hey everyone so it's the next day after I made the video of installing new intake and it's been raining and I've been using a lot of power which is good but I'm noticing that I think the standpipe is in the wrong place where we've moved the intake and the air is now not getting out quick enough before it starts going down the pipe it does eventually but it takes a long time so I'm gonna just do an experiment just quickly moving the stand pipe say but to get very wet and I think it's gonna work sister right that's why the new intake can you sign for them to go here you can get the air up before it's down the hill I'm gonna disconnect this here what this cities where these fan parties finally it's my wrongfully but rather some point is there are two joining it and where did you know the Sand Point and we just see how that works about to get wet Bierko there there's a little feeler bubbling out [Applause] that's the present right the party boys in the brain [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] all right love you soon oh right that's fun huh so you can really see that server you know I'd just be disconnect it make the other side and Link it up again it was easier to go the other way around oh wow that's all work right see I saw them connected back up that's what you want to see we want to see for a bit of a standpipe on there feel very big one not Felicia [Applause] right now Philly you see if we can get with the air up I can hear the air coming out [Applause] is it down you know that was coming up right things we work a lot better so I got a slight leak at the bottom of that fitting but I sought out if this works but it looks like we're getting rid of the air much better now the intakes burping away so what we want pipes wood wobbling about till the air comes out we should see that start splashing out of there in a minute yeah bubbling ie getting out which is good see it you can hit something here and pretty [Music] yeah so getting out which is good so leave it to bleed see if it uh if it does it better okay we're just down at the turbine now just watching that as it fills up just see if it if we get any more pressure just let it I'm just gonna let it fill with everything off just see see how it goes so if we're around 25 psi that means we're about getting fairly close to where the standpipe is now and it's just down to the standpipe so we'll see how it reacts once it gets the standpipe we should see it really go up quickly because um because the air will be hard to get out easier it's finished filling blow would offer the exact same place it was last time so we haven't gained anything extra there wasn't any major air loss I don't think so this run it see how it reacts and go and see if there's much air coming up the standpipe really needs fit get a new motor for that so I can control that again the motor burned out needs to get better one [Music] okay well it's still bubbling away so I'm just gonna let it do its thing but it seems to working we're still getting air out of it and I'm almost at full power what I had before so I think it's working better we'll see intakes doing great I haven't cleaned that at all see ya where it's been bubbling the back prescience that's been clearing it's it's not a perfect test but it's AC it's working great basically it is it's clearing it's been right never before would run up from power for this long without me needed to clean it even with me clearing it using back pressure and stuff so it's working very well so far okay so the system has been bleeding for a while now so hopefully it will the airs out of it so I'm gonna walk up now and have a look can't run a full part s rains bide down this time of year there's not actually raining the stream will die down very quickly after that in the winter you know you get days and days after a good rain before it starts to drop but this time of year let's say it just drops straight away so I'm not gonna be out there for power test run it 400 watts at the moment which is one nozzle off so running it three cores so we go and see if there any airs getting in I suspect it probably is but it's only gonna be getting in right near the intake yeah so I thought I'd address something a lot of people are gonna ask why not just you know run more water through the turbine that's also an option you know I might drill out some of the smaller nozzles if I need more power at the moment I'm just trying to tune the system get the system working really well and the best way to do that is by getting the water that we've currently already using to have to keep the most amount of energy in it so once I have it to that point if I want more power I can drill out a nozzle get more power but yeah I'd like to get it all tuned in and be perfect first so the intake isn't getting blocked but define it's doing really well I haven't cleaned that that's been like that now for let's be honest I don't really know I haven't cleaned it since yesterday I don't think so it's doing really well and that's currently running 400 watts so that is many many many times better than the old one we're still burping some air through it should be bled by now the system so what that tells me is probably happening is I'm probably getting a vortex in there where the the pipe comes out fairly close to where the level of the water will be there might be a vortex sucking some air in there and then