I Built A Portal Based Puzzle Room For My Friends To Solve!

welcome back to the channel and today my friends and I have all built portal themed puzzles using the portal mod which uh Works mostly like how you would expect it to work uh with a little bit more wonky physics I've done some videos on the portal mod in the past but let me explain to you how this portal puzzle Works before we go over and uh put my friends in here that way you'll understand what they're trying to do and what they're missing when they're not doing it successfully so there is a goal to this puzzle there is a giant diamond in the middle of this room over here and your goal is to try to figure out how to destroy the diamond and that's pretty much the only context you have uh their inventories will be cleared and they will have to find the tools necessary so to start off with uh there's a couple of details that uh that are in this initial starting room obviously you cannot go through this door to start off with you got to figure out how to get through the door when you have no tools yet I intentionally put this sign upside down because I wanted them to notice it because this is going to come into play for a later part of the puzzle um so I wanted to be something that would stand out in a way but if you look at this corner you can see there is just barely visible a chest and that gives you all the portal guns you need to eventually portal and that allows you to get through this door because the bars allow you to send a portal through and now you find yourself in the museum we've got some fancy paintings on the wall we've got um other weird stuff and then of course we've got the diamond and some other paintings as well so now the first thing that they should do is uh try to figure out this switchboard and if you look through this little glass thing you can see there's like a little bit of like a flower pinwheel shape so that is there because if they do a good job at looking around especially the diamond that is their goal to destroy you may notice that there's a pinwheel on the back of a diamond and if you look through the cracks of the around the edges of the pinwheel you can see that there is actually a three by three grid with some green and some red and if you do that over here you go green green green Green you uh get the green light and you get a chest giving you a hammer which is going to be crucial for the next step and you get this light that marks uh that you've successfully done something oh yeah by the way they'll probably experiment with this button and see that we have somewhat of a hydraulic press to crush the diamond but um it's not strong enough because it needs it needs some assistance so now that we have the hammer uh we can do some other stuff like uh hit the paint on this and then you see this really weird uh kind of replica of this painting inside here and when you get inside this room you see it is surrounded by a sign that you might see somewhat familiar but when you hit all these signs with a hammer uh it's just blank walls there's nothing in here but that was supposed to hopefully Prime them to remember hey didn't I see one of those signs back at the beginning in which case when they go back and they hit this one there's a switch behind it and that activates another uh one of the lights so this one is also really interesting I'm really proud of this puzzle you can see there's a sign here that says uh this box gets folded into a box so the way that this works is when you press the green button everything folds up but as you can see some parts fold faster than others and the red buttons will actually uh slowly unfold the individual panels uh so you actually have to unfold and then fold everything until everything gets perfectly folded into the exact position at the exact right time and to give you an idea of what's actually going on here this panel and this panel fold at twice the rate of every other panel so you have to keep undoing those as you fold the box to get them all to line up perfectly just like that and that gives you access to this hole right here so now if you do this and portal inside you actually find yourself inside a box of your own and the goal of this is pretty simple there are sensors on every single side and there's only one spot in the box where you can stand to activate all sensors so obviously this is not one of those areas but if you press these buttons you will slowly rotate the box and I actually programmed it so that um the exit will close so you can't you can only exit when it's light when the hole is lined up with the museum um that was a bit of a logistics issue so now here it looks like you might be able to line up everything so if I say here that one that one that one everything except that one because this one you've got to move a lot closer and then you're not gonna be on these ones but if you keep on rotating the Box eventually you'll get there and then once you rotate it onto this side when you stand here you'll hear a sound that means all of them have been successfully illuminated and then that gives you a little bit of a hint that there is something in the wall right here and that gives you a successful completion of this one but the exit is actually somewhat of another thing you actually have to realign the exit back to where it was which is why I put the exit sign there so you can see what orientation it was supposed to be in once the exit gets realigned you can see it reopens and then you can get on back out of here and then we have another uh painting right here and if you dig underneath the tree you can actually go into a 3D version of the entire painting and the painting is actually a hint for what's inside the painting So if you dig underneath the tree you find the switch and this one is solved not too hard pretty straightforward