facts and knowledge about every single country we have covered everything in our video series but how do we decide which country to explain well we can use alphabetical order or we can even start with neighbor Hood it's like having a friendly neighbor with a fence shared with Austria Ukraine Slovakia Romania Serbia Croatia and Slovenia neighbor with Y lands the official language is Hungarian so if you're ever there and hear some strange R Sound Don't Panic it's just a local Hungary speaking Hungarian is considered a difficult language to learn due to its complex grammar a glutena nature and begins in the late 9th century when the Hungarian tribes led by arpad settled in the Carpathian Basin this is the birth of Hungary as a nation they established a powerful Kingdom that would go on to play a crucial role in European history now it's time for the Golden Ages of Hungary the Golden Age of Hungary during the reign of King maias corvinus in the late 15th century was a period of cultural flourishing military success economic Prosperity legal reforms and cultural exchange King Maas patronized the Arts making his court a hub of Renaissance culture under his leadership Hungary expanded its territory experienced economic growth and implemented legal reforms then we have another important Kingdom which was the Austra Hungarian Empire it was formed in 1867 when Hungary and Austria came together in a duel monarchy this Empire held sway over a vast territory and was a major European player but how about about the world war well they sided with the Central Powers including Germany and the Ottoman Empire in World War II Hungary initially aligned with the Axis powers but later attempted to withdraw and seek an Armistice with the Allies today Hungary is a parliamentary Republic with a democratic government Hungary follows a multi-party political system with a mix of political parties participating in its Democratic processes let's jump to its unique [Music] culture when we talk about Hungarian culture it's like peeling back the layers of a rich tapestry it's not just about loving family and Hospitality but also manners hungarians believe in proper etiquette and they appreciate it in return for example using someone's first name without permission may be considered too familiar or presumptuous oh and here's a neat tip if you feel a yawn sneaking up on you it's considered polite to cover your mouth but Hungarian culture is like a treasure chest with more than just manners many hungarians have a unique perspective they often have a sense of somberness and group of people another Charming tradition is the celebration of Easter with sprinkling Monday it's like a playful water fight boys sprinkle water on girls and in return they get painted eggs or small gifts it's a fun way to welcome spring and celebrate Easter and finally we get to the wonderful part of Hungarian culture the food they've got some famous traditional dishes like por cult a hearty meat stew hangi palach Chinta a Savory crep filled with meat and gundle palach Chinta a sweet treat filled with nuts and chocolate sauce it's like a delicious feast that completes the Hungarian cultural experience Hungary has 1,500 Spar typically featuring Roman Greek and Turkish architecture can you believe that Hungary has 13 Nobel Prize winners as it is known in addition to being the birthplace of wine making Hungary is also the birthplace of scientists unlike many other languages Hungarian nouns don't have grammatical gender this means there are no masculine or feminine forms for nouns which makes it more gender neutral the oldest Metro in Europe was started in Hungary in 1896 Hungary is one of the best birding areas in Europe almost 400 bird species breed here and the last one Budapest is home to the first ever public park zoo in the World opened in [Music] 1866 Hungary has quite a few tricks up its sleeve it's not just a country it's a spa country the water in Hungary is like a warm hug from Earth it's packed with minerals that do wonders for your health people from other countries visit Hungary just to soak in these fantastic Spas but that's not all Hungary is also home to Europe's largest synagogue it's like a grand historical treasure now picture this Hungary is like a Living Museum of stunning architecture the country is dotted with unique castles and churches that are one of a kind it's like stepping into a fairy tale oh and we can't leave out the spice of life paprika it's made from those sweet red bell peppers and adds a burst of flavor to dishes and don't forget the wine Hungary has a deep wine tradition with famous wine wines like tokaji and Bull's blood wine enthusiasts adore exploring the Charming wine regions and last but not least Hungary is known for some amazing inventions they're the brains behind the Rubik's Cube that puzzling Cube that people love to solve plus they made the ballpoint pen that's enough for this video we
