it kind of feels like the more scraps I use for my project the more scraps I make well today I'm going to share with you the perfect project to use all your scraps without creating more everything in my scrap pile has got to go and this is the perfect project to do it let's go as you can see we also need a rectangle of thermal adhesive M Isen Bond about 15 by 9 in yeah nine is all I have so let's make it nine here's the fun part we want scraps teeny tiny scraps you know the smaller the better the cuter and we want loads of them let's start searching now we will be covering this rectangle in scraps and you can pick the colors you want personally I'm making this as colorful as I possibly can at the same time I want to use scraps that have some kind of meaning to me and I'll explain why in a bit I thought I could get away with just putting the scraps on top without ironing them um but uh it's it's a bad idea they're just you know all crimped up and uh I can't really see how much uh surface they're taking let's rearrange these guys real quick doesn't need to be extremely perfect you can just add more on top so there are no rules here really not all need to be pressed but but I would say most of them do we don't want any wide spaces once we're done okay that's the main thing here we need to cover up all the wide spaces we need to press this down okay we don't want to iron it okay we don't want to move the iron around and move the pieces around we want them to stay exactly where we put them so we just press them down and the adhesive will activate and glue them all together let's see oh over here we have a big one so let's just press this in place for these pieces that are lifted or any other pieces you want to add on top of the Fabrics use this our trusted temporary glue pen you just give it a smidge like this you know you can do as many layers as many pieces as you want here's what we need for our next step we need uh something sheer like an organza this is an old curtain who has seen better days we also want to add a layer of interfacing or fusible fleas if that's what you like to work with or just some felt you know I will be using 100% cotton batting don't you just love it when your rotary cutter is really sharp just cuts through anything like butter first we have our batting and now we are going to remove from our heating Bond and what we're doing right now is we are going to glue this uh top to the batting but first I just need to make really really sure that all my gaps are covered I am a little bit obsessed with this and again we're not ironing we are pressing still kind of loose and we don't want them to fold or anything like that our next step is to add our Veil make sure this is entirely covered look how cute this is guys and it's definitely all going to stay in place because the next step is to quilt it you can use adhesive spray but I like to pin these in place I am going to quilt this and there are of course a lot of options we can do a free mushroom quilting we can do some diamonds you know how much I love the diamonds we can do just some straight cute you know simple lines I think I am going to be doing some straight lines because essentially what we're doing will look like this once we're done so I'm thinking that maybe some lines like this will be [Music] perfect let's chop all this unnecessary stuff off before we [Music] continue y i just at the table ah titanium blades indeed and this is the outside of what we're doing so what we want to do now is fold it in half and we want to sew on both ends I may as well tell you at this stage that we are making a basket okay and uh because we're making a basket we need a bottom depth so we are going to chop 1 inch off on both corners and we just Mark 1 in from not from the seam from the bottom you can of course make this like 1 and 1/2 2 in you know whatever the size of the basket you want if you want it really deep like large you can make it bigger now let's cut this off and two now we are going to join these two together just like this and we are going to sew on both sides okay I prefer to cut it on this side because of the seam I want to make sure it doesn't move a lot so we're going to sew like this on both sides so this is what we're going to have but before we continue we need to make exactly what we've done to our inside fabric also 15 by9 and we repeat the last time Taps we just [Music] took so we sew the sides then we cut the 1 in out of the [Music] corners this is something I want to keep on my sewing table personally I'm using it for scraps you know I usually collect them as I sew but you can use them for whatever you want I could keep my quilting Clips on it my safety pins my keys when I get home you know whatever you need for it it's good and if it make it bigger you can use it for other things as well you know the possibilities are truly endless but for me I love the idea of looking at it and seeing all the bits and pieces from the project I made over the years kind of feels like a time capsule if you will you know it's filled with memories I love it we are going to sew all around joining the two Fabrics but we are going to leave a gap that's big enough for us to turn it all inside out and that's going to be the stressful part okay we can pin this if we want to make sure it doesn't move that's probably a good [Music] [Music] idea let's check to see if this is all sewn in we don't want to notice there's a loose part after we've turned this this part always always makes me extremely nervous let's turn this inside out we don't want to rip anything but we really need this to go through all these layers are really putting up a fight our little Corners yeah now would not be a good time to find out we uh left a part of the corner open or that the seam didn't cover the whole thing now it would really suck to find that out now so but we didn't all is good and this is the out side the inside and now now there's only one thing left to do we sew one final time around the edge of our basket to keep all the layers in place and if you want to you can definitely hand Stitch that gap before sewing it all around okay but you still need to add a little seam around to keep the layers in place don't worry if uh like the seam is all crooked we will be turning this out okay we will be making a fold so it won't show I will never be a perfectionist I have accepted that about me nothing I do is perfect and there are no two like of whatever I do and I kind of like that but um yeah it's definitely something to accept we want our scene to be as close to the Border as we possibly can this is the tricky part just so close to the edge all nice and closed just to make a little [Music] fold and call it a day look at this guys how cute how perfect will this be for my scrap Bowl this is kind Kind of Perfect not going to lie I am not not used to be to doing perfect stuff but this is very close to perfect guys yeah cameraman Mike is saying yes he agrees and if camera Mike agrees I must have done really good today I'm on the high right now I love it I hope you did too and I'll see you soon bye-bye
