the diamond district is not a fun place it's a miserable place to me i hate it okay um i hate the people here they're trash the disrespectful obnoxious backwards thinking fools i had to beg them to take pictures of the jewelry to sell it all right you you first you have to beg them then they have then they big you please come please come when i came and i had my my hat in hand and my digital camera and i asked to take pictures any one of these suckers if they would have backed me up i'm just like good hey hey uh listen don't go yet i just want to introduce i just want to finish this you're leaving it's just i'm going to start that again give me one second all right i just want to say hello we did 1.5 million in sales all right in in november we did 1.4 so between those two months we did three million right do you have any figures on that end so the way i run my business right it's not a in a conventional way right it's a way that a strategic way that i see fit first and foremost i run it through a lot of talented people that are working here right the shop has a group over there the mezzanine has another group of people the marketing has another group and upstairs the operation has another group and my general business task is to develop a team okay that's what that's what i want to do because i don't want to make the jewelry i don't want to sell the jewelry and i don't want to do the hustle and bustle every day all these other jewelers they do that they they sit there behind their booth every day they work with their customers every day and that's how they run and make their money i don't want to do that i want to do it creatively so i usually get here around 3 p.m okay that's the earliest i get here i'd like to get here earlier but i stay up very very late planning thinking coordinating uh my thoughts really and coming in and running around and checking up on the staff see how they're maneuvering through the variety of different objectives that they have and then i find the time to do the marketing that i want to do which is usually videos about gold or jewelry or this or that in order to get this business rolling the way you want to really get it rolling right um we have to be creative and i have a very simple philosophy is working with people and building a team okay so we got the website we got the local we got the custom jewelry ads right we're going to develop a little bit more of the team we could keep spending we can keep investing in that the brand is growing the presence is growing the movie is helping the movie they were making uncut gems they're searching for parts for this for this one part for the scene where he gets this gem and the guy is quitting while he gets it whatever it is not spoiler alert but um you know they're searching for new york jeweler in google i come up yeah they call me up they say would you like to audition for this part i say yeah i come down i audition it i know how important it is for my business i knock it out of the park they put me in the movie right i go to the sound stage in long island um i show up there's adam sandler there's kevin garnett our cameras are starting rolling i'm like all right i'm playing my jewelry self that's it that's the formula right and you go to amazon and you search for something you're not going to see a bunch of user experiences and stories just simple text on the right side items over here sponsored results over there click here's an item here's the description nothing's nothing complicated we added we have a little bit of design here and this and that and that's it everything else is well you know in the beginning people were feeling a certain way about the company because the company was based on pictures of jewelry and that's it and that's not enough for people to build a personal relationship with them once you start educating them and sharing information with them entertaining them to a certain degree and letting them into your personality to the inside of your business they have a personal relationship with you and if if they appreciate you and respect you and respect what you're doing they're gonna they're gonna that's gonna reflect in how they interact with your business whether what good comment they leave and what they do right when they people see me now they see that i started a business from scratch i developed it i built a team i manufacture jewelry i give up fair prices and i give out information they're going to respect it simple as playing you got another microphone i got two mics going now now we're definitely in show business you guys are ready for show business show business put these guys in the in a movie [Music]
