HUGE Abandoned Volkswagen Collection Found after 40 YEARS!! | 1960 VW Beetle | Turnin Rust

uncle contacted my dad the other day he had found an old maverick car that he's interested in mine it needed a little help picking it up we had this trailer we were going to go ahead and go on out there see if we could give him a hand but supposedly there's a lot of other old vehicles out there he said a lot of stuff that just looked right up our alley so we're just gonna head out there kind of check out what they got maybe some of this stuff's Bible maybe we can bring something back home with us [Music] [Music] [Music] howdy is this so maverick this is it cool car man yeah no there's no motoring it is there J I don't think so I say no kiddin I couldn't get the hood up on it so I'm scared of tribe oh I don't know what's gonna be up under there I don't think so boom job there it sounds like a Kevin job yeah no motor in there yeah yeah you don't see a whole lot of Mavericks anymore though no and it's got the 9 inch rear yeah yeah it's got the night here's what I'm thinking you know there's no rod or there's no toy I'm a no title on it yeah I'm probably going to go eat my BB yeah yeah yeah yep you can rot it or drag it or whatever you know take you down the track later on or something yeah I brought another wheel it should be that same pattern I know you said it was missing a wheel saw right and it's got two lugs on it yeah problem it's a five lug or yeah yes it should work small boat pattern yeah I'm sorry I'm Lance I'm Frankie I'm white he said you might have some other old vehicles out here yeah we've got some of brother we've got some 51 and a lot of now notice the Volkswagens I'm a Volkswagen yeah kind of a Volkswagen fans yeah well we've got plenty of those for you yeah and uh even got a Volkswagen Jetta with a diesel engine already you interested in that yeah kind of a package deal maybe yeah cool or is that two more bugs over there yeah yeah yeah one of them growing in between Kurt's oh yeah yeah I mean it's gotta have one small sapling cut off just get you there yeah I like to find on a little bit of work you know they've been sitting there while you're gonna have some work with those with all of this yeah but now the 50 once we've got a 51 in the shed my dad bought you know he's planning on restoring it before he passed away but you know of course it never got around to it yeah but I think it'd make a great great car to fix up mm-hmm it's got a it's got everything with it - we've got boxes of all the decals this original hubcaps everything and of course you know that my 302 under mmm yeah I got a 302 come out of a my camera what your model 87 or something fuel-injected Thunderbirds oh wow yeah that's got like a Mustang front end under mm-hmm care if I care if I check them out you got you say the little Jetta it's it's got a diesel it's got a diesel in it uh my dad parked it I've had some fuel problems or something going on with it injector uh-huh or something and he just he just parked it and never got around to fixing it you know yeah but it got about 52 miles a gallon whatever isn't running yeah oh wow yeah these things are cool man yeah there's some neat until they've been sitting there a while - yeah they've been sitting there a long time that's classy close to 40 years oh yeah I believe it yeah and ones uh I think a 60 and ones a 65 I cannot no oh yeah I'm not familiar with him enough to man it's just like this is the 65 and this is the 60 though yeah and my dad he bought them re bought this one are one of them no it was almost new you know back in the day mm-hmm man he loved him but uh we got we got one of them stuck when I was a little boy going to the pastor's house got it sideways in the ditch so you know the old yeah I went to one side so it burnt to other piston up but we did make it home yeah they're pretty tough yeah that's the thing about these old Volkswagens they're pretty pretty bulletproof he'll go through anything they're pretty tough man it's so cool just seeing them see I know I know it's it's kind of sad but it's also really cool just finding them untouched setting like this no actually uh for me it'll be a happy state because yeah my dad you know passed away and he'd have done anything to see these things restored I mean he loved those wagons bugs beetles he loved them yeah as you can see he's got quite a few yeah so yep so yeah they had to see one or two of them or three of them whatever get restored man I'd I'd make his day I guarantee it so as far as Volkswagens stuff is this pretty much all you got these two here and then no one's out there no we've got what's called a thing over here oh yeah no votes wagon thing oh yeah you don't see those no you know yeah I'm definitely interested in checking one and go check that out already it's one of those vehicles it's it's it's kind of ugly but I guess that's what makes it so cool yeah I guess that's how it got its name it probably is the thing yeah yeah it's not a it's not a show get er yeah oh yeah of course we've got that 80 model forward they're also for sale he bought it brand-new in 1980 mm-hmm I think he gave k-member 66 68 hundred bucks for it back then yeah but yeah this thing here he had planned on fixing it up too but you know he had a few too many projects going on and just never got around to it right but she's got a pretty clean old body owner mmm-hmm and she's not rusted out too bad yeah got a Jacuzzi in the battle jacuzzi in the back with a lot of mosquitos and we've got an engine that'll fit right in here or fit in any of the other Volkswagens this one here is not not running at all no and uh they're like to say it needs a lot of work yeah oh it's cool