Hunting Kangaroo in the Australian Outback - Call of the Wild

g'day mates welcome to the Emerald Coast was a terrible accent but g'day my going welcome to Australia Welcome to our beautiful Emerald Coast [Music] out here in the bush both the fauna and the floor are unique and fascinating to observe oh I'm Robert by the way just call him Robo well how do you sound like a tourist guide Robbo I'm Sophia sure this region is a beaut but it's also bloody fragile too true that's why we're stoked you're here to work with us [Music] you caught the right man for the job baby here we go what am I wearing dude what a fishing vest off Amazon for this I figured it kind of looked a little bit Australian but welcome back guys to the hunter Call of the Wild this is the brand new Australian DLC so we have just been dumped you off exactly anyway you're not far from my station why don't you climb the fire lookout tower that's close by and see for yourself from there you'll see clearly where things are Eastern gray kangaroo be careful could be tough to hit a vital organ when they're on the move okay things are gonna be different so yeah we've been dropped off here in the middle of the Australian desert we are here in the Emerald Coast and there is a lot to take a look at we've got a large map here up to the actual Coast itself I think we can find some interesting saltwater crocs and things depending on how far we want to venture but um this DLC came out for the hunter recently and to be honest I've really missed this game so we're gonna hop into it and see what kind of you know game and pests and things we can find I'm going to start with the lookout tower here got to get up top and take a peek see at the area see what we're working with I wish I had a good Australian accent unfortunately it's it's just not even past the point of passable just really getting the workout in find the work are they oh yeah this I mean we're gonna have the lay of the land though yeah apparently we got to work on our cardio a bit more but we have made it open this thing up and here we go survey the Lance let's see what we're gonna be hunting for that's one of the first things they think about overseas when they hear Australia it's arid and it can be tough out here especially after the bushfires in the last few years [Music] also a surprisingly Rich eco eco's home to heaps of unique and sometimes bizarre species so do we see anything out here Stadium up there then Harman gets settled in looks Mighty Baron out here I don't know what we're gonna be able to find in these planes I see a bunch of rocks I see some Rivers not seeing much in terms of whoa oh there's a kangaroo we've got an Eastern gray kangaroo oh he's laying down 345 meters I mean there's no way we could take a shot from this far away right we've got quite a bit of activity here we've got some feral ghosts everywhere one of the many species introduced by settlers some of them were released or escaped and became feral seems we aren't very good at keeping animals in their pens okay we're gonna head downstairs we're gonna see if we could find so we I mean do we do we want to kill the feral goats I mean it kind of makes me feel that they're very Majestic looking 100 oh he's taken off did he smell us he might have smelled us 170 meters can we take a shot from that distance we might I mean a feral goat we're probably gonna want I've got a 12 gauge shotgun a 2-2-3 descent seven millimeter Empress Magnum and a range Master 338 is our our big game rifle if we run into any Crocs or anything do we think oh yeah we missed I'm not sure where that bullet was going to end up going okay let's let's get down to the ground let's let's start a hunt here probably could have been a bit more methodical with that first shot and now pretty much the entire region knows we're here so let's just try to stick and move got a hunting lodge over here we can set up we can grab a four-wheeler we can kind of recollect ourselves I think that's our our plan is to go this way we got Coop here who's a good boy are you a good boy can I give you a uh I'll give you a a treat maybe oh yeah that's a good boy thank you for coming to Australia with me let's uh let's give him a treat there it is we're gonna be hunting the the biggest and The Baddest of Them All I'm hoping to take out some kangaroos today and then I mean we're gonna have to make our way to the coast ultimately I think our goal is going to be to get the saltwater crocs but that I'm assuming we're gonna be you know in water we're gonna need Rivers we're gonna need marshes maybe up here we're going to need to be closer to the coast close to the ocean so we'll see how it works out I mean maybe we can find some in here are these these are all connected so technically you could but a little bit less likely everything in Australia is trying to kill you so you could never be too safe there could be Crocs in there there could be snakes there could be giant spiders in these bushes that is something dude the spiders I was not ready for it and it's like when Chelsea and I went a couple years ago we went to Sydney we spent most of our time in Sydney and then we also went up to Cairns and we did the Great Barrier Reef and stuff but um we were not ready for the spiders like we were we were in cities for the most part we were not out in the bush like this and there were still huge like dangerous spiders everywhere there's you know they meme it online but Australia really is kind of a crazy place it's beautiful people were great I mean honestly if you're gonna live anywhere besides where we do like a different country it would probably be there but um you