HOW TO USE A HAIR DRYER | Blowdrying Tutorial | Men's Hairstyle Tutorial 2022

what's up guys my name is alex costa and today i am giving you guys what you've been waiting for i know so many of you asked alex can you please teach us how to blow dry my hair well today i'm giving you the blow drying tutorial that you've been waiting for got my blow dryer right here i got my tools right here i got everything that i need first of all guys let me just say this should not be intimidating okay i understand girls have been doing this for a long time and us man we're just getting started we don't really know i learned how to blow dry my hair like only three years ago or something when i started this channel you know when i started talking about men's hair and lifestyle on this channel so it hasn't been a long time but i've perfected it that is for sure it's super easy once you get the hang of it it's really not that complicated and it speeds up the whole hair styling process my hair is ready in less than 10 minutes between 5 and 10 minutes my hair is done and that's if i like i wash it i get out of the shower like this with my hair wet i go from this to like the perfect hairstyle within 5-10 minutes which is really cool so i'm gonna teach you guys how to blow dry your hair exactly keep in mind every hairstyle is gonna be different every hair type is gonna be different but i will show you how to get the alex costa hairstyle uh with with these tools right here so what i'm going to be using today is a blow dryer all right this one's from harry josh you can use whatever one you feel comfortable using whatever one you can afford it doesn't really matter that much as long as you're not damaging your hair that's the most important thing i'm going to be using this boar brush here this bristle brush thing i'm going to list everything in the description so you guys can go and get the same one if you'd like i'm going to be using the 4k series texture clay that's for to style my hair after i blow dry it and then i'm going to be using an argan oil this one is still under development under the forte series so this is going to be the forte series oil that will come out very soon all right let's get started alright so after you pat your hair dry to make sure it's not soaked we're going to apply the forte series argan oil that's going to make my hair feel super soft smooth and it's gonna protect my hair from the heat that's coming off the blow dryer now that my hair feels amazing and it's protected i'm gonna give it some shape with the brush so that i can see what we're working with here then i turn on my blow dryer to the highest setting full power and the highest heat all right so that we can get the job done quickly what i like to do is i like to start at the back so i use the brush to separate the front and the back here then i blow dry the back of my hair up and backwards that's really important by blow drying it up you're giving your hairstyle some volume and if you do the back first you have that base back there that's going to hold up the front of your hair when you're ready to blow dry that part [Music] once the back is done you're going to look a little bit weird like this here with the fringe to the side but that's all right you know it's to the front now and you can see that i'm really pulling my hair obviously not pulling hard enough to a point where i can hurt myself or break my hair but you do want to pull it pretty hard to get rid of the waves or the curls if you have them and if you want to get rid of them if you want to straighten your hair out pull the hair up and backwards again and blast it with some heat to get the humidity out and to get it into the right shape my hair is dry it looks good it's straight but it's not there yet you know now i'm going to give you guys some pro tips that will make your hair look amazing this is going to sound a little bit weird but lean down kind of like bend over and then blow dry your hair upside down all right that's going to give it a lot of volume because gravity is going to give you that volume and the heat will get it to move upwards i know it's a little bit awkward but just do it for like 10-15 seconds and trust me you're gonna see a huge difference you can also blow dry your hair in the opposite direction and i've told you guys this before in a couple of other videos but you blow dry it in the opposite direction to which you usually part it do that for a second so if i like to part my hair to the right i do it to the left for a second and then i bring it back and part it again to the other side with the blow dryer that's gonna make your hair look so damn good the volume will be insane and last but not least guys to lock your hairstyle in this is what i recommend blow dry in the hottest setting warm your hair up make it really hot and warm right and then when it's shaped exactly like you want it you blast it with the cold air and what that's going to do is the hot air is going to make your hair really flexible and easy to style into the desired shape and then the cold air what it does is it locks everything into place so as soon as you blast it with the cold air it's going to be a little bit stiffer and it's going to hold its position its shape a little bit longer so that's what you want until you style your hair so this is why blow drying your hair is so important guys because it's pretty much already shaped right i already have the basic shape yeah it's a little bit flimsy because there's no product in right now there's absolutely zero product in there but you can see that it's straight it's smooth it's shiny it feels nice you know what i mean and it's already got the base shape which is really important so what we're going to do now that we already have what we want the hair is dry there's a lot of volume because of the techniques that we use now we're going to apply the finishing product and that's going to be the forte series texture clay so what you want to do is you want to really dig in there and scoop up even a little bit less than this actually i would say like that much you really don't need that much so i'm going to do this right now which is i'm going to put it on my palm all right and you want to make sure that you break it down this is very important break it down all the way okay until there's a thin layer of product on your hands it's pretty much invisible there's no clumps okay because if there's clumps like that and then you put it on your hair it's going to be right like people are going to see it right so you want to make sure that you always just emulsify it aka break it down all the way until it's clear and then you start to apply the hair product now as you can see there's no hold right now yeah i blow-dried it into shape my hair is straight but there's no hole so what we want to do is we want to apply this product to make sure that we achieve that and as you can see look at the hole that we have now look at the difference it's a lot different this is a very strong high hold extreme hold clay with lots of texture so what i'm going to do is i'm going to shape it in like that make sure that you grab the roots and apply products product to the roots as well alright guys and as you can see this is the final result blow drying is such a big part of every guy's hairstyle routine if you really want to have volume if you want to have texture if you want to have if you have wavy hair and you're trying to get rid of some of those waves you want something that's a little bit more sleek then definitely learn how to use a blow dryer because this is a game changer this is a complete game changer use the tips that i've given you and try to achieve the best hairstyle possible and of course if you want to get
