[Music] so this is the fourth video in a series on  this cabin this cabin was built in the 1960s   I'll put the link to the other videos in the  description let's get right to work so this   wall here is not actually structural  so I'm going to get rid of [Music] it I don't think it structur that makes it looks so much bigger in  here all right so for the remainder of   the project the kitchen is going to  be kind of a secret room I'm going   to not show any more of the kitchen  after this until this project is is completed all right I just want to jump in here real quick  I've had some stickers made there will be 99 of   these available in the link below it's going  to be an eBay listing link there's 99 of these   available when they sell out they're gone these  these designs will never be made again so if you   guys are interested check that link out below  and get yourself a couple sticker packs there's   going to be two stickers in each one we have  a 99 projects sticker and a 99 projects safety   Police Department sticker for all of these safety  policemen and women in the comment section okay   so this battery died which is totally normal but  the really annoying thing is that I went to pull   start and the pull start broke so I'm going to  try to dig into the battery which is buried in a   pretty annoying Place charge it up so I can get it  started take it back to my shop and fix the pull start one of the fit and finish issues right here let's see if it takes a charge it's  totally dead we'll let this charge for a   while and come back to it it's like 15°  and he's going to ride that thing like a   mile and a half to his house down the  road I told him you should definitely   do it cuz that's what good friends do  it must have been a treacherously cold ride how'd it go did you get arrested is it cold   lot of people looking at me was it cold  very cold Max what you doing buddy come [Music] on all right this thing's been charging a while  I'm going to throw the jump pack on see if it'll [Music] start so my buddy had a pretty good idea instead of  using just the regular cheap rope to replace   pole starts use synthetic winch rope cuz  it's rated for like 2500 lb okay I got it   all back together uh this kind of broke  and then I had to find another one and   that spring came apart which is pretty  annoying so let's put this back on the machine okay the postar is working but now magically   the battery's charged so I'm  just going to leave it for now really doesn't need to be that [Music] long okay today while working out here I'm going  to be using the ecoflow max this is a solar   battery bank I got I really like the portability  of this thing it's super quiet so I don't have   to listen to a generator run and since it's sunny  out I can take advantage of basically free power   so I'm going to be using this to charge all my  batteries and stuff today while I'm working here   this whole floor is pretty pretty bounc it's  framed with just logs and that's not really   acceptable anymore so unfortunately I have to take  tear this floor up but I have a couple ideas I'm   going to try to save some of this for a project  just due to reality and time constraints I have   to be very realistic about how much of this I  save because it takes a lot of time to save it   and then you got to store it and then you have  to do something with it in a reasonable amount   of time so it doesn't get ruined so I'm going to  shut up and get to work what do you think about   this buddy what do you think about that hole right  there that seems like it shouldn't be that way huh [Music] [Applause] [Applause] there's another shoe old hand crank that's pretty awesome an ashtray maybe that's interesting [Applause] [Applause] so this beam here is solid and the band beam  out there is solid and these I put in to keep   it from falling on my head while was working  in here the staircase is actually suspended   right now which will have to change and that's  a loadbearing beam so directly below that there   will be another beam all the way across with  floor joist running this way to [Applause] intersect [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] transp [Music] [Applause] [Applause] that's how you do [Music] that [Music]   you can kind of see here how rotten this is like [Music] that's yeah I could probably break that that and you know those beams you  could go underneath and replace them   but the subf floor's got issues kind  of widespread and you can't fix that   without taking the floor up so I know like  people are going to have a a huge problem   with that but to do this right this floor  needs to come up and I'm saving a bunch of   this floor and I'm going to do something  cool with it at the end of the [Music] project [Music] [Music] I [Music] somebody should probably fix this huge hole in my Foundation well that looks a lot different I don't  really know if it shows up on camera but yeah I   mean the place is old but the frame is solid  there you know this is this is tot totally fine   to rehab and these are hand hun Oak beams roughly  8x8 the walls are framed out with 4x4s and that's   why everybody thinks that it wouldn't last this  long is because they're not used to seeing stuff   built like this if you took a house that was  built in like 2000 they're pretty much falling   down already 23 24 years later you know that 8  by8 Beam with the supports in the center here   it's only spanning 12 ft you know what's a what's  a 2x8 span rated for the