definitely have quite a few things that you aren't really used to some tracks up here hold on let's see what we've got Footprints of a feral goat going this way oh there there okay let's let's maybe try to try to work our way up on these guys I'm actually going to we've got some anti spray scent so I'm gonna go ahead and use that wind direction is in our favor it looks like they're working their way up that hill there I don't know I'm gonna say a coupe you sit you stay there buddy we're gonna try to work our way up on these these goats on the hill here we go 140 meters away we are getting closer he's posted up watching us they appear to be moving though Coop I thought you were staying cool lay down lay down lay down good boy you're scaring the goats off dude look at them up on top of the hill waiting for us all right I'm I'm gonna try to I'm gonna try to take a shot here I don't I feel like do we get him we had to have got them right do we see any blood splatter we've got a bunch of tracks here if we missed that shot I'm not sure how that's possible yes we've got blood splatter here okay wasn't the best shot then that looks like a very low bleed rate about 75 to 100 on the uh the health but we're gonna keep pushing we're going to keep looking another Blood splot going this way another one here still 75 to 100 percent I'm hope oh this one blood rate medium that's a good oh we got one let's go so I I think we might have hit two there and and one of them obviously was a bit better of a shot than the other one I'm gonna confirm this trophy let's go ahead and I'm gonna textronize him that's our first one first Kill from Australia so we're gonna lock that in we got it we have another one that's hit now I do feel bad about the the very low bleed rate I kind of want to try to go put him out of his misery careful as we come to the crest of this hill I can hear some animal calls eastern gray kangaroo is fleeing oh there he is a whole pack of kangaroo now the thing is that like what a lot of people what is what is he doing he's just bouncing around back and forth he's a little bit confused a little bit concerned we've got another goat here but I really try to I would love to try to get the kangaroo he's going away now I'm gonna try to track those but a lot of people don't know is that kangaroo are actually considered pests in Australia and you know that that's something that we were really surprised by when we went there I'm just I'm straight pushing headlong straight into the goats here which is probably going to scare the kangaroo off but we gotta we gotta make up some some time here but yeah it's estimated that kangaroo almost double the population of people in Australia and it's it's gotten to the point especially in recent years where they're considered pests I mean when we were over there I think it was like 2017 or something like that there was Kangaroo on almost all the menus which I was really surprised by another thing kind of unrelated is when we were in Finland recently they had reindeer on pretty much all the menus but um yeah kangaroo is like it's it's a pest they uh you know mess with the the local crops and they you know Farmers try to scare them off they're so abundant that it kind of messes with the ecosystem a little bit so they like it's another goat going that way I want to find some kangaroo I feel like the kangaroo are a lot more skittish than the goats I want to know where that pack went I don't see them anywhere anymore yes there's so many of them that it you know they're kind of harming local ecosystems they cause deforestation that you know they eat all the plants and tear up the ground and stuff so that that affects other birds and animals in the area and they've just ultimately kind of become pests Australia will give out hunting licenses and even reward hunters for the the number of kangaroo that you can bring in it's like highly encouraged for restaurants to serve kangaroo and stuff and it's uh it's weird because obviously they're very cute creatures and they're kind of like the um the the you know symbol of Australia in a sense but at the same time they're big time pests and and I mean it's even like if you guys see the video the guy that goes and fights the kangaroo it's probably one of the funniest videos I've ever seen the kangaroo like has his dog on a choke hold and he goes he's straight up like attacks it like punches it in the face it was great we've got more goats fleeing I want Kangaroo got a huge area of tracks here let's see what we're working with Footprints of axis deer also but I've never seen anything above 12. that's interesting so we're finding we're finding these little grounds and things this is an axis deer hot spot from three to six a.m we've got um a feral goat Zone we've got another Zone over here but we're looking I would love to find something to do with kangaroos oh Red Deer at 150 meters hold on get down get down chill chill I think we're gonna need a slightly oh I mean this this guy's the one if we can get the dough to move oh oh don't get spooked don't get spooked this guy might be the one hold on let me get our slightly bigger gun out here come on baby the whole group is moving hold on can we take it another shot I'm curious if we hit anything there we're gonna have to go check for some marks oh my goodness all right so we're getting some action kangaroos are gonna be a little bit tougher to find but we're getting a little bit of work in I I honestly dear I feel like are a little bit harder to find than kangaroo I don't suspect uh kangaroos are there there's more kangaroos in Australia than literally anything else so I feel like