in my opinion all right and then we have four out of the five and this is the final one this one's kind of cool so one of these is uh destructible so you can see it kind of looks like an abstract art painting but uh this is actually a code that tells you what you need to do so if you memorize the code yellow green blue yellow yellow blue they will actually go through a complicated series of rooms so we're in yellow and if you look around you can see we've got yellow blue and green and the code was yellow green blue yellow yellow blue I think so we're in yellow then we go green then we go blue and then yellow yellow blue and here's where it gets uh kind of difficult you may notice that there's green over here and there's blue over there but we need yellow and they're gonna have to look up there is one in the top of this one that goes to Yellow so then we need another yellow and then a blue which is right over here and then that brings you to the final switch and that also opens up this door which brings you right back to the museum and then with the final switch you'll see a little bit of a door opens here which allows you to place a portal onto the press and then that allows you to complete um oh wait a minute why isn't this actually oh I forgot I need a I need a return portal in order for it to get destroyed the parts need a place to get destroyed too and there we go that's how you destroy the diamond I'm not gonna completely destroy it because then loud noises will happen but uh let's see who can get to the diamond and destroy it to the quickest let's stop over and see how they do all right guys Welcome to My Portal puzzle I'm gonna have you guys completely clear your inventory everything out of your inventory the puzzle portal gun no nothing it will provide the portal gun the map will provide when necessary what you need who makes a portal puzzle right so here's your goal here here's the goal uh there this is like kind of like an art museum and there is a diamond in the middle of the art museum and it is your goal to destroy the diamond because um it was like unethically sourced or something art museums yeah I just like steal it and then or maybe no you gotta destroy it if you steal it if you steal it you're no better than the museum itself they stole it and now you got to destroy it yeah that's what I hear everyone's doing nothing to do yeah well so you got to figure out how to destroy the diamond so if you guys uh get into your staircases and open the door when I say go all right three two one go doors open oh it opened towards me of course sorry yeah I don't know do not do not enter this is a museum with a jail bar doors bruh oh yeah they're um they're they're really serious about their security it's one of those museums people aren't allowed to go and observe the art it's one of those music yeah I love how I love how scrap man put a um what did he play oh uh am I supposed to find this like chest with Portal guns in it yes that's what you're supposed to do okay so I can I can put one in my inventory now that I found them yes if you find it in a chest it goes in your inventory okay got it so clearly I just gotta do this that this is this is we're going in yeah and oh I'm out again oh can we do the same thing yeah you won't have teleported all right we're good I'm in the museum oh this this painting of this Cowboy looking man uh with the duck that's that's exciting he's oh he's at the beach there's lights you notice there's green lights above each exhibit Mumbo I feel like that's I saw that well some of the well they don't they're not all of them what but all this folds into a box that's cool oh it breaks that's not so oh no I broke it careful careful don't try not to overdo things because you could make it harder on yourself well the bot with my box it's all messed up now I don't know that's interesting uh-oh this is a funny mechanic okay oh is your box also broken Mumbo mine I think it's kind of broken but it's not is it supposed to be oh there it goes oh there's yeah so it is using controllers so if you overdo a rotation you have to give it more time to undo when you're pressing the red buttons um right wait oh I have to reset the whole thing there's no master reset button uh note the red I'll let you guys know the red button uh undoes the undo's the individual panels and the green button closes all of them so you've got to figure out how to close the Box the right way this is terrible I kind of I just oh man this kind of looks like he's getting kind of close so close oh oh almost oh one of them is completely overdone for Yukon uh yeah I can't get it out now it's oh okay I flattened this one okay oh no oh you're so close you are so close he got the box somewhat you got the box we're doing it hello I know I didn't want to be in the Box [Music] I realized how easy it probably was to solve it if you have it set up appropriately yeah so the reason why it's hard is because some of the panels move twice as far as some of the other panels so you gotta like keep undoing some I don't I don't understand what I'm trapped in a in a cardboard box of motions well the exit closed on me bro this is even worse okay I I thought I activated all the sensors am I not is that not what I'm supposed to do oh the exit's back open what's up did you activate every single sensor at the same time at the same time oh at the same time oh obviously the same time well I didn't know that oh mumbo's just completely resetting here wow I feel like it's just I feel like it's the appropriate he's opened this box back up to its starting position that's right wait you can't activate all the sensors at the same time this is one on the left then I guess you don't have the right rotation do you okay there's how does that what I'm in I'm standing in the spot so now I need to go back right there might be