if you just picked up your Asus Rog Ally somehow are enjoying a bug-free experience and were shocked to find out the windows needs an extra 11 gigabytes of space just for updates you might be interested in upgrading your SSD the opening process is pretty simple all you need to do is remove the five Phillips screws and the Center Middle Screw which is captive that's going to stay inside the case as you lift the case away [Music] lift the back off and disconnect the battery remove the black sticker off the middle of the main board and remove the SSD screw and then the card slides right out a new Drive goes in and then close up your ally the same process in reverse plug your device in if your battery's dead like mine it should automatically boot into the BIOS as soon as you power it on from here hit the advanced tab go to Advanced and hit Asus Cloud recovery it allows you to connect to your Wi-Fi network don't connect to ours we're not going to give you the password if you're lucky you can connect to their servers and begin the cloud recovery process immediately this might take a few tries click on confirm to start the cloud recovery process you will need to interact with the prompts a few more times it'll give you an opportunity to back out of the process if you need to shouldn't need to because the drive is empty back up your files no there are no files to back up click proceed and start the cloud recovery process at this point sit back and relax you can walk away the process is automated you can come back later to check on it if you want to replace or upgrade your Rog Ally we got links in the description below to grab your new SSD at ifixit.com if we inspired you to upgrade or replace your allies SSD let us know how your upgrade went in the comments below thank you