we're off to a good start here they ran this way oh man very low bleed rate well that's not what we were looking for I feel bad we haven't really been hitting our marks and we're the very low bleed rate is is a little bit inhumane travel I think we need to take our time we need to line up our shots and we need to be a little bit less let's try to hit him in the heart and the lungs somewhere where we're actually going to be able to put them down and put them out of their misery and and not leave him with a long injury that they're traveling for miles before they pass or they just end up have to very painfully heal from they kept going this way see him anywhere out here yeah I think they got away that was that was a mistake Trev you could have snuck up on it I mean the wind was at our back which is not what we wanted but we we should have played that a little bit closer love cresting Hills because oftentimes you can find stuff on the other side of it it's looking like that didn't happen in this case I'm envisioning we I mean let's let's focus on getting to the The Outpost here we're going to get across the road now we uh we were kind of a little messed up honestly I don't know how this happened but if we go to our perks our zeroing perk was not active and that's something that we wanted for all of those shots there so I think most rifles are zeroed at 150 meters to start so you you kind of check the distance on your thing like we see for example this this tree right here is about 144 meters so if we were if that was an animal and we were aiming at that with one of our our zeroed out rifles we would shoot exactly where the the crosshairs go which I think we were aiming a little bit too high but now that we've got our zeroing active you can see in the bottom right we can change it to 75 if they're a little bit closer or even 300 now if you're at 300 meters it's going to be a precise shot so we should have been using that we're gonna be fine we're gonna be okay I'm the deer I feel like we're a kind of a gift stumbled upon them didn't take advantage but that's okay oh my goodness we've got we've got some Kangas we have some Kangas there's no way that's a direct hit right there come on get ready for the follow-up shot wait why did I I shouldn't have reloaded I should not have reloaded I should not have reloaded they're they're the right distance here Trev I should not have reloaded we're gonna be fine let's let's try to go that had to have hit right there they were 150 meters we were zeroed out everything was perfect let's go baby that's what I'm talking about looks like this might be a nesting spot we got a hit but it's still not a ah no organs hit okay this is an Eastern gray kangaroo resting Zone from noon to 3 P.M and it looks like it went this way bleed rate is very low so that's not that's not ideal hey Siri where's the best spot to shoot a kangaroo Humane shooting and shot placement for Australian Farmers there's two primary areas the head Kill Zone and the chest Kill Zone base of the neck is the chest kill zone or if you're from the side just behind the shoulder base of the ear from the side and the head or in the front depends on the angle of the head uh okay so I mean about where you would expect to be honest I see him running off over there we're still following this this wounded one that we hit I mean I I would imagine they're they are pretty big animals the males can get up to like six seven on average 150 pounds so I I mean we've got a very low bleed rate we're about 75 on the health so I'm I'm gonna see this one through I'm gonna try to put him out of his misery but I don't know how effective that shot was trying to keep our head on a swivel not seeing them there's a red fox oh he's down to 50 to 75 percent he might be bleeding out we'll see part of me kind of hopes he makes it you can do it little buddy I I I mean even if they're pests even if they're tearing up the land and hurting other animals and causing erosion and stuff but it's it's hard to vote against a kangaroo right I mean they're they're just so cute I'm wondering if we're gonna get a peek at these guys at the top of this hill they hightailed it out of here they're gone we might I mean we found a good spot for him that nesting spot I'm sure if we camped that out let's let's try to be a little bit more methodical with our shots going forward I honestly I just I get excited dude the the adrenaline starts pumping and you just want to take the shot if you have it he's bleeding on the road oh oh I just started sprinting oh no stop it buddy stop it stop it stop it I mean we might be able to take a shot here I I don't want to take a shot on the run though I'm gonna try to do it legit that's that's the pack hey oh oh oh no no no no no no oh my God OH Close Range combat oh he's done I I feel really bad this this that was inhumane right there we we should not have to I got scared I thought it was time it's the same thing that we saw in that that video confirmed the trophy okay um that was a level 6 of 57 kilogram kangaroo who this guy is massive look at the claws like I mean they they look really cute right and they're you know they're kind of fat on the bottom and they look kind of silly but look at the claws on these things they would a hundred percent ruin your day if they wanted to I that that was just strictly reaction all right we're gonna we're gonna taxi that boy we're gonna keep him beautiful okay first kangaroo kill he I could have punched him in the face he snuck up on us that that was not good that the hunter becomes the hunted is our wounded boy still see another nesting Zone I don't see our wounded one though