I Bought an Abandoned Tiny House

[Music] thank you we've been swinging and missing it ain't broke yet but damn it needs fixing I've been a while since she kissed felt like kissing it's just different we've been talking about forever since we've been together something battery hey everyone welcome to the channel I'm John and today I'm in Muskoka Ontario to show you a tiny little Airbnb project that I just recently purchased in a midnight in Austin for between a rock and a hard place so basically this is one of those contractor nightmares that you hear about uh basically the homeowners they don't live in Ontario they live in Alberta and they hired a contractor to build this tiny home for them it is a tiny home it's only 240 square feet it has a big muskoge room on the front which I'll show you in a minute but basically the contractor they're high they hired he did a really good job he got 50 percent of the way done and decided to give up on the project took their money and ran um fortunately the work that he did do like I said is really really good quality stuff but it left the homeowners in a really tough spot so it sat abandoned for over a year and they put it up on the market for sale that's when I found it and I bought it sometime in December and now that I'm back from Florida I spent the whole winter there it's time to get this thing done and turn it into a profitable Airbnb business all right so when you first walk in you're walking into a Muskoka room is what we call it so this is a screened-in room we have roofs on our lanais in Canada but basically this is 15 by 15. just a nice little screen in room absolutely key in this area but as you can see they've basically left all their junk behind some good stuff bunch of cedar shingles there a bunch of good Lumber some garbage like this and this and I've already been here I have already done some work to the place which I'm going to show you in a minute um and I have already removed some junk but the inside was full I was actually shocked and my stuff was in this place but either way let's go take a look inside [Music] done some awesome work with the beams looks really good there was already a bathroom there but I've gone ahead and ripped all that out already and I've gone and framed up new walls because I wanted a pocket door I didn't get any of that on film but I've installed the pocket door in there and I've re-lit redesigned the bathroom a little bit and just framed a new wall so that's done already um but there's still tons of work to do I'm going to bring you guys along for the entire project and uh hopefully you like it a few different things I have to design a stairways to get in there um I want to design a nice little seating area here couch with a closet or a pantry of some kind and then likely something matching on this side it'll hide the panel and everything and then right here we're gonna have a uh a closet that'll have washer and dryer because this is going to be an Airbnb and I need to be able to have a management company in here come and clean do the laundry do the sheets do the dishes everything so this will have running water heat air conditioning everything I plan on putting a hot tub and maybe even a nice bath depending how much money I have to sink into this place so we'll see now that I have a pocket door here that's going to allow for the bathroom to feel a little bit more open the dimensions of the shower are going to be 32 by 48 it's going to go right to the wall and the Vanity's gonna sit right here that doesn't really leave us any space for a toilet because this is the doorway so what I'm going to be doing is inside the shower I'm going to be mounting a wall hung toilet so you'll have the toilet with no base so it'll seem a little bit more open you won't have a tank it'll be hidden in the wall those wall hung toilets have the tanks they're actually hidden in the framing so you won't have a tank it just basically is the base of the toilet and it's hung on the wall so they look really good so we'll have a full three-piece bathroom with a toilet in the shower and the vanity right there so that's the bathroom next closet yes I'm using a pen I forgot a pencil so rock and a heart a hard place red wine mistakes tears all right guys I'm done here for today basically just wanted to put up that one wall for the closet so I can figure out what trim I'm getting and a couple other little things as well as make a list of the plumbing and the fixtures that I need to get so that's it not very exciting I'm done I put some blocking in in case I want to hang a TV there in the future but uh otherwise that's it pretty cool spot it's even pretty awesome when it's done [Music] is this where it means or it breaks how much more this can we take [Music]
