hello everybody hope you're having a great day well I'm making chicken rotisserie chicken in my new air fryer it works so well and it's so delicious I wanted to show you how I did it well first thing I want to get some rub to put in to spice the chicken a/4 teaspoon of onion powder and one and 1/2 teaspoons of lemon pepper and then one teaspoon of garlic powder now I've already put salt on the chicken I dry brine the chicken this morning with salt inside and out and put it in the refrigerator and now it's time to cook it and this is what it looks like after it's been dry brined for about 5 hours not too long so what I'm going to do now is put that spice inside the chicken I want all of the spices mainly the the ones I mixed up to be inside so so we'll just sprinkle them in like that and then I'm going to put pepper on the outside this is the large grain uh pepper black pepper and give it a good coating I hope things are going well for you and now I guess the hardest part is trussing up the chicken so it doesn't come apart while you're trying to cook it in the rotisserie so you find the halfway point in your uh kitchen string and then Loop it around the neck part and come underneath and get it kind of centered pull it pretty tight and then come back around and come over the drumsticks so you're over the drumsticks and then you cross it cross the twine the string and then up over the the ends of the drumsticks and you cross it again and then at this point what you want to do as you tighten it you want to lift the breast up and so you've got to squeeze the drumsticks in to lift the breast up you see the breast going up and then try to get it centered and not like I said this is the hardest part and then pull tight on the the string so that once it's tight it holds the breast and the drumsticks in tight uh to the chicken body and then flip it over and come around and do a what a half granny knot just a simple over knot and then we're going to take the ends and come across or down the back and loop it again around that the piece of that neck the little piece that sticks up where you started and then put a square knot there and then that'll be the end of tying the knot so we'll get this little square knot and then cut off those end pieces all right now we're left with one other problem and that's the wings the wings are loose you see that so what do we do with them well the string that went up over the drumsticks we will tuck the elbow I guess you would call it an elbow of the wing in that part you see you just push that in and then the tips of the Wings you kind of tuck them in uh where the drumsticks are as well you see the string here and you have to work it and get the the uh end of the wing under the string just like that and then the tip under the uh drumstick and there you have it it's a a trust chicken trust chicken and that should work now all we have to do is put the rotisserie Rod through it and the little Spade Forks or whatever those are called has to pierce into the chicken about like this and we'll push that that first side in and then flip it around and put the second side the little Spade forks and push it in and get it nice and tight against the chicken and then tighten the set screw just like that now it's not perfectly balanced but that will work you see how it wants to flip over now we have to do is put it in the air fryer and each air fryer has its own way to put them in this one just goes in pretty easy like that so now we just close it up and and uh set the controls 400° and uh then we're going to set it I'm going to start at about 35 minutes and then start checking the temperature it really it winds up taking about 45 minutes to to uh cook this and that's how it looks of course as it's going around and every time you check it then it starts it goes the opposite direction but I just let that go and checked it until it read 166 fahit and so that was ready and then you use the little device the little go-getter Rod oh boy that just it kind of swings when you pull it out so you have to be careful but the chicken is done you just let it set long enough for everything to cool off enough to handle the rotisserie Rod loosen the set screw and then you can pull the rod out and the little Spade fork and that's it now all we have to to do is enjoy it and I'll try and cut a piece of this uh a big piece of this breast off but it's kind of fun to watch it cook and it smells so good and it's it seems a interesting an interesting way to cook chicken in in your air fryer and I really enjoy it and I enjoy the results so let me get this cut free there we go I'll plate that up here's what it looks like now I loose the skin before I started because I put salt Under the Skin in the dry brining process so the skin is not stuck and so it it slides off but that's because I pre-s salted the chicken but it is nice and tender and Juicy and Delicious that's how you make a rotisserie chicken take a look anyway I hope you give this a try if you have a an air fryer if not might be a goodidea idea to get one hey thanks for watching take care we'll see you next time bye [Music] now oh