I'm imagining he's in this another red fox I'm gonna try to track down this group we're gonna see if we can get a nice clean kill that isn't missing all the vital organs or shotgunning them with birds shot up close I can't believe dude Coop you're a good boy thank you for letting me know you deserve not not stay give treat you you might have saved our lives there He barked and I wasn't sure what to expect and I that that was terrifying giant bipedal animal just there ready to throw hands oh my goodness yeah the whole crew came through here looks like this might be another nesting like resting type area I don't know if you call it nesting or resting but they're going to be very close let's mark this feed zone for feral goats though not not for the Kangas that we're hunting but they did come oh these are goat tracks okay well our Kangas definitely came through here to 390 meters away they're laying down this is our chance Trev whole group of them if we get within 300 we might be able to take that shot I'm going to crouch down let's let's be smart here this is our shot 360 meters all right we're just gonna try to I mean we can walk right I don't think they're gonna see us from this far away do we want to try try to take the 300 meter shot or do we want to try to get closer and go for the one I mean obviously the 150 is going to be a lot safer technically we don't have a great look on any of these guys yet because they're all and there's no no heads to be seen I feel bad they're all just vibing they're laying there enjoying the Australian sunshine and we're gonna go ruin a day or two winds coming from our right to left so they're not going to pick up on our scent we put our anti-scent spray anyway just gonna keep making our way down there maybe try to get over in this tree line over here break their Vision a little bit I think if we get to 150 that's going to be a safe play but I'm I'm I'm shooting and I'm not stopping I'm gonna try to take as many as we can I'm gonna get down oh we got coats over on the left at 150 we could take those if we want to we're not spooking them though so that's good as long as we don't spoot this group of Kangas we are close we're close we're close we're very close we're very close close close close what distance is he the knocks out he's at 139 oh he's okay he's he's Baron everything I mean we're about this 150 Mark if we could get a clear shot at somebody's head this one right here is at 136. no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no why are they moving oh we didn't get a chance to take a shot they're all like rolling around I can't get a clean shot I'm trying to be Humane about this we still have a shot we're still good he's about 150 away 175 160. this one's at exactly 150. all right I'm gonna go for a should we go for a back of the head headshot I'm just I'm just taking everything I can oh my god dude they're so hard to hit the heads are like little Peas on this giant rotund body that was I I just I had to I had to go for it you know sometimes you gotta shoot your shot oh patience is the name of the game and we don't have a lot of it no organs hit bro how are you where do you where are you supposed to hit this is this is genuinely very very difficult I I don't under like maybe we need to go back for the base the next shot is probably what we should aim for going forward we're getting so far away from our our hunting lodge but that's fine we're still on the trail the the blood and it's it's not looking good for him I think we might have had a better hit than what we had before but still not idea I think we may have just barely missed that first headshot that we went for so gonna have to line that up a little bit better next time it's it's genuinely very tough though not a feral goat Zone got a bleed I hit my gonna try to find him it looks I mean it says very low bleed rate but he is leaving a lot of splatters red fox is fleeing oh we found them and there they go again 142 meters right there hold on stay there buddy oh no no I don't want to take the shot about it we're okay I thought interesting so they're all going that way but this this bleeder he's not doing well and he went right he he left from the pack so I'm wondering if that's you know don't animals kind of do that when they know they're gonna die they're going up over that that hill over there we're gonna we're gonna keep chasing them we're gonna get one clean shot shoot dude I think we lost him we had him down to 25 health and then I I don't know if he healed or if he ran off or what but there's no more blood trail we just have the footprint Trails so let's go try to find another one 154 meters that's them okay they're a little bit further to the right than I thought no no no it said Cooper's healing no Cooper stay stay stay shut up this is our chance stay 130 meters I mean Trevor if you missed this he's literally sitting there scratching himself I don't know I'm gonna try to get over here in the bushes I don't want him to see us we're gonna try to try to put a bush in between us and them oh my gosh I'm so stressed because our our ranges are either 150 or 75 so we're gonna have to aim right in the middle I guess or or maybe put one 75 a name a little bit high or 150 name a little bit low I don't know what the best method of action here is dude they're coming this way that's a male right there I'm Gonna Change it to 75 we got to go for it that's gonna be our dude there's no way we hit her out of breath oh my gosh we for sure at least hit one there I don't know how that's not a head shot I I really don't I I'm at a loss we put it on 75 he was probably like 78 yards away and