it's just bubbling out of there so it's not going far I think maybe like a battle over the top to break up the vortex in cases of vortex okay so where I put the intake and I've taken off the screws I hope you can hear me okay cuz I've got the cover on the camera taking off the plates on the front so I still got filtering but I can lift this up and see what's happening inside and exactly I thought what was happening is happening this air is pushing down this this is hauling pushing air into the pipe and it's very sucky bit of a vortex so you can see where that unity falls down is exactly where the pipe is going to be pulling that area so what it needs is some kind of thoughtfully across there so it spreads out so I guess in this epoxy didn't feel wedged in there then I only weighed you in Tibet and then whether we do it work we live like that it's helping a lot like heart of any air going down because I didn't want right this way okay just put it back together a little bit we've got the buttons in there and it seems to be doing a great job I can see the air not going down there now I don't see if there's air coming up sound one so look at that perfect we've got the water right up to where it's supposed to be and I can't see any air bubbling out of that at all that is perfect brilliant okay back off of the intakes check out how is going this is working it excellently you know because because we've got that piece next driving the waters really good really good really pleased so I'm not going to poke my hands down in there now it's running quite high float back soon hardly is a second and that I'm quite confident of sight one-handed yeah really good little improvement is a new temporary I'm dusting something better that is resist very pleased very pleased yeah let's say it's forcing that water up a bit more so it's cleaning that as well like those forests say the intakes need this unless you have separation notes okay everyone says a bit later in the day now had a bit more rain not quite enough to sustain it so he's dropping slowly but we haven't actually changed anything really which is interesting although the pipe is now draining a little bit but we saw four 84-82 at one point which is the same as it was before which is interesting because it which basically says that the air getting in wasn't really changing anything which is interesting unless I I'm definitely gonna add the baffle in permanently to the intake because it actually makes sense for it to be there because it can't be good for the air to gain it doesn't seem as you make a considerable effect at the top end at least but it does seem like a good idea to have it there anyway and oh oh yeah sorry the cat the cat just went running across the computer see it does seem to make sense to have it there so I'm gonna have it as a permanent feature because it also helps clean the screen as well yeah we'll just I'm gonna monitor that see what it does and just keep observing keep making minor changes every one so it is now next morning and the turbine is run from power you might just down that tree yes run full power all night so I'm just walking up there now to have a look at it it hasn't made any difference put in the battle in I think that might be it should make a difference at least a very small one but I think it's probably because there are more significant losses to friction because of like the tapering down near the manifold the any change I make up there isn't actually doing much so I think it is still a good idea to have it because they're getting the pipe just can't be good no matter which way you look at it even if we don't see rising power air bubbles going down the tube is gonna degrade the turbine quicker cause cavitation all kinds of the issues so we definitely want to keep air out so I think the battle is a good idea so I think we're gonna incorporate that into the design yeah the standpipe didn't make any difference moving that but it has made the pipe fill up worse so I'm actually gonna change that back to where it was but yeah so baffle incorporated into the design sorry I'm the out-breath morning walking uphill and I've got a cool thing coming that we're gonna change on the intake so I'm gonna be taking it out so I can make those changes when I take it out it's a 3d printed kind of screen thanks to a subscriber so yeah let's go and have a look at the hit intake and we'll have a little chat here we are at the intake the screen is sagged a bit because it's not actually connected so it's collecting more material than it would do normally and the water is jumping like this because it's where it's not actually connected on there so it's not a test of a of clearing but you can see that the battle is still working cuz he's pushing that water up let's have a look it's running quite high at the moment so I'm definitely not gonna put my hands in there yeah the battle is doing its job that's what we want to see I can't see a or a vortex getting sucked down in there that's perfect yeah I'm gonna leave that here for now that's a good test I'm gonna add a bathroom to it because I just think it's better like that and and we're gonna be adding fruit 3d printed Condor tiles to this working on that at the moment well emailing a guy who's working on it for me he's more accurate so yeah that'll be coming soon right that's gonna be end of video hope you enjoyed it thanks for watching
