some of us were today years old when we realized there's a super easy way to use a fusion mat in the color page Shabbat so I have this comp right it's a green screen comp where we're replacing the screen here with cats very nice and then we switch over to the color page and we did a pretty good job compositing but we want to do some adjustment on the screen here make it brighter darker more contrast less saturation that kind of thing well we could of course select it with a window something like that and track it but there's problems with that not to mention there's all the skin and everything wouldn't it be great if we can just use this mat for our green screen in the color page well actually you can and it's so simple check this out so we have a media out node and this is where you connect your final image so everything that you want to be seen connects to the media out but you can also shift spacebar add another media out and what the heck does that do well check this out I can take the output of Delta keyer and put this into media out too and it's not going to render to the timeline but if we go to the color page we can right click anywhere here in our nodes and select add source and this is going to be our media out 2 from the fusion page so check this out I can make another node here and I'll connect this source to our key input of our second node look what happens if we if we go to our key palette we can look at our Alpha there is the matte that we made in the fusion page right now it's going to select everything but the screen but I can go to key input here and invert this and now we have a perfect selection of our screen which we can adjust separately from the rest of our footage Dang Gina so cool so now if I want to boost my saturation change my lift my Shadows all that stuff I can do that here in a dedicated node in the color page ah such a useful thing when you're color grading Composites so there's a quick tip but guess what you don't you don't need anything else such a great little nugget when it comes to compositing and such speaking of compositing if you are new to Fusion or you you want to learn how to do visual effects and compositing we have a course for that we have a basic compositing course which is great for anybody who's new to fusion and if you have a little bit of experience with Fusion you want to get into the nitty-gritty a little more we also have the advanced course check those out at groundcontrol.film there's also a link in the description thanks for hanging out with me and mattin just get getting Maddie not well yeah it wasn't even a good outro