coming this way tried to put it right directly square at his face and it didn't hit him okay so we are hidden in a bush right now and it looks like we might have some coming it's not a very big big bush there's coup 150 meters right there oh they're definitely coming our way there's some sort of a ravine in between us and oh no dude I think poop might be part of the problem I keep telling him to stay and he doesn't stay I'm worried that he's the one that keeps giving us away we've got goats over there we've got goats and Kanga up on the hill but I swear every time we start to ooh oh those are just goats every time we get close ish I I swear that he runs out and then they start you know bleeding and warning everyone that we're here these guys have slowed down though only 182 meters are not too far away this is like a straight up not Geo documentary here we've got a red fox we've got these goats we've got the Kangas that have started lounging okay we might we might get another shot here gonna try to be as smooth and calm as possible Coop if you mess this up I'm literally I'm I I don't even want to say the things I'm going to do to you I'm actually gonna try if we I'm gonna go to our inventory sites I'm gonna put the longer Range four to eight by 42 site on this 223 I think that might help us out a little bit they're bleeding the goats are bleeding see what I mean though look at Coop up there they're moving a bit it's fine we just need a shot to open up oh here we go 125. all right this is it that's a double hit there's no way that was a hit honestly I think the increased scope is what we were looking for come on baby tell me that was a hit ooh albino hit him hit him hit him I mean this is not Humane but well I'm I'm going after albino baby we have to I don't know how the first one didn't just drop immediately dude I think we might be a little bit under okay no organs hit on the first one non-vital organ hit on the second one he's he's in bad shape dude it's almost night time where did he go is the question I I don't want to lose this that's droppings where where did the the blood splatter go get on this buddy let's uh track this right here you got it you're going this way please earn your keep today Coop come on I thought he went to the right I didn't think he went this way but we'll see oh nope he's right he went this way okay good job Coop let's go we 20 25 to 50 but the bleed rate is low that's fine he's he's gonna be done for we we got him we got now but there he is there's the body right there that's what I'm talking about we got one dude I don't know how we're gonna end up getting head shots though like I I really we're 100 gonna taxi that we're gonna keep that um I have no idea can we go back to the other spot I the first one that should have been an instant KO do we remember where that was it was back here somewhere it's dude it's so tough especially when you have multiple targets and you just start firing off I mean I feel bad we're just peppering these things but I guess you know I'm not a hunter so gotta do what you gotta do I would love one it's just like an instant down I might even take out our higher caliber rifle I know you're not supposed to use higher calibers but I I can't get them I I don't know what else to say we've been patient we have stocked we have waited for Our Moment multiple times and I I feel like I'm putting the Crosshair directly on them no organs hit just a small blood splatter there's not going to be much we're going to be able to do with this unfortunately I don't think but we could at least track the uh the pack I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna bring out the big dog the big boy rifle and we're this is like the Croc hunting rifle we're gonna absolutely blow somebody's brains out here we go we got some coming our way all right I shoot when did we take this shot though we're squared up what in the world oh a mating call that's a mating call and so we we got a little something something going on over here huh 180 180 160. I think we're gonna be able to go for it let's get our big boy rifle out right on the head he's dead that's what I'm talking about baby do not lose that Mark yes I I wonder so there's different classes of hunting if I go into our inventory here you can see when we have different ammo these are a class four um animals we've been using this 223 polymer tip bullet you could see down the bottom right it's classes two to four so four is kind of on the upper echelon of that I I think you know maybe that's why we're not getting one shot kills maybe we need something that's like a you know class four to six or whatever else what we just shot it with was our uh three three eight mag polymer tip which is recommended classes seven through nine but hey bring it a little extra Firepower to the the punches I it's better than bringing less you know what I mean instead of shooting that albino three times and him slowly bleeding out I mean getting the Quick One Tap that's where we want to be right throw our headlamp on look at this our first successful stock and full kill by itself this was a uh a female she was she was small it was the the biggest male that you you've ever seen in your whole life all right hope you guys enjoyed I'm gonna see you guys in the next one I think we really want to start oh wow okay this is the area that we did this is the whole map I think we want to start moving this way the scary mangroves of Australia here at like the the River delta as it goes into the ocean and uh I think we're gonna find some very scary beasts in there so I'll see you guys later thank you guys so much for watching peace out
