How To Use Kwikset SmartKey To Re-Key - FAST And EASY!

in this video i'm going to show you how to use this smart key to rekey all your quick set door knobs in your house to use the same key all you guys know that's been watching my channel i installed several of these quick set door knobs in my house so i'm going to show you how to re-key them all to the same key so this is the original key to the deadbolt as you can see it operates a deadbolt with these and then if we take the key we want to use and slide it in it will not operate the deadbolt so what we do we take our original key here that came with this deadbolt put it in and turn it clockwise to about 90 degrees in this case and there's a little hole right above the key and you're going to slide your smart key that came with your door lock set into that hole and remove it and now take out the original key and replace it with the key that you want it keyed to and then go ahead and try to operate the deadbolt and now it's working take it all the way out and now we're going to see if it operates still works really well and now we're going to take our old key that originally came to door and as you can see it does not operate the deadbolt no longer i'll put a link to my amazon store in the description below there you'll be able to find several quick set door knobs one that's probably going to suit your needs and i do get a small commission from amazon but it's no extra cost to you and if you're new to this channel my name is josh just tell us all about booner house saving tonight so be sure to subscribe ring that bell so you get notification every time i release a new video hammer that like button for me that's all i ask in return for making this video all right guys i got a bunch of work i gotta get around done around the house so i'll see you in the next video have a good