problem is everybody's   concerned about having stuff look like it came  out of a Pinterest board instead of making stuff   to last all right we got some more cleaning up to  do obviously there's a huge mess in the basement   I think I'm going to let my buddy clean that up I  don't really want to do that hopefully he he wants   to man it's a good thing this sistern was here  I probably would have fallen into the basement what do you think Buddy what do you think where did most of the floor go you come over here it's all right buddy it's all  right come here come here come here   come here buddy there you go where did  most of the floor go buddy what do you think what do you think I don't know about all this like I can't go up there this looks kind of weird basement and then the stairs just they're gone those stairs are actually being held up  with gravity right now so actually these stairs   are suspended there's nothing I mean I guess  they're kind of sitting on that board but that's   not really doing much they're mostly hanging from  these up here all right let's keep moving forward here so I'm back out here a few nights  later let's get this mess cleaned [Music] up [Music] oh idiot some idiot knocked my generator  over can we expect power restored   anytime soon now I got to put in a  claim to have my power turned back [Music] on man after all this and the cabin didn't even burn down the side of that thing  glowing all that's looking a lot better this is what today's going to be like yep that's good all right get slide over drop I'd rather pick it up two of them oh you want to go with twos okay we do three not that just on what do we got's 10 loaded down secure let's go do some framing back to the cabin so the first thing we  got to do is build the beam for that so we're   going to take measurements get the beam lammed  up and nailed together we'll get it in and set   leveled installed we'll also have to cut the end  of this beam out so that obviously we can run past [Applause] it oh my God are you drunk when you cut that [Music] at you come here hi look  at you look at you hi buddy hi you're   pretty shy huh hi puppy what's your  name Coco huh Coco Coco what's that   one's name Sparkle are you serious  Sparky hi what your cute puppies that Bo look weird did it bother you if I talk  while you talk yes so this is a glue lamb beam   so it's a 2x8 a piece of plywood and a 2x8  glued and screwed together that'll be the   beam that goes on the outside foundation  wall okay so we got to Lop the end of this   beam off so we can put the new beam in and  safety is always the number one priority here wait a second [Music] [Music] more this way oh go man this thing's heavier than it looks you got it make it nice and thick buddy are you supervising Lee okay the  laser level is set up over there shooting a   line over here so we know how high we have to  bring this side how high we have to bring that beam that's so we got the this beam is level now for the  mo it's it's as good as it's going to get it's   an old house but the important thing is is  that that beam is way stronger now because   we have the glue L beam and then grks is like  8 in grks right into the outer beam which is   like solid oak so yeah and it's sitting  on both Corners over here and down there   so that's over the foot that's totally solid  and now we could pour a wall underneath that   and it would be better than it was when  it was brand new let's get rid of this beam do I get a battery [Music] finishing up the second beam [Music] man that's perfect what do  you think are we doing a good job you go that way a lot yeah  not okay but not you said a [Music] lot [Music] check that out why don't you  you know you could there's a tiny   little bounce but we'll put post  under there to take that [Music] out okay so I have to go up those  stairs and cut those boards from   the top down and hope that it doesn't fall on me [Music] okay why are you doing that what all right that's the one you needed to cut well I live here now still better than that before I take the screws out hold on hold on hold on hold on wait  wait wait wait wait hold on oh oh real bad what do you think Max like these humans is this maybe  the dumbest thing you've ever seen   buddy is that up high enough  yeah cuz it's going to settle I know slowly we need a kick on a kickstand on the other  side buddy what do you think what do you think Buddy look at that like brand new cookie go get some food max he's got it he man hot he found it you want cookie buddy I can't  give you a cookie the internet will lose their mind so starting from that corner we're  going to pull 16 in on Center lay out all   the way across here and install  Joy hangers so we can set joist in three [Music] [Music] [Music] ouch [Music] [Music] [Music] I could got on camera why  there's so much stuff down on the   floor you try to stand on any of it to use  it as a ladder and just moves all over the   place it's it's kind of annoying we got  the floor in though look how nice that looks it's going to be awesome [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] so wrapping up another day of work  on the cabin here the entire floor   is reframed he's putting the last joist hangers in everything over here is  done this is all done [Music] [Music] a [Music] okay at the moment I'm at a standstill I'm waiting   for an inspection on this floor so  we're going to go do a couple things upstairs so these are rafter ties they're like not quite  an inch and