How To Use A Computer Monitor As A TV-Easy Tutorial

hey everybody i'm here today to show you and tell you how to use a computer monitor as a tv this will be a super easy tutorial so let's get right into the video you'll need a few things you will need a computer monitor you'll need a tv box and then you're going to need the wiring to connect the two so you need a power source for your computer monitor you're going to need a power source for your cable box or your tv box and then you're gonna need uh some sort of cord to connect the cable box to the computer monitor now this actually is not like a standard cable box this is an android box but i'm just using it to represent a cable box because it has basically the same connections that you would be using with a regular cable box so first and foremost you want to plug both into a power source so plug your monitor into a power source and then plug your cable box into a power source now because it's just a demonstration i'm not going to be plugging them in but you want to make sure that there's power going to both of them then you want to look on the back of your cable box and look on the back of your monitor and you're going to look for a port that is the same on both of them just to make it nice and simple so in this case i have an hdmi port over here and we have an hdmi port over here i'm going to show you how to connect those two just like that so you're going to need a cord that has those uh outputs on either end so you can see this is hdmi on one end and hdmi on the other end if you're in this situation which if you have a modern monitor and a modern cable box you can probably do this you're going to plug in the hdmi okay into one end one end goes in the cable box and the other end goes into the monitor just like this okay once you've plugged both of them in then all that you need to do is go on the monitor and you need to actually turn it to the mode that is hdmi or whatever the cord or whatever the input is okay now in this monitor you can see that there's actually a different one over here which i believe this is called the vga port i believe it says a different thing up here but i've just grown up calling this a vga port if your monitor only has this option here and your cable box has an hdmi i believe that there is an adapter that you can get that will convert the hdmi to this right here but essentially you need to have a cord whether it's a standard cord or one with an adapter that connects the cable box to the monitor once you've done that and everything's powered on then on the monitor you just want to switch it to the input of whichever one you've plugged into and then you're able to project the cable or the tv whatever you know if it's an antenna if it's the cable box whatever you're using the actual tv video onto the computer monitor and it's that easy if you like this video please be sure to give it a thumbs up let me know what you think down below as a comment and of course be sure to subscribe for more great videos just like this one and that's all i have for you today thanks for watching