multiple uh options that you have to figure out what's the right position in the Box to be in is that the same angle oh God that's not stupid this is stupid or I'm clearly activating all these sensors but okay we'll go this way then fine a little bit more oh yeah that did it that's all of them okay they're all they're all lit up okay there we go it shines okay it shines a light on on that what well how does that help me con might be missing something the whole box is good oh this box am I supposed to is this what do you mean God's missing some things cod's got all there's a light there I can't am I supposed to smash that I don't have a hammer you don't have a hammer hmm what is all this supposed to get a hammer before I oh God why am I able to do this boom boom don't go in the Box I'm in it I'm in the Box get out get out of the box imagine in the Box find a hammer first you realize you guys are competing for the to finish first right oh we gotta work together we have different objectives okay I mean you could work together to solve it I don't I don't mind rules need a hammer okay okay it's just like oh this is a ball I don't know I had to smash the Box this reminds me of um you know the Super Mario 64 the paintings that you go into that's what I was thinking too all right so clearly we solve whatever this nonsense is why is that why can I see through oh I can clearly see nothing what is this is telling me it's a flower what does that mean green Sky man and his dang switch puzzles man he's got all these you know you got you always gotta have one you always gotta have one switch puzzle I don't see there's a flower in there like what if I oh you guys might have to be a little bit more you might have to look around a little bit before you start actually committing the stuff that's a mean Faith Inside the Box this little office looks terrible uh okay my my portal map is much easier I promise is it it is very much he's got five we got us we gotta blow up oh that that brings down something oh I see you you crushed the diamond in a hydraulic press well that's exciting yeah yeah remember your goal is to destroy the diamond so you start to figure out how to do that how do we destroy it that's right oh wait can I go in the Box itself I was thinking about going into the box itself yeah I just did there's nothing in here oh now I can't get nothing in there there is a it looks like there's some breathing holes though so you should be okay yeah there used to not be breathing holes and uh I've had I've had testers get themselves Stuck In The Box and not be able to get out so that's why there's holes there now thank you missing on there's that there's just nothing to interact with right am I crazy there's nothing to be interesting I'm looking for like a single peephole in the wall you know or it's like you can just hanging out of there did you find the hammer yet no there's just the switches there's no pattern I can't recognize a pattern yeah like you look through you see that you see that thing it's like a pinwheel of sorts yes I see yeah the pinwheel yeah it doesn't mean anything though it's like the most used pinwheel is like the most useless little bit of information yeah like you can't make a pinwheel with no no how are you supposed to make a pattern out of the switches with a pinwheel what's what's that all about this doesn't make any sense you only give me nine switches yeah man that diamond that diamond is uh you really gotta figure out how to destroy that thing I know that's the challenge oh what does this mean oh is there something in the diamond area oh is that it was that you guys know you can look through like the portal gun little piece of glass and it lets you look through glass oh like a transparent thing yeah [Music] that that okay okay I got you I got it I got it might want to take a closer look I know well I was taking a pretty close look here I found a hammer oh I'm an idiot this way there it is oh wait here we go oh yeah I don't know if you if you plan on that scrap it or not but if you look at a little bubble on top of the portal gun it actually like magnifies everything and it lets you look through glass textures so it's easier oh interesting I did not know that that's pretty cool yeah it lets you actually uh I thought maybe you were doing stuff like that all right so now I have to do this again oh all right exploring others oh my this is this is part of the exhibit oh stupid this stupid looks like it's hot but isn't the right time is that hard work paying off moonbow no but it's satisfying so I guess yes I have seen I I recognize that I found the thing I found a thing I found something too oh nice moonbow I thought that one might be one of the harder ones to get it to get the hint but you got it right away yeah well I had a feeling even before then ah what does that even do for me but uh the whole thing's cardboard so the chances of you finding the switch all right it's pretty good pretty good okay so that did that what did that actually do that gave me two green lights okay I'm not afraid of breaking these things I feel afraid really there's something else made to be broken watch this there's something in here I know that because scrapman was talking about something yeah yeah found that ah sensor oh okay okay so did that give me a third light it did all right so I know where there's gonna be another one because I know how this works there are three lights with yeah I knew there was gonna be one through this yeah I did this I'm on a roll that what do I have three lights I'm just gonna live here he's gonna live and live in the painting all right well clearly I have to like these are things all right what's what is it what do you didn't you didn't honestly you must have I really hope you didn't is there anything interesting I hear what you're doing and now I'm doing it