yo guys what's up this is tom from unreal madden in this tutorial i will show you how to create displaced materials with the bump offset node and let's go so we jump in to our wood material and i quickly import all the maps so very important is the displacement map the white areas these are the areas that are higher and black areas are the areas that lower and gray areas are just mid and we right click and search for bump offset and we will plug the red channel into the height next step we right click and add a multiply node plug the red channel into the a and plug the output pin into the height and now left click and press 1 and convert this to a parameter and let's call the strength and this goes into b so what the setup does is basically we can adjust the strength of the displacement later and yeah that's all it does now we will plug all our maps in and we are basically ready to do the whole setup so select all your nodes drag them over and this output from the bump offset goes into all the uvs if we have done this our material is basically ready and we can save it what we can do now is right click on our material create a material instance and let's go into that so if we turn on the strength here and increase the value you can see how displacement is going on so i will set the value to 1 and you can see how the material changes and we have basically very cheap displacement with the bump offset note and yeah as you can see here 138 instructions that is very little displacement costs like 200 instructions so i think that's very good and if you like this tutorial please leave a thumbs up if not leave a thumbs down i'll see you next time and bye
