The following submission statement was provided by /u/BigJobsBigJobs:

Submission statement: In this video, the physicist Sabine Hassenfelder presents a brief summary of the existential threats humanity faces, from nuclear war and climate change to asteroid impacts (volcanos are way worse). She takes on the subject(s) fairly dispassionately and with a bit of humor. But this is science, so she reaches no overarching conclusions.

I think that human extinction is collapse-related.

Disease, War, Famine, Death.
First is the Global Disease, ongoing as the Third European War officially begins, followed by supply line disruptions and more rapid disappearance of fresh water, except in flash floods, then the Equator Band Mass Die-off starts from the combination of disease, war, drought and famine. It is Irreversible Chaotic Global Warming and is just simple thermodynamics in a closed system, primarily the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics which basically states "There is always a price to pay". The Wheel of Samsara is a female dog in heat.

I stopped watching her when she said that microplastics were a great way of storing carbon...... Scientists, stay in your lane of expertise, please.

Perhaps about a hundred billion humans have lived and died over the Millenia from our initial evolution, for them we are extinct, they have no fucks to give.

Itโ€™s only very, very lately that we have even considered the possibility of our eternal demise. Humanity should be concerned about the activities right now that actually cause, not only ours but the extinction of any creature.

Otherwiseโ€ฆ.what will be will be.