man I like Sal I love anything that you don't see every day yeah we're definitely not gonna see one of these every day yeah these are I'm not saying they're worth any money or nothing but they're just kind of rare mm-hmm to find one and even you know even a talk like he's like doing it even with a door open it-it's hard to find one like that mm-hmm it's cold my hell we've got a nice little engine to go in any of them oh yeah yeah we're gonna go take a look it is my dad bought it at an auction first and bumpers too right yeah yeah those bumpers go with them go with the bugs too I've got all kind of parts for stuff uh-huh and here's the engine oh yeah yeah as far as I know but when he bought it they said it was they said it would run but of course who knows you know turns over it turns over yeah my dad always kept everything turned over yeah you know even though it's set up for 35 years or whatever he he would cook them turned over to keep them right yeah try to save them you know mm-hmm it's always pretty common if they said any Locker yeah you know well you mentioned you know possibly doing I mean I like said I'm kind of a Volkswagen fan and right now the things really cool love the story of them bug setting off for 30 years it's Cobra and my dad loved them yeah he loved both Hey see how many he's got that seems like that's how it typically is people who have Volkswagens they'll have several if something gets in your blood yeah he had them and he loved them the one is a 60 model and then the other I'll thanks for 65 mm-hmm and I he bought those I know I thanked the 65 I can't remember which one but he bought those almost brand-new - mm-hmm yeah he bought them way way back yeah not long he he graduated in I think 58 or whatever and then went to the service mm-hmm and then when he got out of service he bought those and yeah went to work well as far as you know if we was to say say we bought out the the three out front the the two I've kind of even interested in a little Oh Jetta there if we bought all your Volkswagen products where where would you be at on it uh well we'd like 750 bus 715 but we our best offer you know we can negotiate yeah it's not a problem there with that at all yeah oh you sure man I'm not gonna I'm not gonna beat you down on that that would work for me if that works oh yeah Evan fifty that would work on all of them yeah we're just trying to get some stuff moved of them yeah get it cleaned up you know and my daddy died still come in nineteen twenty eighteen so just so we're trying to get all this done so we can uh I guess what do you call it do a little morning or whatever yes I mean it's it's hard to mourn when you're when you've got so much stuff yeah that he owned so much stuff that it's just hard to get rid of her yeah you know well a lot of times when we find these old vehicles we like to kind of take this the story behind it and incorporate it in however we might build it up so it'd be cool to kind of resurrect one of these old dogs and dad it'd be great ever his memory you know what I mean that'd be awesome he'd love that yeah looking down from heaven he would love it yes sir well if that works for you man that that works for me so donessa do all right that'll work I'll go come over here and help him load that car up was the plan but I don't know if you mind I know that one's gonna be a little tricky if we have to trim some trees backer okay I'm gonna do what you got to to get them okay do whatever you have to to get them that'll work you know if you'd like I've got a fifty one forward over here if you'd like to look at it yeah I'll check it out I seen it over there when we were walking up I wasn't for sure if that was the one that yeah we've got a lot of junk around it but yeah he bought this anticipating fixing it up we've got all the decals and uh original hubcaps and everything to go with it we've got some new hubs ordered fart and that's definitely a fixable fixable car yeah or he wouldn't about it he's probably got a little too much money in it and too much money in the two that he bought to Brian to go with it to kind of parts and stuff like that but it's not typically something that I'd probably I mean but I may be something do you have any idea where you'd need to be out on it all right all three of them maybe they want to do a package deal on that they were asking to but they would probably do local said if they wanted it they could have them for 18 hmm for all three you know and I've got boxes and boxes of yeah a fart it's even got a stereo or whatever radio to go to it it's got a I've got new side glasses for it mm-hmm new hubs to new hubs brand-new in the box all right well that's definitely something I'll consider and keep in mind yeah so I'll definitely definitely go ahead and snatch him both wagons off of you and see what we can't do with them pretty pretty excited to try to get them unstuck moved out of here now it might be a little work yeah well but you'll have some Volkswagens ya know plenty of much for sure harder uh you like very good with that yeah you could definitely make a couple of two or three good ones mm-hm you know with what y'all do you know yep y'all got good good shop and yep good equipment to work with so alrighty well I'm gonna go grab you some cash real quick and I guess we'll try to see if we can get that old maverick loaded uh okay I mean it maybe maybe tomorrow or something for we can head back home and get maverick here today that's going to go with a Frankie Bush he bought it and uh I think my dad would really be happy seeing it restored maybe hot rotted out or dragster or whatever you know and uh spent a lot of time with him looking at cars and buying cars and all kinds