for latest updates in this video i will show you how to unlock scot user in oracle database 11g express edition software before forwarding there are some prerequisites the first thing your pc must have installed with the oracle database 11g express edition software and secondly make sure that you have downloaded oracle sql developer software which is a standalone software we are going to make use of this sql developer for unlocking scot user if you want to know how to do a complete setup of oracle database 11g express edition software on windows operating system i have prepared a video on this please have a look at it in the below description i have provided that link please watch that video for complete setup of oracle database 11g express edition software so let's get started on how to unlock scot user in oracle database 11g express edition software as i already said you should download sql developer i have downloaded my sql developer software double click on this here you can see sql developer icon application icon this is a standalone software we do not need to install this software to every time we need to open this application so open this application sql developer double click on this icon on the screen you can see oracle sql developer is loading this is the oracle sql developer welcome page before unlocking hr schema we need to connect to the system admin for this we need to create a new connection we need to manually create connection in order to create a connection go here click on this new connection plus icon on the screen you can see a pop-up window new select database connection first we need to configure system connection so we need to give the name as whatever the name you would like to give but i am giving system admin and username is system in small letters at the time of oracle database 11g express edition software installation you might have specified database passwords for sys and system database accounts whatever the password that you have entered you need to specify that password over here at the time of installation i have given the password as admin so i am giving as admin and the connection type let it be the basic let it be the default connection hostname localhost port 1521 sid xc click on test connection you can see the status success click on connect we have successfully configured system admin connection here you can see system admin connection worksheet you have successfully connected to the system admin now we are going to unlock scot user in oracle database 11g express edition software in order to unlock scot user in oracle database 11g express edition first we need to identify the scot sql script and then we need to manually execute that scott sql script i will show you the location of the scott sql script file open the windows folder click on this pc open the c drive double click on the oracle xc folder app folder oracle folder double click on the product folder open this folder open server folder scroll down to rdbms rdbms folder double click on the open the rdbms folder click on the admin folder scroll down to scott here you can identify scott file this is a squat file you can open this scored sql script right click with any text editor edit with notepad plus plus this is the scott sql script you can see the content of this sql script now we are going to execute this sql script for this you need to select the path guys this is very very important okay click on this path right click copy and you need to paste it in the sql developer paste in the sql developer please make sure that you are in the system admin and give the backward slash scott dot sql we are going to execute this in order to execute the sql statement at the starting of the sql statement we need to specify art symbol space so we are good to execute the sql statement click on this run script or from the keyboard press f5 i'm going to click here from here click on the screen you can see the script output connection created by connect script command let's query the system database select star from all users run the statement you can see the query result of the metadata table all underscore users here you can see scott this defines that we have unlocked scot users successfully now let's create a new database connection for score user go to the connections tab new connection click on this plus icon you can see a pop-up window over here you can see the existing connections now we need to specify the database connection for the scot i am specifying the name as cot you can specify whatever the name that you would like to give but please make it meaningful we need to specify the score credentials over here username scott password tiger this is case sensitive we need to give in capital letters and click on the save password let me let it be the default connection details hostname localhost port 1521 sid xc click on test connection you can see the status as success click on connect on the screen you can see we have successfully created the scot database connection you can see the worksheet also now let's query the score database select start from tab run the statement on the screen you can see the list of tables that are present in the scott database let's query one of the table emp table select star from emp [Music] run the statement you can see 14 records in the emp table in this way
