How to Upgrade FortiGate Firewall Firmware - FortiOS LATEST RELEASE

hi guys this is the Igor attack today I will show you how to upgrade fordeo's firmware version to the latest release or any higher version also how to schedule Auto firmware upgrade I will show you the online and offline methods as well [Music] let's begin for this demo we're going to use 40 OS version 7.2.0 and upgrade to the latest release first method is we are going to schedule Auto upgrade this is very useful if you want to schedule Auto firmware upgrade after office hours or depending on the time you prefer for this process make sure that the device is connected or can access the internet go to system choose fabric management select the device then choose fabric upgrade at the top you can see the current version which in my case is 7.2.0 under select firmware you can see the latest firmware available during the time of this recording the latest firmware available is 7.2.2 if you want to check other higher firmware versions go to all upgrades tick show more and you will see all the versions available you may choose the version you prefer then click next we also have the downgrade option which we will cover in the next video now let's go back to the latest version click on it then click next if you prefer to upgrade now then choose immediate since we're going to set the schedule then we will choose custom you may now set the upgrade date and time expand the date and time then modify based on your preference once done click next you can review the details it will tell you that once you confirm the firmware will be upgraded as detailed below under device you can see the host name under firmware you can see upgrade to version 7.2.2 which we just set now click confirm and backup config this will confirm the schedule and also back up the current configuration which you can use to revert back anytime you want you may check the link in the description below on how to backup and restore fortigate configuration you can review the details again the device hostname status is online since it's connected to the internet the device is not registered yet the current firmware version which is 7.2.0 and will be upgraded to 7.2.2 as scheduled you may check back the device after the scheduled date and time to verify if the firmware upgrade process was successful if in case you changed your mind you can cancel the scheduled Auto upgrade simply click on cancel fabric upgrade you need to confirm that you want to cancel the scheduled fabric upgrade click ok to proceed next method is using the upgrade option click upgrade it's exactly the same process you have the option for the latest firmware all upgrades to view all the 40o's versions available all downgrade which you can check on the link on the description below additionally we have the file upload this is for offline upgrade or if you downloaded the 40os file then you can choose this option tick browse locate the downloaded firmware file click open you can now click confirm and backup config this process will restart the device so wait for it to finish the process let's proceed to upgrade the device to the latest version go to latest tab where you can choose all upgrade now choose the 40 OS you prefer choose confirm and backup config you will be asked if you want to proceed this will cause the system to reboot click continue to proceed you can see the config file has been downloaded it's now downloading and installing the image wait for it to finish the process do not reboot or power off the device during this process I will fast forward the video for this fortigate 60f it took four minutes to complete the upgrade process let's now login to the device you can see the firmware version is 7.2.2 you can notice also the upgrade status is up to date we can also check the dashboard you can see the firmware details also from here well that's all for today's demonstration and I really hope you like this video if you are new to my Channel please don't forget to like share subscribe and click on the notification Bell for more amazing tutorials thank you and see you in the next video
