this month marks one year since we landed on the island of the Gods and made the biggest decision of Our Lives moving to Bali and since then we've posted 33 videos together again everyone using experiences still alive things Visa been to 16 house viewings moved into four homes rented six bikes and we've even taken 14 flights I know you've probably heard of this freeing life sipping on cheap cocktails by the beach and clocking out whenever you want to but as we've come to find out there's a side they don't tell you about leaving our home moving to a new country and having a go at a new career was definitely scary but with every new chapter you do get that initial high and excitement the fact that you get a new chance at exploring a whole new side of you is exhilarating we imagined connecting with people from different parts of the world exploring business opportunities sharing these exciting experiences on YouTube you know that was the dream we had for Bali we knew it wasn't going to be an easy road but we didn't expect how much the hurdles were going to challenge us issues with understanding our visas the challenges we were facing while making content in our home that we've leased for the year was literally falling apart the realities we were faced with weren't as appealing as the Bali experience we had in mind here's what they don't tell you nobody prepares you for the reality of moving to a new country that it takes time to find your way around understand different systems return to your everyday routine and find your community it requires a whole lot of learning and unlearning it's easy to feel isolated miss your support networks and not know where to go for guidance experiencing the adjustment to a new culture and how things work can be incredibly tough I mean even the way you pay your bills can just seem so foreign like being surrounded by overwhelming change every day could end up draining you emotionally and distract you from what really matters it didn't help that we were our own biggest critics here's what we envisioned 5am meditation and birth work 6 a.m workout 7 A.M ice cold shower 8 am crushing a YouTube video 11AM post YouTube video 12 p.m skip lunch too busy 3 P.M clock out and Cocktails this is an exaggerated version but you get the gist if we were pretty tough on ourselves you know being your creators and having recently changed careers we didn't give ourselves the space to just learn we wanted to be experts overnight we got caught up in perfecting our videos hitting our targets and trying to achieve everything at once we were slowly losing sight of the genuine stories we wanted to share about Connections and relationships another thing they don't tell you is how loud your imposter syndrome will try and come at you especially when you've spent years training and being an expert in your field and now suddenly you're choosing a whole new career and starting from scratch you can expect that those negative thoughts and self-doubts are going to creep in no matter how aware you are of them this is when you have to practice that mental strength and deep self-compassion there's daily affirmations breath work and movement are more effective than you think they have helped us personally shift some of those limiting beliefs that have come up throughout this journey but it's tough you can find yourself crushing it one day and the other you simply just want to give up and that's exactly what happened to us no I wanted you to go in but I didn't want you you don't have to um walk around too many times like you were these unforgiving expectations were slowly setting us up towards real signs of burnout we were starting to feel like frauds we felt like we weren't making any real progress this was the moment we considered leaving Bali and moving back home we were questioning every single decision and wondering if we've made the wrong move and investment why because we are wired to seek security and turn to what we know what feels safe and comfortable there's nothing wrong with that but when you have been yearning to build a new lifestyle career and experiences in life you can't let discomfort and the unknown stop you from going for it taking the leap of faith and moving into new environments does put us in a very vulnerable spot but it also is where we enter this zone of growth you're going to become more resilient and open yourself up to opportunities that you would never have had before there won't ever be the perfect timing where everything is aligned that money time and skills are perfectly on your side you simply have to take action so do the research on what it takes to reskill invest in that additional course or program take time off and step back whatever you would need to move that one step closer and create a more aligned life for us we had to take some time off to reconnect with the present moment and be reminded why we are on this journey and the best people we can lean on is our family we celebrated Eve with 90's family returned home for my dad's 70th birthday and I got to spend some quality time with the boys and my family and even made it to my oldest mate's wedding here's what we can tell you that it's okay not to know what you're doing to feel scared and a beginner no matter what stage of life you're in you don't have to have it all figured out before you can go after what you really want to do and this is what our channel is about to give as much information about building a life here in Bali while sharing the realities we Face along the way we'd love to include more play and exploration in this new chapter so we can build genuine connections with you and be authentically ourselves your comments and stories are not lost on us it's definitely been the one motivator for us to keep coming back and sharing ours too thank you for being a part of our journey of learning and unlearning here's to redefining our body Adventure [Applause] [Music] thank you