a half by like like one by four yeah   they're like they're like the old true one bu  so I want to replace them with 2x sixes so that   it's stronger and with doing that I can get away  with raising them up just a little bit so you have   to set the laser level up at that end to get one  corner at a perfect height all the way way across   and then we'll put the level on them and level  them across this [Music] way as it turns out I   don't actually know the right way to do this so  I did a little bit of math made a few mistakes   cut a couple of boards wrong but in the end we  figured it out and it came out stronger than   it was before and having a little extra Headroom  is going to be really nice in the future [Music] [Music] all right that job's done we raised  the ceiling uh probably about 4 or   5 in so that gives a lot more Headroom  in here and these are much stronger for   as supports for the roof I'm pretty  happy with how that turned out looks nice okay we've been working out here for  a while getting a lot of stuff done   and there's messes that just kind  of keep piling up so we got this pile got this pile that we're slowly  burning through and then like all this stuff and all this stuff so I got this trailer  that I picked up in one of the last videos   super cheap I want to load this thing up with  the mini with all this junk and get it out of here I need to get this trailer out of the  way every time I move this trailer with a   skid steer I end up ripping that stupid jack  off so hopefully it doesn't break this time [Music] [Applause] for okay these these brackets here get in  the way anytime I try to get stuff out   of here so I want to carefully  take this one off and this one [Music] here that went perfectly [Music] look at this this trailer is like falling  apart and I have no idea why should be able   to carry way more weight than that I guess  let's get this thing unloaded all I don't   have a strap or anything to tie that down so  I'm just going to try to drive it to the burn pile now I'm stuck right at the top of the [Music] hill oh yeah [Music] [Music] yeah [Music] 0:49:55.520,1193:02:47.295 [Music] well I mean I mean I guess it made it  most of the way just like disintegrated oh I see the problem look at these crappy   welds that's why it fell apart  this wasn't this wasn't built right you know I paid like $200 for that  trailer I expected a lot more out of it that's looking a lot better it's nice to have things  cleaned up I don't like garbage   laying everywhere I hate trash left around  like all this stuff needs to get picked   up cuz this is just going to blow around  and look terrible you know and the worst   thing would be if that got on somebody  else's property like that's not their garbage you know I wouldn't say that's overloaded all right this little spot right  here there's kind of some dirt piles from   when I pushed this road out like a bunch of  years ago and there's a couple trees in here   I'd like to just clean this brush area up  we've been burning here and uh I'm kind of   liking doing live streams right here with the  fire going so let's get this cleaned up real [Applause] [Applause] quick [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah yeah that's looking a lot better so we got  all that scrap wood picked up all the junk   wood that from trees and stuff that I  cut down that was alongside the trail   and then we cleaned up this little L I'm  kind of setting this area up to do live   streams um I've done a couple of them and  people seem to kind of enjoy them I guess   so this will be I guess the live stream area  we'll just set up a couple chairs keep the   bonfire going and hang out all right uh a  few days later here back to put this floor down got a little more framing to do for  this wall and upstairs Let's Get Right to [Music] Work [Music] yeah [Music] he yeah but this way I hide where people can't see me what hold that [Applause] Perfection it's all that impact [Music] had [Music] d [Music] okay we're at the point where we're going to slip   a sheet underneath the stairs so  I don't know let's see how this goes hey that's too far ready for the help they not though that's going to make a big smearing mess right R strap for ster lifting strap  as I like to call them hello y extending myself there oh the strap's in there is that tightening up do it  again step on that no step it's   not the stairs step on that corner  to your left yeah see it's stuck [Applause] there over there am I go on that seam over there let's go right oh yeah [Music] [Applause] all right that is all done  the entire floor in here is done go back behind the stairs looks really nice so this entire subfloor  is glued to the floor joist and then screwed   every joist inside of the sheet has four  screws so there's uh doing math what is   there 1 7 * 4 there's at least 28 screws  on every full sheet still should be more   than sufficient to hold this all down I  can't wait for the first person to tell   me that nails are better than screws I guess  let me put a nail in a board and a screw in   the board and then you see which one pulls  out easier all right framing is next on the [Music] list [Laughter] uhoh it's like 30° out so right now  we're working on framing this wall   right here here is where the door  is going to go now we install the   vertical studs as well as a king and Jack  system and a header where the door frame is perfect [Music] I mean that's even perfect that  way you know this house was built   