hi there dr. Ali Lambert here with expert Hearing Care and today I'm going to show you how to use your new TV adapter box so the first thing is you should have a box it looks identical to mine and I'm going to take some time to open everything up and show you what's inside so the first thing you'll find is your handy dandy instruction manual and if I don't happen to cover a question you have today chances are good it's gonna be in your instruction book the second thing you'll find is the actual TV adapter box itself so we're gonna go ahead pop that out further inside the box you're gonna find three other boxes that have one two and three labeled on them the first box is going to contain your power supply and your second box is gonna contain a couple of extra adapters for you to use it's got your traditional RCA connector as well as a mini Jack USB adapter here's our RCA and our little mini Jack USB and the last box inside is number three which is called your Toslink or optical cable when you pull it out you're going to notice that it's got two plastic caps on the end I've had some people try to leave the plastic caps on so make sure that you pull those off before you try to use this cable okay so now we've got everything spread out from the box now let's start talking about what goes where the first thing I'm going to take care of pairing your hearing devices to your television box before you leave the office but just in case please stay tuned I'll show you how to pair in case something didn't go through on the box itself we're gonna turn it around and you're gonna see multiple ports in the back here don't be intimidated I promise you this is not hard the first thing you want to do is find your power plug okay and just to show you we're gonna go ahead and pop that in okay and quite obviously we're going to need to be in there at a wall outlet and we're gonna pop that side in once you do so you'll see a green light on the front of the box telling you you're good to go you have power the second thing we want to do you can choose any of these adapters I've laid out to use and connect to your television but I find that using that optical cable gives you a much better signal it's just more crisp and clear so that's what I'm going to show you okay I'm going to locate this pink port okay it's gonna be the end on your box and you'll notice that it has a little swing door on it okay we're gonna take our optical cable or Toslink as it's sometimes called and we're gonna pop that in place okay very important here I want you to listen for an audible snap if you don't hear that you don't have that optical cable in all the way and it's not going to provide you with any kind of a signal okay then what we'll do is you would remove the other plastic cap from the other side and you would locate that out on your television that out is going to look identical to the one we just plugged in it'll have that swing door again okay and listen for that audible snap then once you have everything plugged in you should then see green and blue lights on the very front of your TV adapter let me show you where you would look just right here for power and then also to let you know that your connection to your television is secure okay then to start using that TV streamer box you would manually press and hold a button on your hearing device I usually tell patients to say one Mississippi and let go and that will trigger the connection to the box okay it will make a ding-ding chime and your hearing aid to let you know that you have successfully done that you can do the manual way but you can also access it through your phone through the Otakon on app okay please see another video that I've put out just so that you can walk through that process if you don't already know another cool thing that you can use this box for is if we don't use this optical cable just kind of pull this out here you can't plug this into the into the computer so if we were going to plug this into the computer for audio source it would take our RCA connectors okay red and red white and white and we're going to connect those like so and then we would take our little mini USB jack adapter okay red and white again maybe plug those in and then you would plug this part into your microphone port on your computer same thing you would have to use the manual or the app to trigger the streaming from the TV box but I like to tell patients that you have multiple options to use this so like I promised if for some reason you're pressing the button you're in your app you're pressing the TV toggle and it's not making lasting ding or you're not getting that good streaming all you would do to pair your hearing devices back to this box is you would take them okay and you would open up your battery compartment just like so we would sit it on the box and you would close it okay and you would leave it there for a couple of minutes you would then see flashing blue lights to tell you that it's looking for something to pair with once it finds them it will be solid blue okay easy and simple rechargeable folks I know you don't have a battery compartment to do that with but if you would take your rechargeable cradle have it plugged in put your hearing aids in and pull them out it's just the same as opening and closing the battery door okay so I think that we have watched through just about everything with the TV adapter if you have any questions as usual don't be a stranger please give us a call refer to your instruction manual and thank you so much for watching this video take care
