I Bought A Lexus LS460...

[Music] so I did something I bought a car sight on scene only through pictures and videos on the internet it is paid for and I'm going to pick it up in Long Island all right so it's currently just about 7:30 I left the house around 700 a.m. it's a Saturday and I am just cruising in this rental now you might be like is that a Pacifica Minivan and unfortunately yes it is because that's all they had and I was just trying not to make a scene and just try to get out of there and get a rental car I didn't want to have to go somewhere else I got a pretty good deal and this thing actually gets like 27 m per gallon it's really not that bad like I was like ah minivan this is going to suck but honestly the carplay works great sounds good you know the display is used it to read it's nice and smooth it has like some good pickup and power and uh yeah not too bad it feels like you're driving just like a car pretty much we have a pretty long trip it's about 4 hours uh we have about 3 hours and 30 minutes left of course that could change at any time because of Long Island traffic you got the JFK airport and all that it's going to be a rough one so I I budgeted 5 hours to get there and then get the car and 5 hours back I'm pretty South as far as Pennsylvania's concerned like I'm I'm closer to Maryland if anything just going to cruise listen to some tunes and in the meantime I can tell you about the car I've done so much with the Lexus IS I'm I think I'm done with that platform it's a little small especially because I have a family and if I need to bring my daughter somewhere back seat's just not very big I really like the GS I like the V6 and that's kind of what I started looking at and I I was looking at like a 2013 GS 350 my friend had one and really liked it and then I started looking at LS 400's 430s eventually brought me to the LS 460 wanted the 2013 plus because they fixed a few issues but they also you got some more better Tech and just a little bit more modern and I found one but of course it's not going to be close to me just the cars that I that I want are just never convenient and that's just how it goes sometimes I'm getting a 2013 Lexus ls460 all-wheel drive I originally wanted the rear wheel drive but I think all-wheel drive will just be better for our uh Northeastern conditions to have something comfortable with a little bit of power it's like 360 uh very similar engine to the ISF it's not the same but it's it's similar it has a lot of features I was looking for in a comfortable car and the color scheme was right so I'll show you that once we get there but the big kicker is this car has 23,000 miles something like that we'll see once we get there I just really wanted to get back into another Lexus and I think this is a really cool way to do it on a platform that I didn't find many videos about the ls460 just not a whole lot of content on on and I think I'd like to outline my ownership experience anything I need to fix upgrade Etc and just like that we're in the new vehicle the 2013 Lexus LS 460 all-wheel drive I'm here in Long Island I picked up the car at the owner's house I'd already paid for it so we got the title we got everything done I borrowed a dealer tag from a friend so we are all legal and good to go there and yeah now I'm going to get some lunch and then we can start the drive back well here's the interior I mean pretty standard Lexus stuff for about 10 years ago and yes it does have 213,000 Mi that is a lot but that's part of why I got it and the price was lower and everything and you know it's a little worn it's well- loved um but it it's comfortable it still drives great it's comfortable uh oil was just changed radio had been updated um interior is relatively good condition we got the heated and cold seats we have Eco normal on sport it does have like a good amount of power I think it's 360 horsepower with the V8 the all-wheel drive is nice it feels smooth I haven't tried sport mode yet but I'm I'm hoping to here soon we got cup holders and uh you can kind of see how it works it does have a heated steering wheel has the big back seats that are heated um and then it also has this shade so it's a really cool a lot of lot of nice luxury features for an older used car it does have the LS 500 Wheels that's pretty nice and then it also has the upsport bumper this is wet right now but this was replaced oh man it's just so smooth then we have remote start as well and uh we'll lock it up here holding mirrors when you lock it pretty cool all right and now it's like the 4-Hour drive home we'll see how much traffic we hit got my uh Prime ice pop and this thing is smooth trying to drive it nice and conservatively save some money on gas it was like $98 to fill up up here with 93 decently sized V8 but man it is smooth I'm really enjoying driving it it was going very well until it wasn't under heavy acceleration from an Easy Pass toll it went into lip mode the check engine light flashed and I got some codes it looks like there's a cylinder misfire on three and six so I'll dive into this once I get back to my shop bud so it's actually the next day it's still raining like crazy outside but I wanted to kind of show you a closer look at the ls460 so I have the hood popped here in my shop I'm actually doing some more Renovations so if you've been following along with all this it's changing yet again here is the ls460 on the way home I actually got a code for a cylinder 3 misfire so I'm going to go ahead and clean all the ignition coils kind of check all the spark plugs and possibly replace them I got some new ones it's just kind of how it goes with a used car uh you're going to run into issues especially with the mileage for the mileage it's really really clean interior again and like now that it's in direct light I got it the whole way home from Long Island that was like I don't know over 200 miles the lights look great it's very smooth other than the little misfire so I'm going to do some spark plugs on it and we'll hope that it's all good to go after that I will say this car is very smooth it drives super nice it's very quiet with cruising uh it's very luxurious I've always wanted that experience I got you get a little bit with the is the ISF is a little bit more stiff and sporty um other lexuses are kind of dull this is right in between so you get that that like Smooth feel but you can still step on it and you get that like V8 Rumble with the all-wheel drive it's just it's really cool it's best of both world I was one of the luxury boat and I think this is the way to go so 2013 over 200,000 Mi and we're bringing the 350 plate back yes it's not a 350 it's not the is 350 or any of the 350s it's a 460 but that's the plate I had and it's a custom plate I like it 350 is just kind of funny especially since it's a 460 and under the hood we have a very interesting like intake system pulls air through here it's dual goes to the air cleaner and then I believe once it goes through the air cleaner it comes back out into the uh throttle body so that's interesting a little different we're going to check the uh condition of these we do have two math sensors it looks like one is kind of unplugged or at least like unhooked so we got toix later I have a bunch of stuff off and uh we can kind of start to see some of just kind of the wear the regular wear on the vehicle cuz it is I mean there's some rough spots it's it is 10 years old it's lived its life in New York where it snows and it's just kind of what happen happens also drop this had to grab that got to have your magnet tool it's just a lifesaver and here's some of the parts that were on here uh the panels and stuff so I'm just going to go ahead and make sure every connection is good and there's no issues here and then I can hopefully do the spark bugs all right so I took all this out cleaned it now we're putting it back I replaced two spark bugs we'll see if that fixes the little issue that I had and yeah just going to put all this back in and take it for drive and here we are again in the LS 460 it's a little less rainy here which is nice it's just driving nice and smooth even in sport mode I did replace those spark logs and it's still having a cylinder 6 misfire so it's either going to be injectors or a ignition coil I'm going to start with an ignition coil and we'll go from there that's just kind of how it goes with these used cars sometimes I did get it for a pretty decent price I don't mind putting a little money into it it's just obviously you don't want one that's a money pit so far so far it's so comfortable and nice to drive this is my second day having it it was kind of cool to work in the engine bay to see how everything's set up so I can become more familiar with it because it's one of the only kind of lexuses like this so we do have this up here on the lift and I was just kind of looking underneath uh it is pretty clean this is dented and pretty Rusty the oil fan so that's something we could replace that wouldn't be too hard and then there's actually a very very very small little leak kind of in the rear main seal area where the engine meets the transmission that's not really a huge deal especially on something with 200,000 Mi it's not not really worth pulling out the engine to replace a very small leak like that um other than that it's decently clean uh we have we have the cats and coming in from the back here have the O2 sensors have the cats up there and then it comes back to secondary cats and then we have the resonators then back to the mufflers and there's a lot of surface rust but not too bad and now that it looks all good it can be Pennsylvania registered and inspected [Music] so definitely drop a comment what do