of stuff he was a definitely and he was a great mechanic too he was a really good mechanic he could fix anything he focused mostly on Volkswagens that was just he loved them he'd if he saw one he's definitely gonna stop and ask if he can buy it even if even if he's got five sitting at the house you know like you can see we've got several here but he loved a man and I think he'd just be a it'd be kind of a I don't know what you'd call it kind of a tribute to my dad to see them get fixed up I think he'd be a great deal he told us that there was a few other old vehicles out there we might be interested in I kind of expected we might come home with one or two of them and it looks like we bought seven of them there's some really early Volkswagen Beetles out there we went ahead and snatched up an early jet a diesel car there's a Volkswagen thing you don't see them hardly at all some of them are really rough but they've been sitting there for a really long time I mean that the owner said that some of them in there for over 40 years they're really stuck in the ground I mean there's a tree this big in one spot we're gonna have to cut down to remove one of them but we'll head out there tomorrow we probably need a bigger trailer make less trips just see what we get into tons of potential to them I can't wait to see what we get done with them everyone I met miss Ling Li Jie's to get out of the dryer she stands out to dance all day right five [Music] so here we are at day two we went ahead and got a bigger trailer and we're going to start loading up some of these old cars I figured we go ahead and start with this old Jetta and we're going to try to pick up this beetle right beside this tree I've got some friends that own a tree trimming business so they're going to come out here and lay this tree down for us that other one's going to be really hard the trees on the passenger side have started tilting the bug the driver's side is about a foot into the ground so it's going to be really interesting but we figured we go ahead and start here get them out of the way so we can lay the tree down this way and just see what we got going on [Music] [Music] might want to watch out for what might be up underneath there yeah I don't really know what or if things you don't see a whole lot right it may be a reason why though a nicole has a day so in it yeah yeah if you need to get that you on ain't got no keys and the steering column seems to be locked or weights the wheels they look straight though shouldn't just go on there you may have an issue here and they have to have a lot of flack in this chain because we've got a big link here that won't go through it I got too much to go back and come back into it with we can just get it on the trailer and then we'll find someplace we can hook it to better well get it off the ground there we go do you want to just go ahead and just try to just pull it off these old wheels are setting on up front here I think so I don't see it hurting any time no I make sure it's not in gear side of steering steering wheels locked up on it but we're pretty straight it should go up on there and get it up enough maybe I once it hit set diamond plate I'll slide it over maybe he may be in there but I don't really care to look too hard well it's out of gear yes I'll give it a pull and see what it does [Music] [Music] so this next one we're about to load is obviously the oldest Volkswagen out here I believe it's about a 60 model and it might be one of my favorites really cool it's got a rag top up underneath that old hood I've just got a really cool look to it but once again this one's stuck pretty pretty solid as well this tree is just grown up between the two beetles it's it's done smashed in the running board on this side so we're gonna have to try to winch the car over just a little bit if we try to just do a straight pull on it it's just going to mess up the whole side of this car the wheels are stuck down in the ground pretty good for some reason we didn't think to bring a shovel with us so maybe we can borrow a shovel to help dig around a little bit but we're just going to hook a winch to it somewhere try to shift it that way and then hopefully we can load it straight on the trailer I don't know where the best place to oh this one's fancy it's got two engines okay what happens in the front seat knows it really I bet you don't see a lot of twin-engine Volkswagens man this is perfect snake territory too look reaching up in some places my hand don't belong I think that should work we'll just pull it a little ways away from that train these things just look so cool on my earlier ones though yeah back in is just long a little long small taillights yeah shame that was broke but yeah you can find these parts just about anywhere it has a really cool look to it I guess we'll try to hook this up [Music] and gave it a yeah I can say it I think we will be okay once we go about another 6 inches house yeah it slid right back over to it we got to bounce it some more probably I can see a gap in between yeah and they have to stay against it like this while you pull yeah try that yeah ready ready ah something's got a hold of it it's what an axe like on underside Oh dougie right there or when it starts when I start winching it looks like it's climbing up something that's what I thank whatever that is it's hanging that and it's it's fortunate that way yeah I can't make out what that is it we may have to bounce it the trailer so hey this one's being a lot more stubborn than the jet it was so we're going to go ahead and keep working at it shouldn't be about five more minutes we should have it on there though able to get out but it's kind of got that one