YOU SOON. THANK YOU, CODY. 831 IS THE TIME CLEAN UP EFFORTS ARE UNDERWAY THIS MORNING AFTER HURRICANE OTIS LEAVES A PATH OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION ON MEXICO'S PACIFIC COAST. YEAH, THE CATEGORY FIVE STORM HAS KILLED AT LEAST 27 PEOPLE AT THIS POINT AND SEVERAL OTHERS ARE STILL MISSING. KELLY O'CONNELL IS LIVE IN THE LIVE CENTER WITH SOME NEW VIDEO SHOWING THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. GOOD MORNING, KELLY. GOOD MORNING. THERE IS A LONG ROAD OF RECOVERY AHEAD FOR THE GREATER ACAPULCO AREA. A POPULAR TOURIST DESTINATION, OF COURSE. AND IF MAYBE YOU HAD PLANNED OR YOU WERE LOOKING TO HEAD THAT WAY ON VACATION REALLY ANY TIME SOON, PROBABLY BEST TO RESCHEDULE AND MAYBE LOOK ELSEWHERE. LET'S START WITH THE POWERFUL VISUAL FROM SPACE. SATELLITE IMAGES HELP ILLUSTRATE HOW WIDESPREAD THIS DESTRUCTION REALLY IS. YOU CAN SEE ROOF AND WINDOW DAMAGE TO HOTELS, BUILDINGS, SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF DEBRIS AND SOME FLOODED ROADS AS WELL. ALL NEW VIDEO ALSO FROM THE GROUND SHOWS JUST A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE. BUT AGAIN, THE DAMAGE IS EXTENSIVE OF TREES ARE DOWN, WINDOWS ARE BROKEN ON THESE HIGH RISES. YOU CAN BASICALLY SEE THROUGH THESE BUILDINGS. SOME BUILDINGS HAVE COLLAPSED. IT IS TOUGH TO EVEN DRIVE THROUGH DOWN THAT ROAD BECAUSE ALL OF THE DEBRIS, OF COURSE, LITTERED ACROSS THE ROAD. IT MADE THINGS VERY DIFFICULT FOR VISITORS WHO WERE THERE HOPING, TRYING TO EVACUATE THE FLOODED BEACH RESORTS AND BUILDINGS WITHOUT POWER. DOZENS OF TOURISTS WERE FORCED TO WAIT FOR BUSSES JUST TO GET OUT OF THE CITY BECAUSE THE AIRPORT IS CLOSED AND WILL LIKELY BE CLOSED FOR WEEKS. MEANWHILE, RESIDENTS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT SLOW GOVERNMENT RESPONSE AS THEY STRUGGLE TO FIND FOOD, WATER AND SHELTER. OFFICIALS SAY MANY STORES HAVE BEEN LOOTED AND THEY'RE NOW WORKING TO RESTOCK. THE LET'S LOOK AT THAT TREE JUST UPROOTED AND THROWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. WE DID MENTION THE POWER OUTAGES. OTIS KNOCKED OUT 50 ELECTRICAL TOWERS, MORE THAN THAT, IN FACT, LEAVING OVER HALF A MILLION CUSTOMERS WITHOUT ELECTRIC CITY. NEW FOOTAGE SHOWS A COMPARISON. THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT RIGHT HERE, THE AERIAL VIEW OF THE CITY ON A NORMAL DAY COMPARED TO WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE THE NIGHT POWER WAS OUT. THERE'S THE NORMAL. AND YOU JUST SAW THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE AFTER THE STORM. THIS BY THE WAY, ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL STORMS ON RECORD FOR THAT
