in this video i'm going to show you how to use multiple cursors in vs code to edit on multiple lines at the same time let's take this list of books over here we want to change name to author so what we can do is we can highlight name and then on a windows computer hit control d on mac hit command d and every time you do that it's gonna find the next match when it does that it's going to add another cursor we can then take that cursor and we can use it to change the text from name to author then hit escape to make the cursors go away a fast way to select all the text is to highlight the word then on windows press control shift l on mac command shift l another way that you can add multiple cursors is by holding alt on windows or option on mac and then clicking where you want to place the cursor another way to add a cursor is using a keyboard shortcut on windows do ctrl alt up or down on a mac do option command up or down as well to add a cursor using the tricks that we learned in this video we can take this comma separated set of values and change it to semicolons don't forget to like subscribe and hit that notification bell