wedge so I'm pretty sure pretty sure it's gonna have to come down the trees on this side looks like they started picking the car up and it does bearing it on this side but yeah I mean it's not it's not too terrible it's just uh just a problem right now it is a problem yeah I think we can handle that yeah I didn't know if I mean that's that's why I called y'all that's y'all's do I didn't know would be the best route of taking on it but we'll just cut it and make a little pile here on the side get that out of the way and see what we got to do we just got unstuck and it was it was retailers been saying that loud it was very evidence so I'll tell you what dude we'll pull around here and get set up right over there in that little clearing and able that they had the tractor so they were pick up the front end help move it just a little bit that's going to save us a ton of time from digging it up putting a jack up underneath there trying to winch the car it looks like now we've got it in an area where we can just back the trailer up to it winch it up on there we've got a full trailer right now so we're going to head back to the shop dump them off we'll come back a little later load this up still got to get the Volkswagen thing still got three other beetles we got to pick up but all in all we've made some pretty good progress and it's it's kind of cool seeing this thing have some sunlight on it and they're just moving it spot from over 40 years [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] we're about to drop off this first load the oldest bug that we picked up it was a little rougher than I'd hoped for still a really cool piece still plan on doing something with it the plan is we're just going to tilt the trailer down I'm going to hook up with a chain and another truck just drag them off head back over there for the Sun Goes Down try to pick up the other elbow we cut the tree down by and possibly pick up that thing as well [Music] [Music] [Music] watch it hang myself there I feel like we just dug up a grave yeah like a grave robber kind of Nate just looking at it it doesn't even seem like that car would have fit I don't we are there it was pinched in as tight as it could go yeah I think you fair to left out here any longer mind started picking the thing up yeah could have yep pretty cool you want to try to go after that thing I think so that that went fairly well so yeah we may have to move it out and about from where it's at but listen it let's look let's walk over there and check it out see what get a game plan I really don't think this one will be too bad it don't look like it's been sitting there saw us the other ones no and it's torqued up so yeah gonna have to definitely get a couple wheels put back on it it's not in too bad of shape though floor pans are there I picked our prophecy a little different than the other colors it's got a wood roof it's kind of cool it still has all the hardware for the top man I love these little deals they remind me of like a little baby Hummer or something yeah got a really military look - real simple yeah looks like it had air conditioning yeah this one won't be too bad now let's get a motor in it I don't know for the run or not it will take all this junk off the drain just water ever yeah Oh got another car over don't say no fish in there Oh looks so much better with the tarp off I got the Jesus fish on the back yeah this is not gonna run missing a little bit of this in that yep that extra motor would be a perfect candidate yes yep I don't work I'm gonna pull my truck up over here and thaw ready I'll get the other wheels yeah see if we can find those other wheels and grab the jack and get him on there and hopefully we can get her out of here already if you find any of their mother oh yeah there's not over here where the hell in there yeah that like they were it was actually two of them so this will stand so it ain't locked up that one here spin see ya allah be able to put some wheels on it just kind of roll it out there to the road wishful thinking waiting back Wesley push it home you gotta lift it up while I put it on ya twist them till they break birthday I think it more skeeters than their Nance yeah you're both out to attack though I know that whichever ones they are well looks like the steering columns locked up on this one too we didn't get any kind of key or anything of this anyway I don't I don't think so good good enough yep she's like I'm better better yeah if that steering column won't turn thought maybe I could get that ignition switch to pull out of there where it will break loose but doesn't look like it's going to I don't see no keys anywhere well fine we'll get home I'll wrap that door panel no I guess we'll just have to try to get back here winch it the best we can and just you know get the trailer strike with it once we get the trailer strike with it it won't be no problem but just kind of getting away from that truck and it's kind of tucked in here so I'll put one over here we can get it it's just gonna be a little a little more work so it's kind of funny probably the one car that I'll actually roll out of here we don't have the key so it won't steer it's it's tucked back in the woods where we can't get the truck and trailer back there so we're just going to go ahead and we unhook from the trailer I'm gonna hook a chain to it with the truck get it out here and I open more we can get straight with it then go ahead and just winch it up on the trailer hopefully it'll go smoothly it's just kind of in one of them spots where we can't get the trailer and we just got to make something work [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] might be interesting how to make a couple