuff yo-yos that's cool ooh spinza Hoy and look at this claw game all kinds of rubber duckies and rubber bunnies and rubber aliens H that's pretty cool they're probably still just as hard to get I bet and the dinosaur I've seen one of these is with all sharks in it too out of Bullwinkles in Tacoma Washington I love this turtles yeah that's a classic I dig that one oh by the way before I forget y got to give you these bad boys oh sweet so now you got some yay Peter Piper tokens to go with Peter Piper tokens oh that's awesome yes sir I've never had any Peter Piper tokens there you go now you got mine we got our cards my first time getting a Peter Piper play C obviously we could use it on any of these games but is that what we're going to go spend our cards on nope Matt you need to back up against it make sure all right you'll you'll clear all right it's green I swear I swear I'm an adult yeah you really got to use two hands on this don't you wow this is touchy very nice oh my God I'm pretty sure I'm burning the clutch out in this hello hello got got him well that was a wonderful first visit what it say did you have a good time I did actually it's a lot of fun I don't need to see the KIRO cracker after the bumper cars so worked out great there we go well uh hope you guys enjoyed my first visit yes to Peter Piper Pizza yeah he picked a piper pepper pecker pepper something like that bush of peppers something anyway pizza was delicious bumper cars were fun fun games fun environment no animatronics Chuck-E-Cheese owns them but just like most of their stores they've pulled out the animatron no they didn't have any animatronics been open it worked it's fine but it was good hope you guys enjoyed it was cool hanging with Matt again I'll see him on my next trip and we'll see you guys next time too bye guys see you