however many hund and whatever  years ago and it's all [Music] excellent [Music] here down what are you thinking  what are you thinking huh is it   up to your standards she's like I'm  happy a floors here go check it out   go check it out go check it out  buddy go check it out go check it out so extra that's the end of that tube no can you hold the camera so I  can [ __ ] this one or glue this one well if the upstairs falls down you know why   first person to donate 100 bucks  we'll write your name in the wall somewhere you like the house what do you  think about the house project is it coming   along nicely yep did you go upstairs  you go check out the [Music] upstairs [Music]   and that wall is all framed up so generally you  would put a top plate in um that's really when   you build the wall on the ground and then  you stand it up in place to hold everything   together and obviously new construction but I  mean there's no reason to put a top plate in   here and if we had put a top plate in it would  have actually dropped the header another inch   and a half so we kind of would have lost head  space in the doorway so this is absolutely fine   and it transfers the load from that beam directly  down to that beam underneath it which is the new   beam that we built and you know if it looks  like screwing all this stuff and gluing all   this stuff is excessive it's probably excessive  by today's standards you know when they built   this house however many hundred or whatever  years ago nobody stopped and said I wonder   if we should do it so it's a little cheaper they  built it so it would last a long time and it has and for the next guy to remodel this [Music] place uh how do you do an and sign I don't know plus idiot oop put it together mail I [Applause] know okay so the last bit of framing that needs to   be done is the walls that were here  we're going to replace them they're   obviously structural so we're going to get  those installed right [Music] now [Music] [Music] [Music] down [Music] n [Music] all right that's all finished so that'll  just be a knee wall kind of thing it'll make it   feel much bigger in here open concept open concept  ship lap and recess lighting it's all you need to know all right that's going to wrap up the framing  portion of this project obviously there's   still a lot of work left to do we're going to  keep right on going but I'm happy to have the   new floor the new wall down here and the wall  upstairs I just wanted to thank everybody for   watching the channel seen huge growth recently  um I'm glad people like watching this kind of   stuff I I love the interaction I get with the  audience we've done a few live streams and a   lot of people seem to enjoy that I have a ton  of fun getting on the live streams and talking   to you guys from around the world and just the  the conversation that kind of comes from that is   generally pretty entertaining and I have a really  good time with it so if you guys are interested   in those more uh keep an eye out I don't do them  regularly just it's kind of a last minute thing   when I have a chance to do them all right the  last thing I want to discuss is I have a 1936   Buick Coupe it's actually my dad's first car  so this car has sentimental value to me I am   looking for mostly another YouTuber who's kind  of in that car space that's interested in taking   on a project and we can work out the details  if you want to contact me on this my email is   contact 99 projects gmail.com I would again I'm  only looking for a collaboration with another   YouTuber who is in that car space and is looking  for a project that they can take on and complete   what I need from start to finish and I'd be  happy to discuss the details of that in an   email and with all that being said I'm going  to wrap this video up thanks everybody for watching okay so I've been using this ecoflow for  a while now and they asked me to do a video on it   so I'll go into some details more than 50% of  power outages in the United States result from   severe weather events like storms Cyclones  blizzards and wildfires here at the cabin   and my shop I'm completely off grid this could be  inconvenient and annoying for a long time now I've   used a Harbor Freight gas generator and up until  recently that fit the bill a few months ago I   received the ecoflow Delta 2 max the ecoflow Delta  2 max is a 2400 W gas-free solar generator ideal   for home backup and replacing 2,000 wat gas power  generators gas generators create many physical   and environmental issues including pollution  from fumes and sound the inconveniences of   storing gasoline and maintenance as well as their  unsuitability to be used indoors as a powerful   2400 wat solar generator Delta 2 max solves  these issues achieving the same result as a gas   generator of the same size 2,000 Watts what really  sold me on the Delta 2 max is its lightweight   rugged frame and portability as well as its  Simplicity as my channel name 99 projects implies   I'm a busy one-man band I don't have time to  constantly run to the gas gas station keep gas on   hand or keep up with oil changes and maintenance I  also don't have hours to spend researching how to   build an off- grid solar power system from scratch  much less the time to execute that undertaking   ecoflow has done this and made it extremely  simple I'm pleased to partner with ecoflow and if   you click the link in the description and use my  code you can get an additional 5% off all ecoflow products