as well oh no I don't have four lights oh I did something don't do what I was doing oh moon ball has three lights remember hadn't figured out the box quite yet the box over here I have a green light on this one but I guess that's not quite the inflated ah yes I'm going in here hello oh I think I might oh my God hello I don't know what to do actually I'm not too sure how this how this all relates to each other yeah I mean you heard you heard Khan doing this before you got to get all the sensors active at the same time yeah that's uh I'm not supposed to interact with the lights right Mumbo is trying to Brute Force the cardboard box what do you mean Brute Force what's the difference he's just hitting all the walls with his hands why can it spin because you have to you have to find the right spots to activate all the sensors I don't understand something's happening what's in this painting scrap man I don't uh hard work pays off but you kind of already paid off the hard work a little bit well I smashed everything but it didn't there's nothing you kind of you did this one but you just got ahead of it because you're hearing the when Mumbo was doing it yeah Oh you mean like I oh that was supposed to be your hint to hit the hard work pays off sign but you hit the hardware place okay so I only have to solve this nonsense whatever this nonsense so you're telling me okay I can activate all these sensors at once that is smashable wait is this a did I just see a hint no that wasn't a hint was it hmm oh no oh no you didn't do this oh no wait what did I just do cheat code is it left left right left a b start like what is the cheat code are you just gonna are you just gonna do a guessing game con good luck I I don't know is there oh wait a minute wait a minute you gave me I know what you gave me oh no I'm stuck how do I get back out how do I get out what do you win like I how do I go back the way I came you inside the Box oh no I'm stuck in the Box he's in another he's in another box of emotions how many boxes out of there dude I don't know how to get out I'm kind of confused here as to what the heck's going on inside this box okay One sensor at a time with my player because I found it you did I don't even understand how I did it I can't wait yeah once you stand in the right spot all the sensors will see you at their distances and then you did that you actually did that yep absolutely you just kind of accidentally saw that puzzle and I will take it oh here's some stuff oh no all right hold on so moonbow now has four lights and he is now on the puzzle that Khan is on can he solve it before Khan does because it seems like Khan is just trying to guess are you guessing Khan do you know what you're doing right now stop do you have a do you have a code or are you just going but I'm trying to memorize it blue yellow blue I'm looking for a color that doesn't exist now so I couldn't because there's a room there it is I'm trying to remember what the stupid code is and then you guys are talking and distracting me and I can't my beverage where would I even put this code in red orange yellow no don't give me colors shut up I'm gonna write it down you know what I'm gonna screenshot it real quick what I oh I'm trapped yeah you gotta find your way back to get to the I know I can't get back out where's Mumbo I feel like I understood pretty much in the same spot right now please send help please remember knows what he needs to do but uh yeah well because I want to reset myself so I can map this I'm gonna I'm gonna print screen real quick I'm just taking a screenshot I think this is thanks for getting the stupid code okay there's this way out this is the way out okay so this wait oh my what the okay so I come in here has uh made some progress here remember has made some progress okay it is so close this one out this way oh oh this way switch oh door oh walking slides I have six I mean five there's only five like five he's only five he has all the lights does this do something oh he's gonna wait he still has to figure out how to destroy the diamond oh maybe Ben you must not be following the code correctly wait am I stuck in here uh you got to get your portal on a wall yep oh there's a stupid it's oh it's up there you gotta look up sometimes you just gotta look up guys this way oh there goes that diamond Moon celebration just let me out oh thank God oh okay now I just all right now Khan has to figure out how to destroy the diamond this portal puzzle is not as that simple is it can you just can you just please what if I just do this and I know like um what are you trying to do kai I don't know if I'm supposed to do this I don't know if I'm supposed to do this or not but can I go can I go up in here am I supposed to do oh there you go there you go crush it you got to destroy the diamond you gotta destroy the diamond for this portal puzzle to to win this portal puzzle yeah this is a good you just gotta destroy the diamonds to uh solve the portal puzzle um oh yeah my favorite part hold on a minute hold on okay there you go all right there's this there's this thing can I can I do this and then oh I'm gonna do this is that Portal's in a weird orientation but it kind of is yeah it's oh oh you you did some damage you did some damage there you go you destroyed the diamond congratulations amazing not maze this maze sucked it was the worst I got a lot there for so long you just gotta follow the colors y'all you gotta do six colors that's right all of the colors because like the first couple do not have anything in the ceiling but then one of them has the thing in the ceiling all right well uh these guys built some portal puzzles and I'm gonna go ahead and try those portal challenges and see how I do so head on over to head on over to those channels and uh I'll leave links down in the description we'll see how it goes
