everyone welcome to career talk once again today i'm going to talk about the 90 days notice period once again and tell you how to use it to your advantage yes you heard it right but before i do that please subscribe to the channel if you have not done it already and hit the bell icon for all notifications now a lot of people complain that there is a 90 days notice period and we don't know how to get early release and our company is not releasing us early and the employer the future employer is asking us to join in 60 days or 30 days this is a very common problem okay now how to use it to your advantage there is only one way of doing it is starting early that means you start to prepare early okay so as soon as you have made up your mind that you are going to leave your current company either because you are not getting along with your manager or because you are not paid fairly or because you are not getting promoted there can be several reasons why you want to leave but once you have made up your mind and there is no looking back then you have to sincerely work on your resume okay make sure that your resume is complete and updated and it is very current okay with respect to how the market is trending and then along with the resume you have also updated your linkedin profile nakri profile monster indeed there's so many websites right all of this should be in sync okay that's your first step and it takes around a week's time to get everything in sync and be prepared okay now once you have done that test the market okay go into the market and test how your resume is getting response whether you're getting interview calls okay and if you apply how many days it is is it taking to get the interview calls okay so once you have done all of this then you need to take some step with with respect to research you know go and look what kind of companies have profiles or job openings which are matching with your cv okay so how many job openings how many jd's are there which are matching with your cv where you can potentially apply okay so you know this tells you that the market is hot and how the market is going to receive you and then the next step is to prepare for interviews so if you are prepared for interviews it takes time right you need to do mock interviews you need to you know learn from others who have failed and others who have succeeded and all of that right so once you've done all of this which i can tell you will take around a month's time then take some calculated risk and go and resign in your company okay a lot of people will tell me oh that's a very stupid move to make but here what we're doing is we are taking some calculated risk we know that the market is hot we have searched for job openings we know where to apply we have tested whether our resume is updated and you know it is getting some calls or not after doing all of this go and resign at your current job that's what i'm telling you take some calculated risk if you are risk averse if you don't want to take risk then you know absolutely you should leave this video right now don't take any risk but listen what i'm trying to tell you any company which wants you to hire within 30 days or 60 days is in need okay they want you at any cost they want you early that means they have already started some project or they're going to start some project very soon where they need somebody with your skill and your experience okay you are in demand and that is why you can negotiate a better deal you can negotiate a better salary because you are within the 30 to 60 days of range you are the right person with right experience and skill set and that's where you can get additional two three lakhs four lakhs five lakhs of salary based on what and how you can negotiate versus a scenario where the company is cool they can wait to hire you for three months right you have a three months notice period they're ready to wait for 30 days oh sorry 90 days what does that mean that means they are not hiring few for a specific requirement they are not hiring you for something which is really urgent or in demand they are hiring you for future where they know that okay after three months probably we are going to get a project or you know there is a deal which is going to come and the business is saying that okay you know we need people with x skills or why skills in 90 days or 180 days of time so let's hire proactively let's build a bench okay so if they are doing that then they are not going to be pressed for date okay they are not pressed for time and that's where they will probably not negotiate with you okay so think about the 90 days notice period as what you can make most of it if you do it with planning you can certainly make the most of it and of course then there are ways and means of doing it right once you get one offer then you negotiate with another employer with that offer in hand and things like that it's a it's a pretty normal thing to do today right so think about it guys i generally believe that today anybody who is a technical person java full stack analytics data science you know all these skills which are pretty much in demand machine learning uh tableau and stuff like that so all of these skills which are pretty hot in market you can go on linkedin and search put some alerts on nokia and linkedin so that you will get you know the openings in your email or in your on your on your mobile app that way you can be sure of how the market is trending and you take some calculated risk to your advantage okay i hope this made sense to you guys do let me know in comments what do you think about it uh again if you are not risk if you have a lower risk appetite then don't do this okay but if you can take some calculated risk then this is the way to go for it all right i'll see you next video guys stay tuned i'll see you soon bye