turns and yeah Matt tied it or not if I could that way I'm just uh I'm just gonna punch it and hit it about 55 maybe we'll get airborne and fly it's just the fighting I'll kind of watch as I go hopefully we can stay away from this old food truck here [Music] but she wants to just keep going on around that way we manage its a lot of the slack out of his tire being flat I think certain is too because continue you all that way only thing bad about it slack out of it is it when it starts roll in it yeah rolls pretty quick I wonder if we can hop it over will not be able to one day dirt [Music] all right [Music] little Koster yeah try it again [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] that work that'll work yes we begin pulling all this stuff out back out of the ground my favorite vehicle changed from vehicle to vehicle but I think this thing might be my favorite thing of all things of all things if once we got it uncovered that tarp off of it it's not too bad a shave and it's it's got the best bones out of everything we found and you know I always repeatedly say this thing so I can get away with it on this thing let's get this thing loaded trailer ready [Music] [Applause] [Music] so it's been an extremely long and exhausting day for all of us so we've basically been out here since sunup to sunset we've all been working really hard to make this happen including our videographer he's got like 550 Clips he's got to dig through to even make this viewable for y'all but I'm really happy with what we've dug out of the ground so far the old beetles are a little rougher than I'd hoped for the pans are pretty rusty in them still really cool cars still early beetles that I've got the motors in or maybe really fun to see if we can get them up and running but I'm really digging this thing it's got really good bones it's missing a lot of the engine parts but we did get a spare motor that supposedly will run maybe we can stab it in there and get it up and going but we're running out of daylight today we've basically done all we can do we still got three other beetles we've got to come back out here and pick up but man it's been a challenge it's been fun and just can't wait to see what we do with these things [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] he said all them other boats wagon parts would go with it but I definitely want to go ahead and grab that motor while we're out here yeah pretty sure that's going to be the heart-transplant for the thing hopefully it ain't too heavy that's what I started so I hope it's just lighter than it looks don't think too bad it's all there that's a good thing because it's not all there on the motorhome that thing don't slip in the mud and keep you the other water get attacked by mosquitoes ready you probably got the hip hand link throw some straps on it gonna go grab them bumpers and anything else we see I definitely want to grab these these look like some pretty early yeah let me grab this other one yeah I think that one might go to that thing I think that might be the front one now I wish I don't think I had the back bumper on it I don't see it around here nowhere though these weren't nurse heavy I was thinking say anything I don't see anything we can always run back out here and check around about to lose daylight once again once again probably just throw this stuff in the bed of the truck find anything no just checking out this old car yeah this one's pretty cool and the money's it's right I mean yeah we might have to come back out here I figured we'll come back out here it's starting to get dark we still need to unload that yeah we might get back with him on that and he said he had new windows for it too so oh yeah it's definitely in the right direction yeah when you're back and get this unloaded and come back another day they're ready [Music] so a few weeks on back I got a little bit of H of getting an old Volkswagen in my blood I never really thought that it would turn into something quite this extreme my uncle it contacted me he had found a bunch of old vehicles out there when we pulled up and I seen some old Volkswagens sitting out front I thought that this just might be right up our alley as we started rummaging through his property two older Volkswagens caught my eye really quick they had been setting up underneath this tree for almost 45 years so it was very challenging to get them out we had to pull down the tree they seem to be all complete but they are missing the floor pans that's kind of an important part of a car they may be buildable I'm not sure it still would be really cool to get them up and running another thing that we found that we didn't see at first was it a really cool old Volkswagen thing I didn't pay a whole lot of tension to the thing when we first seen it just because it was covered up with the tarp you couldn't tell a whole lot about it but after we started unveiling this thing it actually ended up being the better of all of them it's got really good bones you don't see the things very often I think it would be a great deal to try to do around the shop as we were getting to know the gentleman that we bought these cars from you could obviously tell that there was a sentimental attachment to him he remembered his father working on him who was very passionate about Volkswagens and had just become a time in his life where he was didn't want to see him sitting out there and go to waste any longer we mentioned that we love to do tribute vehicles from the story we gain behind him and to me this thing would be a perfect candidate to do it with so I've got some pretty cool ideas and can't wait to show them to you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
